Author's Note: I'm back finally! Sorry for the long delay. I screwed up my end-of-term exams thoroughly, well... And I'm writing a real book, about travel. So, alas, gods save me...
Thank you, dearest readers! Enjoy the chapter (for it's probably the last)! I will explain everything at the end of the chapter. For the love of Loki, I would try to...survive.
P.S. Now I put my Loki pillow on the sofa. Hug him and KISS him every day, haha! I love gazing at him, his eyes are so unbearably green, you could drown in them... And Loki's 'skin'is cool and silky and welcoming, oh my gods I'm so happy! Just by staring at his face I might get a climax! ^.^
Disclaimer: I do not own Avengers or Thor. If I did, all the Avengers would have been tortured to death by a thousand Crucios and Sectumsempras. The Hulk would have been left to burn in Tartarus to pay for his unforgiveable crime of hurting Loki. Thor would have been forced to endure ridicule of the people on the streets by eating slugs in public. And above all, Loki would have ruled the Nine Realms with a powerful lover and had a happily ever after!
Frozen Hearts
Her body ached all over when she woke up the next morning, but it was a kind of sweet exhaustion. The ghost of a smile crept onto Sapphira's face as she recalled all the things they did last night. Sighing in newly-found content, she turned over, her eyes still closed. Her arm found Loki's. Sapphira snapped her eyes open; she did not expect him to be still here.
'Good morning, darling,' his voice was unbelievably husky and sexy.
She smirked mischievously. 'Ooh, so am I your "darling" now? Pray tell, is it just because we had sex?'
Loki laughed, pulling her closer to him. 'One of those days, you'll get pricked by the thorns on your own poisonous tongue. But since you questioned it, the answer is "no", my darling.'
Feeling smug yet suspicious, Sapphira raised an eyebrow at him.
'Rather, it is because that I have never had anyone with such a skilled mouth and such a tight body.' He licked his lips and her face felt warmer than usual.
'Well, what can I say?' she shrugged carelessly to hide the fresh wetness between her thighs. 'I never expected you Norse Gods to be so huge. I thought Greek Gods are the biggest, but you proved me wrong last night.'
'Oh, so you've had Greeks before?' Loki tried to keep the sharpness out of his tune, but failed, 'Which one?'
Sapphira grinned. 'Is it jealousy I see now?'
Loki huffed. 'Me, jealous? Never! I'm merely curious as to who will I have to kill to make you exclusively mine.'
Her evil grin grew all the wider. 'Kill? Tell me, God of Mischief, how exactly do you plan to kill Death himself? You want my old lover's name, there you have it: Thanatos.'
It was the most amusing thing to see Loki's face at her answer. 'You and Thanatos? But if I recall in the myths, he is your father's brother, your uncle! How could you, that's...that's... Ugh!'
Sapphira laughed uncontrollably. 'Never would I have thought that the silver-tongue can be at a loss for words! And you need not worry about Thanatos, really. I was young and foolish then, with a mind full of crazed ideas; impulsive and excitement-seeking. That was a one-time thing, nothing more. This I promise you.'
'Hymph, that's good. I actually don't feel like disputing the ownership of a violent goddess with Death - '
She kicked him beneath the covers. 'I am owned by no one, do you hear me, you arrogant sexist?! I do whatever I wish to do, I control people, remember? Not the other way around - and certainly not with you. In case you forgot, I was the one on top most of the time last night.'
Loki simply smirked at that, as if finding her thoroughly entertaining. 'So... Tell me, pet, why do you like to be on top?'
Sapphira laughed at her new nickname. 'Why, dearest Loki, I do enjoy seeing you squirm beneath me!'
His face reddened at that. 'Squirm? How dare you, I did not squirm! I let you be on top because I was going soft on you, seeing as that had been our first sexual intercourse. Mark my words, though, that you will not be so lucky next time - '
'Oh, so you are already eager for another time?' She cut him off cheerfully. 'And don't say that I haven't satisfied you more than enough last night. You did say that my mouth was skilled, remember? So don't complain so much, you enjoyed it, I know you did. I'm sick of all this pretending.'
An unreadable look crossed Loki's face. 'Well, it's a new day now, and pleasure has to wait. We have great work to do. Get up.' He ordered, sitting up first himself and fumbled for his torn cloths.
Sapphira smirked as he repaired the mess she made last night with magic. Then she sighed and got up, hugging the quilt close to her bare breasts as she reached for her purple dress. But Loki caught her hand in mid-way.
'No. After what happened last night, you should change your colours when you are with me.' He said forcedly, waving a hand. Instantly her purple dress was replaced by a fancy garment of emerald green streaked artfully with black and gold. Loki's colours. Sapphira eyed the dress with narrowed eyes.
'How 'bout this?' Loki eyed her face and grinned, 'You wear this like a good girl and I give you a free day with the Tasseract.'
