A/N: Sorry it's been so long. School started up again.
Tony grunted as he struggled against the webbing frantically, gritting his teeth and kicking his legs uselessly as he did. "Jesus fricking Christ, what is this stuff made of?!"
"It seems to be a thinning fluid loosely related to nylon, sir."
"Where the fuck did he get- Oh, nevermind, just... help me get out of this!"
"Sir, I hate to tell you this, but I am a computer system. I lack arms." Jarvis deadpanned.
Tony rolled his eyes in irritation, continuing to struggle. "Well, then get me someone who has them!"
"The rest of the Avengers, as well as Ms. Potts and Agent Coulson, are on their way up now."
Tony's eyes widened, and his squirming became even more erratic and hurried at that news. "What?! No! Stop the elevator, stop it! I don't want them to see me like this-!"
The elevator door dinged, letting out the team and the two others. "Tony?"
The genius glared upwards. "Thank you for nothing, you useless AI."
Steve ran over immediately, quickly pulling Tony out of the webbing. "What the hell is this stuff?"
Tony grimaced as he started to pull the string-like remnants of the web fluid off of himself. "Webbing. Or rather, a web-like fluid. It's what Spiderman uses."
"Spiderman?" Pepper asked as she walked over to help. "Did he break in and attack you?"
"Yeah, I'm pretty sure you can't actually break into your own house."
When he saw everyone else's bewildered faces, Tony groaned in frustration, pinching the bridge of his nose.
"Peter is Spiderman."
No one looked at all surprised.
"Uh, guys? Kinda just told you that my son is a vigilante with superpowers. I'd think that would be worthy of at least an incredulous 'what the hell'."
Bruce rubbed the back of his head nervously. "Well, to be honest Tony, I kind of already knew that."
"Wait, you knew? I thought that I was the only one Peter told!" Natasha commented incredulously.
"How'd you find out?" Clint asked.
"Honey, did you miss the part where I got thrown off a bridge and Spiderman- Wait, how do you know about it?"
"I saw the kid taking off from the roof once." Clint said, shrugging. "I see a lot from my hideout."
"So I wasn't the only one who knew?" Steve asked, sounding rather shocked at this information.
"Wh- How did you find out?!" Tony demanded furiously.
Steve smiled sheepishly. "Er... I caught him training once. He was climbing on the walls, so... I kinda figured it out pretty quickly..."
"Pepper?"
The redhead cleared her throat and looked away awkwardly. "I... I may have glimpsed the mask hanging out of his backpack... and found the web-slingers."
The brunet slapped his palm to his forehead in frustration. "I can't believe- Thor," He started, looking at the Norse god, his face desperate, "Thor, buddy, don't tell me you knew about this?"
"Actually, I knew from the beginning. The Spiderman and the Son of Stark have the same voice; I had thought it rather obvious."
Tony groaned, then looked over at Coulson. "What about you?"
The agent simply raised an eyebrow.
"Of course you knew, stupid question. Am I seriously the only person in this room who didn't know that my son was Spiderman?!"
Everyone in the room besides Tony looked away guiltily.
Well, okay, Coulson just looked vaguely disgruntled, but the sentiment was there.
"I hate all of you." He muttered, storming over to the runway.
"Where are you going?"
"Well, first, I'm going to find my lying, web-slinging son. Then, I'm going to ground him until he's thirty!" He replied angrily as he got onto the runway, his armor snapping on quickly. Without another word, he took off the second that the armor powered up, leaving behind a bunch of concerned Avengers.
"We should probably go after him." Steve said after a moment.
Both Natasha and Clint sat down on the sofa heavily. "You guys have fun with that. I'm done."
"Ditto."
Steve nodded, and within a few minutes the only people in the room were the two of them, Pepper, and Coulson.
"So who wants to take the quinjet and head to Vegas?"
Peter was very confused when he opened his eyes.
One minute, he was swinging through the air, heading for the Oscorp building, then suddenly he was shot with a dart, and everything went black.
Now, he was being carried by his father at twenty thousand feet.
"Dad?"
"You are in so much trouble."
