Uzumaki Twins

Chapter 29

~Naruto's pov~

I raced to the stands and skidded to a halt. Kakashi-sensei and the others were staring down at the arena watching the progression of Sasuke and that freaky guy Gaara as they fought. My chest rose and fell quickly as I gained my breathing. My frantic running must have alerted them at some point as they turned to look at me without shock in their eyes. Shikamaru arrived not a moment too soon.

'Kuro…' I said out of breath. 'Something's happened with Kuro.'

'What do you mean, Naruto?' Kakashi-sensei asked.

'Naruto, your sister's fine. She's just performing security checks around the grounds.'

I was shaking my head just before she finished. 'No. I have a bad feeling. Something's not right. I saw…' I swallowed and tried again. 'I saw images.'

'And that means?'

'I believe it may be to do with some sort of twin connection between him and Chika that he may have seen.' Shikamaru spoke up. 'He claims that there isn't a connection, but I'm not entirely convinced. Whatever Naruto saw it was intense enough to knock him on his ass.'

'What did you see Naruto?' Kakashi-sensei asked.

'I saw a giant blue paw, a man with a sword and I felt overpowered and weak. It was definitely a fight. Before that I felt like Kuro was in danger before I saw and felt what I did.'

Kakashi-sensei frowned. 'I'll have to speak with Hoshi to find out what Chika's doing. Don't worry Naruto. I'm sure she's safe and sound.'

For some reason, I couldn't believe him. I would have liked to but I just couldn't. The feeling in the pit of my stomach and heart wouldn't let me feel put at ease. Kuro was in danger and there's nothing that I could do in order to change that. I don't even know where she is or what she could have gotten herself into. What did that guy with the sword want with her? And what the hell was that huge blue paw? Why couldn't these feelings be only that? Why must I have to sense that something was wrong?

~Chika's pov~

My subconscious was slowly pulling away. Sleep was trying to take me under but I fought it. I didn't want to go to sleep as Juuku took over. I wanted to fight this myself with Juuku at my side. It's not fair for only her to try and do this by herself. I know she's strong and I would be in the way, but she can't do this by herself. I won't let her do it by herself. We're in this together or we're not at all.

Very well, Juuku's voice rang through my mind. I'll leave you in control for now. I'll remain backseat, lending you my power. Should things get too dangerous, I'm taking over.

Done, I tell her. But don't worry, my friend, this won't take long.

Juuku's growl rumbled out of my mouth as her chakra enveloped me. I could feel the movement of three tails behind me. It was a bare amount of power to what Juuku was really packing. But three tails should be enough for these guys. Unless I'm underestimating them, then I'll be screwed. Normally I can come to terms with who's stronger and what kind of power level they're packing. But these guys, I can't figure out. They must be more powerful than I originally thought.

'She's more beautiful in person than on a photo,' the boy said looking up at the man at his side.

'That she is, my son.' The yellowed eyed, black haired, freak smirked. Nausea flooded me but I remained standing and shoved away the reflex to gag or puke. 'Now, now, Chika Uzumaki, you're safe here, no one's going to hurt you.'

I growled, a meagre one compared to Juuku's, but just as intimidating. Only one of them flinched and that was the one who kidnapped me in the first place. Why did he even bring me here to begin with? Who employed him to kidnap me? And what's the reason for it in the first place?

'You're kidding me,' my voice sounded deeper and darker. 'I'm safe here? You're fucking kidding me!'

The man by the side of the boy narrowed his eyes. 'Your language is appalling.'

'Yeah well, so is your attitude!' I growled.

I observed the four of them, my red eyes glaring deeply at each individual. My kidnapper had already told me he was under orders to kidnap me. Wait, the one who employed him had given him the mission. Even still it's an order and one he obeyed. But which one was the one who hired him. It couldn't have been the first black haired male I met. It must be the other one, the brother to the first. The boy was the son to the brother of the first and he didn't seem strong enough or controlling enough to do such things. In fact, compared to the two black haired males, the boy looked too stupid to be able to execute a solid plan to capture me like the one performed and succeeded.

I turned to the man I had been speaking to. 'So it's you. You're the one that hired him,' I pointed a sharp nailed finger at my kidnapper who flinched, 'to kidnap me and bring me here.'

'Good observation. I'm impressed one your age can be capable of such feats. Now come, child, and I'll show you to your room.'

'I'm not staying here.'

He frowned at me. 'This is now your home. You have no say in that matter.'

I laughed. 'You're the one that has no say in that matter.' I pointed at my kidnapper again. 'He says I'm not capable of intimidating you. I don't believe him. I know it'll take something dangerous and strong to do so, but I am capable of intimidating anyone and everything.'

