Sorry I haven't been updating for a while, but I REALLY want to thank all of you guys for the reviews and the views of this story. One reason will always be WRITER'S BLOCK!
Their small party was now walking for almost a day and a half without sleeping or stopping. Sweat was stained on Gendry's and Hot Pie's tunics and some was on their faces as well. Gwen was gazing up in the cloudy blue sky with her hands on her belly, protecting the babe inside of her.
Hot Pie deeply groaned beside Arya and Gendry, complaining, "Can we rest right now?"
Gwen turned to them and said, "No, we can't…were almost there. I promise just a little while longer."
"Where are going to, m'lady," Gendry asked politely.
Arya rolled her eyes and lightly elbowed him in the arm whispering, "Gendry, you don't have to keep calling her m'lady."
Gwen chuckled. "Arya, he can call me whatever he likes, but" she stopped walking and turned to him, "Arya's right you don't need to call me your lady just Gwen or Guinevere is fine."
"See, I told you so," Arya said to Gendry. "Where are we going though, Gwen?"
"To Casterly Rock to meet Jaime," Gwen said calmly.
Their eyes widened in fear and as if reading Gendry and Hot Pie's mind Arya said, "Jaime Lannister?"
"Yes."
"The Kingslayer?"
"Yes."
"You want to take us to Carsterly Rock?"
"Yes."
"Where he and the other Lannisters live who killed my family?" Arya asked.
Gwen opened her mouth to answer and then she frowned and kneeled down to look at Arya in the eyes, "I'm Lady Lannister now and to everyone in Westeros that name means power. Jaime knows how much I care about you and Sansa…he would never hurt you in fact I think you two might actually get along."
Arya scoffed. "As if, Gwen. I already hate him and his stupid family."
"I know you do just don't hate Tyrion and Jaime. They're actually very nice."
Arya slightly glared at her and decided to walk ahead of them. "Come on, Hot Pie." Arya called.
Hot Pie followed behind her and Gwen asked Gendry, "Is she always like this?"
Gendry laughed. "Ever since I met her even when she was pretending to be a boy."
She looked into his eyes and wondered, He looks so much like Robert. She shoved the absurd thought away from her mind and came back to the present and said, "I promise I won't let anything happen to you, Arya, and Hot Pie."
He turned to her and asked, "I understand Arya, but why Hot Pie and I…we have no purpose."
She smiled warmly at him and replied, "You do have a purpose…you just haven't found it yet. You mean something to Arya, the both of you do and so I'm going to use all the power I have just to make sure you three are safe."
Gendry seemed speechless, but he dazed, "No one has ever…thank you, Lady- I mean Gwen."
"My pleasure, Gendry," she replied.
They walked for almost two hours and even though the rest of them were tired…well, Gwen wasn't. She had so much energy and she expected that it came from the babe. She brightened inside just thinking about it. She had convinced herself that those fears of losing the babe like what happened with Robb's wasn't going to happen again because of Jaime. She smiled at the thought of seeing him again and of course she missed her lion very much. Ever since they had parted, all she could feel in her heart was a piece missing.
Jaime would make sure that their child wouldn't die. Gwen knew thought that if their babe did die…that she wouldn't- no, couldn't be able to take it or even try for another one. Losing one is bad enough, but two, she thought, now that would be the cruelest punishment. She could never be able to replace her dead children if that were to happen. No mother or father should never outlive their children, she thought.
"Someone's coming," Arya shouted at us in a hush tone. They all hid behind trees with weapons. Gwen grabbed a knife that she had taken with her, Arya a sword like looked like her needle, Gendry with a sword, and Hot Pie tried to defend himself with bat-like weapon. They stood on alert as they heard the many patters of hooves coming down from the road. Arya looked to be her and whispered, "Lannisters.", after she had peered from behind the tree to sneak a peek at the intruders.