Peter sighed. "I know. Look, I know that you're mad at me, and you've got every right to be, honestly, I'm a little mad at me too, but right now we need to get to Oscorp."
"Look behind you."
Peter twisted around, his eyes widening. "How did you-?"
"Pete, Jarvis picks up police scanners. You really think that a giant lizard stomping around a huge building filled with people would go unnoticed?"
Peter grinned beneath his mask. "Jarvis, I have I told you lately that I love you?"
"I do not believe so, Master Parker."
The second they landed, Tony put his son on the ground. "You go get your girl out, I'll take care of Connors."
Peter nodded. "Gotcha. Oh, and Dad? Thanks."
"No problem."
"No, really, thanks a lot. I'm really-"
"Kiddo, remember the giant lizard man who's about to turn everyone else into giant lizard people?"
"Oh, right. Later!"
Tony nodded, taking off to the top of the building. Peter ran inside, combing through the wrecked lab. He looked around frantically, searching for any sign of his girlfriend.
"Gwen? Gwen, are you here?!"
"... P... Peter..." He heard her call weakly from a corner of the room. He whipped his head around, running to her and kneeling by her side.
"Are you okay?"
She grimaced as she tried to sit up. "Well, I'm pretty sure my leg's broken, but other than that... I'm doing just fine." She pulled something out of her coat, showing it to him. "Finished that antidote."
Peter smiled, peeling off his mask and leaning in, kissing his girlfriend softly.
"I love you." He whispered as he pulled away.
Gwen's eyes widened in surprise. "Wh... What?"
Peter stared at her for a moment before his own eyes widened, flushing in embarrassment. "I-I mean, not just 'cause of the antidote! I love you in general, er, I mean, I've loved you for, I don't know, maybe forever, but-!"
Gwen rolled her eyes and sighed as she pulled her boyfriend in for another kiss. "You are such a dork." She grinned. "But you're my dork, and I love you too."
Peter grinned, leaning in for yet another kiss.
Of course, that happened to be the exact moment that Tony fell through the ceiling whilst wrestling with the Lizard.
"Dad?!"
"Mr. Stark?!"
"H-Hey, kids! Don't mind me, just-" At that moment, the Lizard gained the upperhand, slamming Tony into the wall and grasping the billionaire's throat. "On second thought, mind me, mind me!" Tony managed to choke out as the claws started to crush the armor slowly.
"Head's up!"
Something hit the Lizard in the back of the head, causing him to cry out and drop Tony, at which point Tony fired a quick repulsor beam at him, sending the beast flying back up to the roof.
"Steve?"
The soldier grinned as he picked his shield up, walking over and helping the other man up. "Somebody call for backup?"
"This is absolutely the weirdest thing that has ever happened to me. By far." Gwen stated as Peter picked her up. "Wait, is that redundant? Oh, god, I'm babbling, aren't I?"
"Little bit. Steve, I need you to get her out of here, plus anyone else who's still here." Peter ordered as he handed her to Steve. "Dad, help him out." He slipped his mask back on. "I'll take care of Connors."
"The hell you will!" Tony exclaimed, stalking over to his son. "I'm coming with you."
Peter groaned, rolling his eyes beneath the mask. "Dad-"
"Peter Benjamin Parker, I am not letting you go up there by your-"
"Dad." He interrupted. "This is my fault. I'm the one who helped Connors create the formula in the first place, I need to be the one who fixes this. Please."
Tony didn't say anything for a moment before letting the armor cover his face again. "You heard the man, Cap. Let's move." He dived out the window, then came right back up seconds later. "Oh, and you're grounded until you're thirty."
Peter rolled his eyes. "GO!"
When it was finally over, Peter's arm was broken, Connors was both back to normal and in police custody, and Captain Stacy was dead.
Also, he was grounded, though only until his arm healed.
Woop-dee-fricking-doo.
"This sucks."
"I know. It's kind of supposed to." Tony leaned up against the doorframe. "Have you talked to Gwen yet?"
Peter grimaced, laying back on his bed. "I... I can't. I can't see her anymore."
"... Did her dad tell you that?"
