13. A Talk With Venus and Her Daughter
Love does that, it changes you.
Reyna's mind played over the same line over and over. She never believed in love, for starters. How can that even change her for Pluto's sake? She paced around the room trying to make sense of her little talk with Venus or Aphrodite.
Her second talk with that goddess. Reyna remembers the first one quiet well. Venus came to her with a sweet smile on her face. But by the end of the chat, Reyna knew that she did not come for giving Reyna advice.
"He is not for you, my darling. He's going to hurt you.'' Reyna knew that she was a Goddess of Love, she has to be right. But she held on for all it was worth. Then Jason was gone.
Yes, Venus was right. But what did that mean? Reyna wasn't in love by any chance. Especially not with him. At first, Reyna called him Camp Bomber, but then she opened up to the curly haired Repair boy. But that doesn't mean she is love with him. Or the other way around. But when she argued with Venus about that, she just winked at her.
She didn't realize that someone was knocking on her door, until that person started banging. She hurriedly went and opened up the door, to find a very flustered Piper McLean standing. Before she could do or say anything, Piper flung herself upon Reyna hugging her. Reyna returned the hug, a bit awkwardly.
"You realize I've knocked - banging - for ten minutes before you opened? I thought Gaia returned and took you as a captive or something." Piper cried out.
Reyna looked at the girl with a look of surprise on her face. "You were worried about me?"
"Yeah, of course I was." Piper said noticing her surprise. "Anyway, there has a reason why you're not opening your door. What's the problem? And don't lie, I am a daughter of Aphrodite." She smiled knowingly.
"Venus came. Your mother." Reyna said with gritted teeth.
"Aphrodite's my mom." Piper said.
"Whatever, they are both annoying, aren't they?" Reyna asked Piper. Piper gave a small laugh.
"You're correct," Piper said. "But I heard, she came to Leo as well."
For some unknown reason, Reyna's heart did a cartwheel. Oh Damn, Venus can't be right.
"Yeah, and?" Reyna tried to seem like she didn't care.
"And he was on fire." Piper chuckled.
"He's always on fire." Reyna remarked.
"Well, Percy joked: Passion came in the form of fire."
"His jokes aren't funny." Reyna said, poker faced.
"So what did mom say?"
"Love does that, it changes you." Reyna quoted before she could stop herself.
"Huh, she said the same thing to Leo. It can't be a coincidence."
"Somethings are coincidence."
"Nothing is coincidence when you are a demigod." Piper smiled.
"Yeah, smart words from a child of Athena."
"Will you, at least tell me about how you feel about Leo." Piper begged. "And don't try to deny, the boy is Leo."
"According to Venus." Reyna muttered. She said loudly, "He must be the only of The Seven who chatted up with me after the war. Even Grace didn't. And Jackson was too wrapped up in Annabeth. I don't really what happened, but we became friends and nothing more!" Reyna forced the last part out.
"Think about it, Rey, you do spend your time with him. And to think of it, you trust him and you do love him. You are more bubbly around him. Just think on it, you'll realize it too." Piper said and jumped out of the room.
"Hey," Reyna protested and threw a pillow at her.
One down, one to go. Piper thought as she skipped merrily to Leo's cabin.
AN: So, finished it :) Thinking of writing Criminal, yeah, I'll update. Just trying to oil you guys up, I'm not gonna write for at least two weeks, after today. Anyway, leave a few reviews for me, 'kay? I might be a bit happy seeing how you guys are reading and keeping me happy.
Remember: A happy reader means a happy writer.
But probably not for Rick Riordan, that guy is killing us, 11 months to go for BoO. Just wait a few days, I'm gonna start counting the days.
Hey, after my exams are over, I'm thinking of reading Divergent, can you tell me how good they are?
Thanks,
Peace out.