The boy laughed. 'You really should be more careful with who you pick fights with.' He stepped forward, shoving his hands in his trouser pockets. 'If you're going to challenge my father to a fight, you best get through me first.'

That should be simple enough.

Don't underestimate him! Juuku demanded frantically.

What's the matter?

He's no ordinary child. Juuku was acting panicked. I knew that something was wrong when she starts to panic. I'm not sure if we'll be able to defeat him, Kuro. His power level is extremely high.

Almost demonic. Realisation dawned. Could he also be a vessel for a powerful demon like me?

That's correct, Jyubi answered. I don't know what demon he's packing, but he's powerful enough to stand at equal strengths with us. Be careful and don't let him out of your sight.

Also be careful of the other three. If you become too absorbed in fighting him, they'll attack you and easily capture you.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Juuku.

The boy laughed. 'So you can do it too!' he clapped his hands as delight spread across his face. I growled. 'You're able to commune with your demons like I can.'

I frowned. 'If you think we're going to become close, you can keep dreaming kid.'

'Look I'm older than you. I'm almost thirteen, you're stuck at twelve.'

'So childish,' I said rolling my eyes. 'I don't care if you're older than me. You're a big brat and frankly you're annoying.'

His chuckle turned dark. 'Believe me; we're going to get awfully close.'

I felt Juuku freeze up inside of me. I almost felt her withdrawal. It seems she's finally come to conclusion who the demon inside of the boy is. It seems she's afraid of the demon inside of him. But she's not afraid of any demon. Why would she suddenly be afraid now? Unless this has something to do with her past that we don't really know about. Juuku would share anything with me, besides her past. Although she's a demon, I have a vague idea that her past is…dark.

Who is it, Juuku?

Jyukubi,she finally answered.

Juuku's name means nineteen. Jyukubi means nineteen-tailed. Does that mean he's a nineteen-tailed demon just like Juuku? If so, this battle wouldn't be easy at all. It also means that I underestimated him because I didn't use my ability detect chakra in order to establish how powerful he really is. Wouldn't he also be more powerful than his father because of the powerful demon within him? Fuck! This wasn't looking good for me.

I took a step back. He zeroed in on the action. His green eyes lit up for a moment but then dulled. He mustn't have liked the idea that I didn't like nor trusted him. If we were going to fight then I wouldn't want it in close quarters and outnumbered.

'You're acting as if you know something.' He said taking a step closer.

'Not too close, my son. She's a feisty one.'

He looked over his shoulder at his father. 'Oh, come one, dad, we all know that she can't injury me.'

Proceed with caution.

I let the red chakra flow back within me. Juuku understood what I was doing. The chakra remained underneath my skin like a second skin. It will act as armour, making my skin impossible to cut and will give me extra strength. It's almost like having the red chakra surround me except it's now part of me. I lunged forward, my nails springing into claws, and I struck the boy. He crashed back into the wall, leaving splits coming away from his body. He groaned in pain and I watched as blood ran down the side of his face from where I cut him. I smirked, my incisors longer than before, and I quickly ran.

The boy's laughter followed me. 'That was a surprise!' his voice followed after me.

Fuck! His demon's active!

I take it that's a bad sign. I glanced over my shoulder and saw that he was surrounded in black chakra. I twisted around just as he caught up to me and kicked him under his chin. He went sailing back, but he flipped in the hand and skidded to a stop on all fours. His eyes had turned black, and dangerous. The pupils were red slits. I turned and took off down the corridor once more. I needed to get away from that freak.

Jyukubi's as evil as I am good. He's dark to my light and he's my counterpart.

He's your brother?

No, my fiancé. Only I refused him and he wants payback.

He still wants you, doesn't he?

Yes, and he'll stop at nothing to get me. She sighed. Now that his host is interested in you Kuro, he won't kill you but make sure that you submit to the pair of them. It also means that Jyukubi has taken a liking to you also.

Let me guess, normally he kills those even if his hosts likes them.

To free me from my host, yes he'd kill them. He has the ability to kill hosts and force the demons out of the bodies without a scratch.

Since both he and his host likes Kuro, he'll keep her alive even with you inside?

Yes, he'll force Kuro to submit just like he would with me.

Well then, he can only do that if he catches us, and that is what we're not going to do. Let's focus on not getting caught.

Agreed, Juuku answered.

I also agree, Jyubi said.

Now then, to get the hell out of his hellhole and back home. First things first, ditch the obsessive twerp behind me. I giggled to myself. Despite the seriousness of the circumstances, I actually found myself having fun. He's powerful enough to give me a run for my money, but that's not the reason why I'm running. I won't ever submit to anyone and I would never hand my demons over to anybody. They belong to me and I belong to them. No obsessive, revengeful, dark, badass demon was going to change that.

Jyukubi, it's time for you to kiss my shoes as you learn not to mess with my demons or me.