The teen said nothing, which made Tony sigh. "Peter-"
"I promised, Dad. I promised him I'd keep her out of danger."
"What, by breaking her heart?"
Peter didn't respond to that, and this time, Tony remained silent, instead walking over to his son's bed and dropping his cell phone next to him.
"Well, sometimes the best promises are the ones you can't keep," He said simply as he left the room. He lingered by the door for a moment, listening.
After a slight pause, he heard the tell-tale beeping of a number being dialed.
"Hi, can I speak to Gwen, please?"
Tony smiled.
"I still can't believe you two eloped."
Natasha grinned slyly at Bruce, twisting the ring on her finger. "Hey, I was already in the dress; might as well not let it go to waste, right, Clint?"
He didn't answer.
"Clint?"
She looked over to see that her husband was fast asleep on the couch, sighing as she stood up. "Maybe we should start calling you Night Owl, seeing as you sleep all day." She muttered as she spread a blanket on top of him.
"I'm fairly sure that there's a comic book character with that particular name already..."
Steve smiled, looking around the room. Then he frowned.
"Where's Tony?"
Tony sighed, staring out over the city.
How had his life gotten so... so... so damn weird without him noticing?
He was a superhero.
His son was also a superhero.
His entire fucking house was filled with superheroes.
And he was more than a little infatuated with his childhood hero/ rival for his father's attention/ first crush (fourteen year old Tony was more than a little freaked out by this realization, but he got over it).
Said hero seemed to return his feelings.
Last night, he'd fought with a giant lizard man.
Seriously, what the fuck?
"Tony?"
The genius jumped when he heard Steve's voice. "Jesus Christ, Rogers, don't scare me like that!"
The blonde smiled apologetically at him, making his heart skip a beat. "Sorry, didn't mean to sneak up on you. I was just wondering where you were. Is everything okay?"
Tony sighed tiredly, turning his head away from Steve. "I don't even know where to begin." He laughed humorlessly as he sat down, hugging his knees. "Honestly, I think that if I tried, it might take all day."
Steve didn't say anything for a moment before walking over and sitting down next to him. "Well, lucky for you, I've got plenty of time on my hands." He replied, smiling at the genius, who flushed even more.
Tony swallowed hard, unable to tear his eyes away from the soldier. "S... Steve?" He asked quietly after a moment of silence.
"Yeah?"
"... I kind of really want to kiss you right now."
No one should be allowed to look as attractive as Steve did when he blushed. "Really?"
"Y-Yeah."
Steve didn't respond for a moment, then leaned over, pressing his lips to the brunet's lightly, kissing him softly. Tony hesitated for barely a second before kissing him back, cupping the blonde's cheek as he leaned into him.
"You know," Steve commented once they broke away, "A few weeks ago, I would've sworn that you didn't like me."
"Admittedly, I didn't. Well, kind of. Mostly I didn't like you because Dad spent all of his time trying to find you when he wasn't working." He blushed a little more. "I... might've thought you were kinda hot, though."
Seriously, it was downright unfair how attractive Steve was when he blushed. "Really?"
"Well, yeah." He looked away. "You... you were kind of my first crush."
"On a guy?"
"On anyone." Tony laughed. "Kinda freaked me out when I was a kid."
Steve smiled at him, leaning over and pecking him on the cheek. "Well, if it's any consolation, I've never felt this way about a guy before."
"Not even my dad?"
Steve snorted. "Definitely not. As I've said before, Howard Stark was a damn good inventor, but he was an asshat."
"He was the king of asshats, Steve."
The soldier chuckled at that before kissing Tony again.
"Director Fury!"
The man turned around, and the agent saluted.
"Sir! We just got a report from our agents in Germany!" The man handed a file to the director. "They've... they've found something, sir."
Curious, Fury opened the file, narrowing his eye when he saw the report. "Is he alive?"
"Yes, sir. They've managed to defrost him. He's being flown in now."
"Do we know his name?"
"He says that his name is Barnes, sir. James Buchanan Barnes."
"... Well I'll be damned." He looked over at the agent. "Call Coulson, would you? I think that Captain Rogers might be interested in this."
