Uzumaki Twins

Chapter 31

~Chika's pov~

My heart pounded with panic as I felt my brother drawing closer.

I had always believed that we didn't have some kind of connection. It apparently seems that we just developed it late. I didn't want him involved in this battle. He could easily get killed without the aid of his demon. With these circumstances there's no way I'm going to easily win this battle either. It's possible I may even be killed. Actually I wish I would be killed rather than made to succumb down to their orders and wills.

I really, really, really hate this boy and his demon.

I ducked the large black paw aiming for me and landed in a tree far above his head. My form was still cloaked in the red chakra provided from Juuku. She was desperate to get out of here but it seems that Jyukubi doesn't want us going anywhere so soon. Well for that matter, neither does the cocky little boy who hosts him. Under other circumstances I would have loved to play longer with them, but not this time. This is about my freedom and it was one of the things I would never let anyone ever take away from me. It's just too precious for me to give up.

It's what they're going to have to learn. And it seems they're going to have to learn the hard way.

Growling, I lunged forward, narrowly escaping that large paw and smacking right into the boy's black chakra cloaked body. I stopped on the branch he was on before and watched as he smashed right through a large tree trunk and then slamming into the one behind it. Instead of continuing to watch him struggle to his feet, I cupped my hands as if I were holding an invisible ball. I concentrated of building my chakra into the centre. Dark blue and red liquid balls started to amalgamate becoming a condensed ball of pure energy.

I launched it at him and it came out as a beam. It hit him and exploded out. I quickly got out of there before the blast could take me along with it. The blast was large and I only managed to narrowly escape it before it sucked me into it. The wind was strong that came off it and almost sent me flying away. I sunk my chakra embedded feet into the ground hoping that the chakra itself would keep me grounded rather than sent flying to God knows where.

I waited out the wind and only when did it die down was when I removed my arms from my face. Juuku's chakra receded back inside of me. My shoulders rose and fell from exhaustion, my breath came out a little heavily and shaken. My body hurt all over. My knees were wobbly and threatened to topple me over there and then. But instead I observed the massive amount of damage my jutsu caused. My jaw slacked open and the large barren hole I made. Trees destroyed and smoke wafted at the edges before completely disappearing. Talk about a large scale detonation. I actually didn't plan for the attack to be this large on the scale.

Thankfully there was no sign of life from that boy and his demon.

I turned and took one step when I was hit from behind. The world went around, upside down and spun very fast as I shot through the air, smashing through trees, bouncing off the ground until I landed far away. My body felt damaged everywhere. Bones felt broken and some of my organs felt pierced from the inside. I struggled to lift my head up off the ground. I tried to lift myself with my arms, but they were shaking so badly it took me seven tries until I could shift myself so I was sitting. My whole body was heavy and sleep felt like an irresistible pull. My vision was dotted with black and a few times I thought I blacked out.

A hand, more like a clawed hand, grabbed my throat and lifted me off the ground. I struggled imperceptibly in the boy/demon's grip. Staring at me were red slit eyes surrounded by black. Jyukubi at his best in human possession. There was a sadistic grin on his face, victory gleamed in his eyes. He licked his lips as his eyes seemed to stare into my soul or at least to the root of me where Juuku lies. I felt her shudder inside of me, shrinking away from the surface, growling animalistic at the threat before us.

'Nice try,' Jyukubi grumbled. 'But you belong to us now.'

I wanted to tell him what I thought to that but I couldn't open my mouth to say anything. I must still be in shock with how he could have survived that attack so easily. I mean he's not even got a scratch on him. It was as if he knew I was going to strike him with that very jutsu and knew how to counter. I hadn't even used that jutsu before in my life. How the hell could he have known to counter it? How did he even manage to get out of the blast area in time? Did he even get out of it? How was he able to do it? How was he able to read me so accurately?

~No one's pov~

Naruto and the gathering involved raced through the forest. They had heard the loud explosion and felt the powerful wind that followed with it. They headed in the same direction as soon as the wind had died. Naruto was sure it was his sister. He had felt the power gather before it struck. He had felt his hands grow hot until the very same power was released therefore releasing the heat from his hands. He was positive it was her. He was just so scared to death for her that he rushed, ignoring all the calls behind him.

Desperation makes you act recklessly his sister's voice echoed in his head.

Clenching his fists he tried to ignore the advice. He shouldn't really. He knew he should stay with the others. He just felt useless not being at her side knowing she was in danger and facing it alone. He just couldn't come to terms with slowly down and waiting for the cavalry to catch up before he could reach her. By that time, she may have already been taken back to the place she was being kept. If that was the case then he would be too late. There would be no way in order to rescue her, not while he didn't have a clue where she was being kept.

'Naruto.' A voice to his left said softly.

