W-W- I stopped talking long enough to steel my nerves and mask my terror. I knew that any sign of fear would make it harder for me. What did I do wrong? Krila, the Lord of Flight, grunted and turned around so that his back was facing me.

The village was silent. Not a single person could believe this. First: That the Lords of the Elements would even notice a tiny place like Darna. Second: That the population of Darna Village would now decrease by one, whatever happens.

Cameron shifted her hood a little, and I could see she was smiling reassuringly.

Its all. If all goes well, yous troubling you, isn't there? Cameron asked. I looked at her. Other than this, of course. she amended.

I turned my head so that I was looking at the ground. It both amazed and horrified me. It amazed me because I had never been far out of the village boundaries. It horrified me because this could very well be the last time Ire about ten miles from the Xyrule River. Once there, wes halfway across the continent! I exclaimed.

47.875 percent, to be exact. Krila said.

Whatre not going in circles, but walking around them. Cameron replied.

Why canre so arid that nothing is there but cracked rock.

And Is why Krila hasns been concentrating on speeding up our progress with his winds.

Now that she mentioned it, I had felt a gentle breeze blowing from our backs for most of the trip.

A few minutes later, when we got to the Xyrule River, Krila stopped the winds, and we slowed down considerably.

Exhausted. he said. And almost nightfall.

He sat down on a rock, and I could hear him breathing heavily.

Cameron nodded and followed his lead, sitting cross-legged on the ground. Good idea. Well complete the final half of the journey. she said.

I nodded and went to sit by the river, picking up a fallen stick and swirling it around in the water, startling a few Squin, who swam to a few inches away and continued whatever they were doing. I smiled. It was more peaceful here than I had thought it would be. I had imagined that the Lords of the Elements would have destroyed more than they seem to have. I was pretty sure that the Badlands had been their fault, but that was the only sign of destruction I had seen so far.

Still, I knew that was most likely a facade, and that they were evil. Why else would they take over Palmo? I missed Darna, but had no idea how to escape the two Lords that were leading me...

Cameron called my name, breaking me from my thoughts. I turned around. Krila was laying on the ground, snoring softly. Cameron was also laying down, but I could tell she was awake still.

She yawned and spoke sleepily. You might as well go to sleep too. And donll know the instant you act.

I stiffened slightly. I knew it was obvious I was thinking of escape, because in my situation, who wouldnre thinking because your mind uses electrical impulses to send commands. Itt the day to try. I laid down on the ground next to the river and closed my eyes.
