This one is for BETHANLOVERXOX. I hope you and all my readers like it!

I'm sick in bed, so if this chapter sucks, sorry. Seriously, I felt so crappy I could barely do any revising, so if there's some mess-ups, just ignore them please.

Rain was pouring, pounding down on the small town of Whitechapel; everyone was safe in their houses as the downpour continued; families were eating dinner, children were being put to bed, and couples were snuggling down for a night of movies.

Yet, in the quiet that only came with a downpour of rain, was the obvious sound of a car puttering along the streets, its windshield wipers swishing back and forth as the driver made their way slowly to the local hotel.

In this car was a single figure, slouched over the wheel as they focused on the road.

Every few minutes though, the driver's eyes would stray from the pouring rain to a photo that was taped to the dashboard; the photo was of a young blonde woman with a big, carefree grin.

And under the photo was one word, printed there in black ink.

'Samantha'

Mrs. Morgan was walking through her house, checking on her family; it was late, nearing 2 in the morning, and she hoped everyone was fast asleep, even though the storm outside was loud and raucous.

Entering the living room, she had to stifle a chuckle as she saw her husband asleep on the couch, drooling slightly; putting a blanket over him, she kissed his cheek and made her way up the stairs to her daughter's room; Jane was fast asleep, a doll clutched to her chest. Kissing her forehead, she made her way down the quiet hall to check on her son.

Upon opening the door, she smiled softly. Ethan was on his bed, his back against his boyfriend's chest; Benny's arms were wrapped tightly around him in a protective embrace. She walked in and kissed them both on the forehead before she made her way to her room downstairs, ready to call it a night.

As she got into bed, her phone vibrated. Yawning, she looked at it, surprised to see a text message so late in the night; if it hadn't been for her son and his boyfriend, she wouldn't have even bothered learning how to text. Opening the message, she read it with tired eyes.

"Hello Sam." Blinking, she read it again; no one had called her Sam in such a long time…

"Who is this?" she texted back, nerves rattled as she got an immediate response.

"I think you know," was the reply, making her breath hitch a bit.

"I'm sorry, but no. Who is this?"

"Oh Sam, you haven't forgotten me, have you?" The reply sent chills down her spine, but she texted back anyway.

"I'm sorry, but I don't know who you are. Please stop bothering me."

"I wouldn't do that if I was you Sam." She felt the threat in those words. Gripping her phone, she hastily texted back.

"And why not?"

"Well then your sleeping husband, precious daughter and her dolly, and your son and his 'friend', will pay for your foolishness."

She let out an involuntary sob as she read this; this person knew things about her family! She looked around, but saw nothing.

"Who are you and what do you want?"

"I want you Sam. It's been so long… Yet I still want you."

"WHO ARE YOU?!"

"Someone long forgotten obviously. We'll talk again soon. Goodnight My Dear." She gasped as she read those last two words.

No one had called her 'My Dear' in a long time.

Only one person ever had.

"Something's up with my mom," Ethan said to Benny the next morning, watching as she fiddled with her phone, checking it every few minutes. "Does she seem nervous?"

"Nervous?" Benny asked around a mouthful of cereal, looking at the jumpy blonde woman. "More like…scared," Benny slowly, making Ethan look at him.

"What do you think is wrong?"

"I'm not sure. Why don't you ask her?"

"Mom?" She turned and met his eyes with her own worried ones. "Are you okay?"

"Of course! Why wouldn't I be?"

"You seem jumpy Mrs. M."

"I'm fine boys. You should be getting off to school. Bye!" She ushered them out of the house and slammed the door on them. Slowly, the two of them made their way towards the school before Ethan stopped.

"E?"

"Something's wrong. I'm going home."

"E, come on, she's fine."

"No she's not. I'm going home. You can go on to school if you want, but I want to check on my mom." Benny stood there for a moment before he rolled his eyes.

"Whatever, let's go. She's gonna be pissed that you skipped."

"At least she'd be acting like herself."

Mrs. Morgan was jittery as she made her way towards a small coffee shop on the far side of town, her phone gripped in her hand. She didn't notice the two dark-haired teens that followed her. She glanced at her phone and read the message there.

"You'll know me when you see me Sam."

And she did; she easily recognized the person who had been terrorizing her and threatening her family for the last 12 hours.

"Sam," the man said, standing tall; he was good looking, with wavy light hair and bright eyes; his teeth were almost too straight, and he looked like a walking ad for men's clothes.