She positioned a controlled mask to hide her excitement and anticipation. He must have noticed her and the Tasseract's reaction when she made contact with the unknown object. 'Mmh. I have decided that these colours aren't so bad.' Sapphira answered, taking the dress with no complaints.
'I knew you would accept it.' The Silvertongue smirked.
She ignored him and shamelessly dressed in front of him before checking herself in the mirror. It was V-neck, showing the top half of her cleavage. Despite everything, she had to admit that Loki-green looked rather good on her. 'Happy now? Thank you for making me look like a whore.'
'Oh, but you are not a whore,' Loki deliberately got off the other side of the bed, putting a healthy distance between them, 'you are a royal whore, there is a difference. You are welcome.'
Outraged, Sapphira throw a pillow at him but unfortunately he ducked just in time. 'Careful now. You don't want to ruin my mood and make me change my mind about the Tasseract now would you?' Even a blind mortal would see that he was enjoying all this teasing too much.
'Fine, fine, fine. Just take me to the Tasseract!' She demanded, annoyed and impatient.
'Patience is a virtue, have no one told you that?' Loki continued to mock, but stopped at once when he saw the death glare she gave him. 'Follow me please.'
Sapphira rolled her eyes and followed him out of the room and back to the base. As soon as the teleportation was over, she could feel the Tasseract's power calling out to her, calling, calling... She walked nearer and nearer, and at last the blue cube of pure wonder was in front of her. She felt the familiar electric pull whenever the Tasseract was near. It was as if it was trying to connect to her. It was a weird feeling for Sapphira, so she decided it best to not tell anyone, including Loki. Oh wait, especially Loki. If there was one person/god that she could not predict in the whole nine worlds, it was Loki.
'So, satisfied?' She had almost forgotten that he was still behind her.
'Not especially. But I will be when you leave me alone though.'
Loki grinned like a child. 'Still poisonous, I see. Well, you have your fun, I'll be right outside. Don't blow up the house though, I still have use for it.' With that he left the room, true to his words - which was a wondrous surprise.
'Incredible.' Sapphira muttered, smirking smugly at the Tasseract. She walked closer to it and breathed in the splendid scent of power and glory.
Taking a deep breath, she placed a careful hand on the Tasseract. The response was immediate. Thousands of electric currents jolted through her body and soul, filling her, feeding her...blinding her. It felt good at first, as if the Tasseract was becoming her. Then the whole thing suddenly became twisted. The Tasseract really was cutting into her body, forcing the waves of power into her, transforming her. At that moment, Sapphira suddenly knew nothing but unbearable pain. Oh, the agony, as the alien energy sacked her soul was as if she had been penetrated by a thousand hot, poisoned daggers. And there was no escape. Her last sensible thought was that she never should have asked to get close to the Tasseract; she never should have fondled with powers she could not understand and endure; and now all would be lost. Her destiny. Everything. Loki. Her destiny. Loki... In the twirling madness, Sapphira must have unconsciously screamed his name, for the next moment she was staring right into Loki's worry-filled face. He might have grasped her hand but she could feel nothing but the pain she was in.
'It's my fault, I should never have used you to uncover the Tasseract's power! Sapphira, just hold on for me, please! I'm helping you! Just hold on! I'm sorry!' She could hear his desperate call but could not respond to it. The pain was getting worse by the second, searing.
I'm sorry too. She wanted to tell him. Of how she had planned to play him like chess, to use him to achieve her goal. But now nothing mattered. Sapphira could feel the life and energy rapidly leaving her once so powerful body. Now a shell. Prophecies, it seemed, could lie. She could hear Loki's anguish-filled voice. Whatever help he had wanted to do her, it was obvious that all had failed.
'I love you.' was the last thing she heard. Loki's kiss touching her lips and his tears on her face were the last good things she felt. His beautiful eyes were the last things she saw. She had one last second to think 'I love you back' before all the Tasseract's destructive power exploded inside her. But what she could not understand was that, this time, there was no pain. The new power continued to flow through her body, not destroying her but...transforming her. At that moment, everything seemed to change. She could feel the Tasseract inside her, being a part of her. Soon all the previous agony began to fade, leaving her feeling better than ever. Sapphira dared not open her eyes, fearing to be already dead. But something else also changed.
Her heart was no longer frozen. She could feel every single warm, sweet emotion that she had been once deprived of.
She opened her new eyes, now the exact colour of the Tasseract.
The first thing she saw was Loki's shock-written but relieved face.
Sapphira was reborn, because of the Tasseract.
She was unfrozen, because of Loki.
Their frozen hearts were no more.
The End of Book I
Notice: Before you kill me, please let me explain! I don't have any time to write anymore. If you have any questions, ask away! If, and I mean IF there's going to be a sequel, then the title would be something like 'Power Changes Everything'. Well you get the point. I really hate to leave this unfinished, so, this is it I suppose! I might not be on net for quite a while. Thank you all for all your encouragement and love! ^.^ I love you all!
I hate saying good-bye, it makes me want to cry, but...
Farewell, and may your unique Loki remain eternally in your hearts.