Gwen thought immediately of Jaime and prayed to the seven that it was him, traveling to Casterly Rock. She hoped yet wondered what Jaime would do to Arya if he saw her. Would he recognize her? Would he know who she was and then kill her? Would he protect her like I am doing now? All these questions flowed furiously and rapidly through Gwen's mind.
The hooves came closer and her heartbeat became faster and faster as they came closer to their small group. Arya jumped in front of the horse just a few feet away like she was completely mad causing the horses to jolt up in fear from her. Arya kept her game face on and Gwen held her belly gently, trying to calm and comfort herself. Gendry and Hot Pie came out as well, attacking the Lannister soldiers on the ground. Gwen was going to come out and fight as well, but Arya came and halted her saying, "You can't…the babe."
Gwen reluctantly stood behind the tree and watched the fight. It was three against five and so the three of them were winning which slightly surprised Gwen. She laughed silently as they made fools of the Lannister soldiers. Arya must've tied one of the men's legs to a horse's because she leaned against the tree and tried not to laugh as she saw the horse dragging the man down the road as it was riding.
"What is the meaning of this?!" a voice roared causing everyone to stop in mid-movement.
Gwen glanced to Arya, but she never took her eyes off the person. Instead, Arya glared at whoever it was. So Gwen peaked out her eyes a little and smiled happily as she saw Jaime sitting tall on his horse, but she didn't care that he was angry at them. He looked very handsome as he sat on his horse. Gwen slightly blushed as she felt herself aroused by the sight of him, having not seen him since the funeral. Jaime had a four o'clock shadow bread, but she would that to be very attractive on him. His hair was still the same length and it turned back to its original color from before. His golden hand gleamed in the sun as they held the reins of his horse and the flesh hand was on the hilt of his sword, reading for attack. He wore his Lannister uniform and not his kinsguard, but Gwen had not doubt that it was somewhere stuffed in his trunks along with many other unfolded clothes.
Gwen took at that moment to come from behind the tree and stand beside Arya and the rest of them. All the anger from Jaime's face had disappeared immediately when he saw her standing there like it was a trick or a dream that he was having. Jaime rushed off his horse, not caring if any of his men would see him and he strode over to Gwen. Gwen rushed over to Jaime and leaped into his arms, embracing him. Jaime twirled her around a little and kissed her temples, then her cheeks, and then her lips while his flesh hand cupped her face and the golden hand held her close to him by the back.
He passionately kissed her, his tongue being shoved into her mouth, dancing with hers in delight. The touch of his tongue wasn't foreign like she thought it would have been, but instead it was comforting and right. Gwen pulled away for air and their breathing became ragged because of the kiss, both trying to regain their breaths. Gwen giggled softly and smiled warmly up at him.
Jaime gave her a genuine smile as he whispered, "My Little Lyanna."
"My Golden Lion," she whispered back and pecked his lips.
His hand went to her belly and glanced down at it and then back up at her. Once he opened his mouth, Gwen smiled and reassured him, "We're fine. The babe is fine. Nothing happened."
Jaime let out a breath he had been holding in ever since he saw her. Jaime embraced her again, breathing in her familiar scent that she had on her neck and hair. Arya's voice caused them to release each other and looked back at her, "Well, are you going to kill us?"
Gwen held in her laughter while Gnedry pulled Arya back and scolded her in a loud hush tone, "Arya, stop it. He's Lord Lannister now, the same Lord Lannister that became one of the greatest fighters in Westeros."
Arya turned to him and countered, "You heard Gwen. She will die before she lets him or any one else hurt us."
Jaime raised an eyebrow and turned to her. "You and your promises will be the death of me."
"I'm glad. That was my master plan of course," she said sarcastically. "Get Jaime Lannister to fall madly in love with me then marry him and have his children."
"Very diabolical."
"Yes, evil as some might put it in gentle terms."
"Evil is hardly gentle."
"Evil is never beautiful."
He smirked mischievously because of their secret language that they had together. "Yet here we are."
She laughed softly and kissed him on the lips. Jaime tightly held onto her, fearing to let go of her. Afraid that this all might be another one of his dreams. Jaime's lips found her neck and she moaned softly.