"David," she said slowly, approaching him; when he moved, she could see the glint of a pistol under his jacket.

"It's been too long. Take a seat, order a drink, let's chat." She sat down, body stiff.

"What do you want with me?"

"Who's that?" Benny asked as he and Ethan crouched down, watching his mom talk with the strange man.

"No idea. She looks terrified."

"She does… Do you think something's wrong?" Ethan glared at Benny, who winced. "Right, that's why we're here. Sorry." Ethan rolled his eyes and looked at them.

"I wish I could hear what they were talking about."

"I have just the thing!" Benny exclaimed, pulling his spell book out and quickly reciting a spell. Ethan rubbed his ears as he heard his mom's voice come through.

"Perfect."

"David, why are you here?"

"Oh My Dear-"

"Don't call me that. David, I'm married."

"You'll always be Samantha Robertson to me."

"My last name is Morgan now David. I'm happily married with a loving family. I have everything I've ever wanted."

"Sam, your last name should've been Jones, not Morgan. You and I are soul mates. I came back for you, just like I did before."

"I didn't go then and I won't go now," Samantha said, making to get up.

"I'll kill them all." She stopped and stared at him, face conveying her shock. "And I'll make you watch. Sit back down." She sat there, eyes wide. "Good. Now, you are going to leave your husband."

"N-no."

"Excuse me?"

"David, we broke up years ago. Then I met Ross and fell in love! We have a family. You and I are just…old history." David clenched his fist and took a deep breath before he grinned at her.

"Sam, Sam, Sam. I love you more than anymore ever could. You and I belong together, and I will do whatever I can to prove it to you; starting with your son."

"Don't you dare touch Ethan!" she cried, making him grin.

"Then listen to me. You're going to go home, pack your bags, and leave with me tonight. Or else."

"I can't listen to this anymore," Ethan whispered, making Benny wave his hand, ending the spell. "I'm going over there."

"E you can't!" Benny cried, gripping his arm.

"I am. And you're going to stay here, and if anything happens, call the cops okay?"

"Ethan-" Ethan shut him up by pressing a hard kiss to his lips, fingers tangling in his hair.

"I love you," he told him, eyes serious. "Call the cops if we need them okay?"

"Okay," Benny said softly. "I love you too." Ethan grinned at him before walking to his mom.

"Mom!"

"Mom!" Samantha turned, her eyes wide in fear as Ethan approached her.

"Ethan! Wh-what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be at school?"

"You seemed upset earlier. I wanted to make sure you were okay," he said, staring at the man, who was glaring at him. "Who's this?"

"An old friend," she said quickly, gripping his arm. "Ethan go home."

"No Sam, it's fine," the man said, reaching for Ethan's hand to shake it. "I'm David."

"Ethan." When David and he shook hands, Ethan's vision darkened.

The silver glint of metal.

The smell of gun smoke.

Pain shooting through his body.

Ethan jerked and met the hateful eyes of the man.

"We were just going to go for a drive. Why don't you join us Ethan?"

"Sure." Samantha was nervous as he led her and her son to his car, where he quickly drove them away.

Benny stood up then, his phone to his ear.

"Hello, police? I think my friend and his mom are in trouble."

"Sam, I hate that it had to come to this," David said as he pulled up to the outskirts of town, where there was mainly woods and no houses, which meant no people.

"Come to what, David?" Ethan sat in the backseat, watching them.

"I think you know. YOU! Get out of the car." Ethan silently got out of the car, only to be yanked by the neck deeper into the woods, his mom following, tears already pouring down her cheeks. David pushed Ethan, making him stumble a bit before he stood up straight.

"David please!"

"No Sam. I'm doing this for you! Once all these…distractions are out of the way, you and I can be together."

"No!" she cried, gripping his arm; he shoved her, knocking her down.

"Mom!"

"Don't move you brat! And Sam, My Dear, stay there." Ethan stood there, eyes full of anger as he stared at him.

But Ethan had also seen what was about to happen to him; his mom would not be hurt, and that was all he wanted.

As for himself…

Some things just happened.

"That's the car!" Benny cried, making Mr. Morgan stop the car, the police and an ambulance behind them.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes!"

"Okay, Benny, you and Jane stay here."

"What?!" the two of them cried, getting stern looks from Mr. Morgan.