He turned to see Sasuke. He nodded his head at Naruto, an agreement of something that passed between the two. It seems that Sasuke had the same idea as him. Nodding his head in acknowledgement the pair increased their pace, matching each other's step for step, their eyes focused forward, focused on Chika. Naruto felt the bond between him and his sister grow. She was close.

The pair jumped out of the trees when they spotted her being held by the throat by a boy cloaked in darkness they hadn't seen before. Chika looked almost out of it. She had resisted struggling. Naruto could only guess because she was so weak and exhausted. Turning his eyes to her capture, Naruto glared, his fists clenching, his nails digging into his palms.

'Let me sister go now!' he snapped, pointing at the boy.

'So,' the boy said in a deep voice full of menace, 'you're the nine-tailed boy.'

People landed behind him but he didn't focus. Naruto felt a stirring inside of him as his temper rose. Anger and hatred for the boy holding his sister continued to rise. Standing there, holding her by the throat, sounding cocky and full of it as if he had every right just to hold her as if he owned her, Naruto couldn't help but become angrier and angrier.

Sand darted out from behind him and hit the boy. He lost his grip on Chika and she fell to the ground as he smashed back into a tree that bordered a large barren area. Naruto raced forward, knelt down at her side and rested her on his lap. He observed her. There were no obvious signs of cuts, bruising or blood. It just looks like she exhausted herself. She was dirty, there was no doubt she's been in a fight but she wasn't seriously injured. But how can that be? Didn't that boy want to kill her?

'N-Naruto…' Chika's voice was weak and she struggled to keep her eyes open. She couldn't really see her brother leaning over her but she could distinguish his bright blonde hair and blue eyes. The familiar warmth of him holding her also penetrated through to her. She could never confuse him with that boy. Their touches were too different. Besides, she knew her brother was there. He had spoken and she could feel the bond pulsing strong between them.

'It's alright, Kuro, I'm here,' she heard him say.

Then she felt that other familiar demonic presence. Gaara and Shukaku stood near her. She daren't move her head in case the pain all over her body decided to sweep her under. She could use a really long rest until she fully recovered from this ordeal. The pain was so great. How could using her demon's power cause so much damage to her body? Okay, it was no longer just her demon's power that caused her to be a world of hurt; it was also when he struck her from behind. Damn that was one powerful hit.

'She's not your prey,' she heard Gaara say.

'As if she's yours,' the boy chuckled disbelievingly. Red slit eyes surrounded by black took in Gaara's appearance. 'You're the one-tailed boy from the sand.' He cocked his head. 'Of course you won't know anything about me. Juuku and I are on a completely different level of demon after all, not like you'd know about that.'

'I demand to know what you want with Chika Uzumaki,' the Hokage said taking control of the situation.

Jyukubi glared at the Hokage but he didn't back down. He looked over the rest of the people that were backing up with Chika from being captured by him again. It seems with so many powerful Jonin and the Hokage backing her, he wasn't going to take her anywhere. Plus the other two demons willing to protect her from his clutches. Jyukubi smirked and shook his head.

'What I want with the girl is none of your business, Hokage.'

'Why you disrespectful little brat!' a bandana wearing guy with scars on his face said through clenched teeth. He looked like he was ready to torture some information out of him. But would he really torture a little boy for it? Possibly. It seems he doesn't care the age. If they're ninjas he believes all enemies should be tortured in order to gain information they require.

The Hokage shook his head at the man who silenced himself. 'She is from my village. Anyone who has business with her has it with me.'

Jyukubi chuckled. 'Our business is destiny, has been for a very long time. Now if you'll hand her over.' He outstretched his arm and opened his hand. 'I'll take her back with me and we can begin with what was supposed to have happened a long time ago.'

Naruto stood up and stood in front of her. 'There's no way my sister's going with you ever!'

'I can second that,' Sasuke stated, calmly walking to stand at Naruto's side.

Gaara took his position before Chika also. Jyukubi glared right at him. 'Nothing personal between us, but Chika and I have business of our own to carry out. We can't do that if she's with you.'

Jyukubi growled menacingly. The others took defensive stances, ready to fight if needed. His red slit eyes glowed. 'You'll all come to regret your decision. The day I come for Chika Uzumaki is the day you're going to discover you should have given her to me today!' with that he vanished before their eyes.

The others stared in horror at where he had just been standing. Naruto knelt at his sister's side once more. He discovered that unconsciousness had taken her. Kakashi walked over and knelt at her side. The others all checked the area to see if it were safe. Discovering the large area barren of trees and charred to complete black, they gasped in horror, blaming the boy from before for its destruction. The Hokage stood over Chika, his decision to protect her final. He wasn't going to lose her to some creeps, not that easily.

'Let's take her home,' he declared.

Kakashi gently picked her up and at the same time everyone turned around to return to the Leaf Village.