"Ew," Arya said with disgust as she looked at them.
Gwen had force herself away from Jaime and back to Arya. "I meant what I said. He won't hurt you…just remember our conversation."
Arya crossed her arms over her chest and glared at Jaime for a moment before rolling her eyes and saying in defeat, "Fine, but if he tries anything."
Arya glared back at him and said, "I'll kill you if you hurt Gwen."
Jaime smirked and held out his hand to Arya. "And I'll kill you if you try to hurt my family. Deal."
Arya turned from his hand and went one of the Lannister men, looking for weapons. Gwen kissed his cheek affectionately and looped her arm through Jaime's saying, "She'll come around."
Jaime gave her a look. "She's a Stark, Gwen. She'll hate me until I suffer like the way they did."
"Give it time, I believe in her…and you."
Jaime pecked her lips and had also force his body and mind away from the comfort of his wife so that he could wake up his men. After all they had to make it to Casterly Rock and they needed some kind of protection…especially Gwen since she's with child. His child.
. . .
Gwen rode with Jaime while Arya, Hot Pie, and Gendry got there own horses. Although Gwen didn't mind riding with him, she still had that wild side that wanted to steal a horse and ride through the woods with the wind flowing through her, messing it up. She knew that she could probably never do that again because she would have to stay home in order to take care of the babe.
No, she mentally scolded herself, I won't be like that…I'm Lyanna Stark's daughter, and the blood of a she-wolf runs through my veins and same for my children.
Jaime leaned in and kissed her neck from behind, smiling like a fool in love. Gwen slightly turned and asked, "Why are you so happy?"
"Because I…I," Jaime said, trying to find the right words to describe how he was feeling right now. His face turned serious and the smile left his handsome face. "I was so worried that something could have happened to you. For the first time in my life I felt weak…useless because if anything were to happen to you…I don't think I could bear to live any longer."
A frown appeared on her face and she was silent. Gwen didn't know if this was the babe or her hormonal emotions, but Gwen slapped Jaime across the face causing everyone to look back with curious and yet fearful eyes. His head was turned by the force causing his hair to go in his face, but he swiftly turned his head back to her, very confused at her action. Gwen gave Jaime an unflinching gaze that was cold as ice as she warned him, "Don't you ever say those words again, Jaime." She felt tears wield up in her eyes as she continued, "Don't you think about doing that because if you do…then," she started to break down crying and Jaime held her tightly to his chest.
"I'm sorry," he soothed as he stroked her hair.
"I can't, Jaime. I can't think of you that way. I can't-I-I can't." She cried.
Jaime only held her tighter and she took immediate comfort in it. She finally calmed down and glanced up into Jaime's eyes and she gave him a reassuring smile. "Sorry, I-I don't know what came over me," she sniffed.
Jaime only smiled down at her and gave her a long and deep kiss. Passion filled their kiss completely…consuming them until they could breathe again. Jaime rode their horse forward and commanded to everyone, "Let's get moving if we are to make to Casterly Rock by nightfall."
"Promise me that you won't tell Cersei about Arya. If she knows then she'll likely kill us all…she's the only family I have left besides you and the babe." Gwen whispered to Jaime.
Jaime studied Arya who was in front of them by a few feet for a few moments. Jaime examined the girl intently, wondering if she could be trusted since he was a Lannister who came from the family who tore hers apart and made fools out of them. Jaime knew that his gut was telling him not to trust her for many reasons one in particular where it involved the safety of his child, but as he looked at Gwen…he couldn't take the Stark girl away from her.
He noticed that Arya and Gwen were alike in every way. They both had a wild side and wolf's blood in their veins. He already knew that Gwen didn't want to ride with him because of her love for horseback and her freedom. Jaime had an idea that her and Brienne got along well with each other though he knew that he would have to have that conversation with her involving how in the seven hells did she get to Arya.
"I promise." He finally said, kissing Gwen on the lips.