"Stay." They watched as he and two cops made their way into the forest, trying to not make any sound.

Ethan stood there, staring down the barrel of a gun.

Literally.

David had pulled it out and aimed it at him, eyes hard.

"David please!"

"Sam, he has to die."

"Mom, it's okay," Ethan said, making her gape at him. He didn't look at her as he stared at him. "You won't hurt her?"

"Of course not!" The man cried. "I love her!"

"Good. Although you're in for one hell of a ride when I die."

"Whatever," he scoffed, making Ethan shake his head.

"Don't say I didn't warn you."

Mr. Morgan, along with the two cops, crept up to the side of a tree, where they could see the man holding the gun that was pointed at Ethan, Mrs. Morgan on the ground next to the man.

"That them?" a cop asked gruffly, making Mr. Morgan nod. "Ready?" he asked his partner, who pulled out his gun and nodded. The first cop nodded and did the same. "Mr. Morgan, we don't want any casualties, so you need to stay here, okay? We'll get your wife and son out of there."

"Okay," he said slowly, watching them. The cops nodded and ran towards the man.

"Drop your weapon!"

David didn't look at them as he eyed Ethan, who just stared back.

"You ready to die kid?"

"Yep."

"Good."

With that, he pulled the trigger.

Benny doubled over in the car, his hand flying to his chest.

"Benny!" he felt small hands on his back as he gripped the fabric of his shirt.

"Ethan," he gasped out, making Jane pale.

"Ethan?"

Ethan felt like he was falling in slowly motion; he had felt the bullet pierce his skin, the blood warm on his quickly chilling skin, his body collapsing to the ground; he watched as the two cops tackled the man and restrained him.

But then, his vision began to fade and blur.

So this is what dying feels like.

"Ethan!" Mr. and Mrs. Morgan cried, both rushing to him. Mrs. Morgan took her son into her arms, weeping as his blood stained her skin and clothes. Ethan didn't move as they hugged him. Only when men with a stretcher came to take him away did they let go, both going numb.

Ethan was barely breathing as he was wheeled into the ambulance.

"Ethan!" Benny cried when he saw him, chest hurting. "Please Ethan! Ethan wake up!"

Ethan still didn't move as he was pushed into the ambulance. Benny stood there, watching them drive away with him. He felt a hand on his shoulder and saw Mr. Morgan.

"Let's get to the hospital."

Ethan eyes opened slowly as he took in the figures in front of him; before he could really register anything though, long arms were around him.

"Thank God you're alive," Benny muttered into his shoulder, his breathing heavy.

"B?" Ethan got out, making the taller move away to look at him.

"Yeah E."

"K?"

"You're okay."

"Good," Ethan said with some difficulty, making Benny smile as he ran his fingers through his hair. He pressed a dozen desperate kisses to Ethan's lips repeatedly, only stopping so Ethan could catch his breath.

"I was so scared. You're an idiot. I thought I lost you."

"No. Just Ethan though."

"What?"

"Death….gone." Benny grinned and kissed him again.

"Ethan!" Ethan looked up from Benny's embrace to see his parents walk in. Benny moved so they could hug him. "Thank god you're okay."

"It was touch and go there for a moment. That bullet got close to your heart, but luckily didn't pierce it. You're going to make a full recovery." Ethan grinned and leaned against the pillows, eyes drooping. "Come on, let's let him sleep."

"B. Stay." Benny looked at the two adults and they nodded; he gave them a smile and went to Ethan's side, where said boy curled up against his chest.

"So you're not death anymore?"

"No."

"You sure?"

"Yes."

"Good. The whole skeleton thing creeped me out a bit." Ethan chuckled and yawned. "I love you so much. I was so scared that I lost you."

"Takes more….than….a bullet…..to….get….rid of….me," Ethan got out, looking at him with tired eyes.

"I guess so," Benny said, kissing him again. "Rest E."

"Love…you….too." Benny grinned and watched as Ethan drifted off. Shifting against the pillows, he felt his own eyes droop too.

Resting his head on Ethan's, Benny fell asleep.

David was in his prison cell, face twisted in fear as he lay crumpled on the floor.

A lone figure stood over him, shaking its head.

"Some people just can't handle Death," it murmured before turning around, it's long black cloak flaring around it as it turn, disappearing in smoke, a grinning skull all that could be seen before it disappeared completely.

So yeah… That happened.

I hope ya'll liked it and thanks for reading.
