Episode 59: The Fate of the Balance Part 2

Yuni is staring awestruck at the massive monster standing behind Konton. It is the Supreme Chaos Deity - Ruler of Eternity (Chaos/Level 12/Divine-Beast/Effect/ATK 5000/DEF 5000). All Yuni has on the field is Temporax, the Cyber-Tech Magician of Time (Dark/Level 9/Spellcaster/Evolution/ATK 3500/DEF 3100). Konton is laughing maniacally. He says, "No one has ever managed to even come close to destroying the grand ruler of Chaos! He is a god! You can not hope to win this duel!"

Yuni demands, "What happened!? I was supposed to defeat you, where did that monster come from!?"

Konton smiles. He says, "I really should be thanking you. Because it only because of you that I was able to summon my mighty beast."

Yuni gasps. He demands, "What do you mean!? What did I do!?"

Konton sighs. "Do I have to explain everything to you? You're so annoying." He sighs again. "But fine, I shall enlighten you on what happened. My two monsters, the ones that you just banished, you see, are known as the heralds for a good reason. While separately they hail the coming of Genesis or Apocalypse, when they are together, they herald the coming of Chaos. Each of them has a special effect that activates when they're banished. The Chaos-Destiny Shining Soldier is able to add the Supreme Chaos Deity from my deck to my hand, and the Chaos-Doom Overlord Dragon allows me to banish a Light and Dark monster from my grave in order to summon the Supreme Chaos Deity."

Yuni looks horrorstruck. He says, "So then…you summoned him because I banished your monsters with the Cyber-Tech Spellbook of Banishment."

Konton exclaims, "Bingo, we have a winner! Somebody get this kid a prize!" He looks thoughtful for a few moments, and then adds, "I know the perfect prize!" He suddenly says with anger, "You will be destroyed at the hands of the Chaos Deity!" He calms down again. "I think that that's a pretty nice prize and honor."

Yuni looks hopeless. He thinks, No! My entire strategy for this duel was going to be stopping him from getting that monster out. How can I compete with the a God of Chaos?

Apophis asserts, Do not lose hope Ragnarok! This duel is not yet over. While it is true that no one has yet to defeat the Deck of Chaos, let alone the Supreme Chaos Deity, you are not like any of those before.

Yuni asks, What do you mean?

I have yet to tell you this, but when I was overseeing your trials, I sensed something in you, something that I have never before sensed within a mortal.

And what's that?

I sensed a drive. An absolute determination and devotion. It is your very defining characteristic. I knew from the moment that you first set foot into my temple that you held such a trait, but I didn't know its true potential until you dueled me. The will you showed in that duel, along with the will you showed when you resisted the primal urges of Darkness to destroy Konton in the second trial, were stupendous. At first I doubted that any could beat the Deck of Chaos, but since I have meet you, I realized that I might just be wrong. If anyone could do this, it's you Lord Ragnarok. Now go, embrace your destiny, and beat the unbeatable, conquer the unconquerable, and find hope in the hopeless.

A newfound look of determination hits Yuni's face. Konton looks surprised. He says, "You are staring at the most powerful being to ever exist, a creature that cannot be beaten, and yet you smile. What is wrong with you?"

Yuni says, "If there is one thing that I have learned, its that nothing is unbeatable! I am Lord Ragnarok, the true Lord of Chaos, and I shall restore order to the Balance!"

Konton frowns. "If that is what you think, then prove it! If you think that you can do what hundreds before you have failed to do, than go ahead, make my day! You are insignificant! You mean absolutely nothing in the end! You are but another blip in the never-ending stream of the multiverse! What makes you think that you're so special!?"

Yuni smiles, seeing that he's getting to Konton. He says, "I should be asking you the same thing. What makes you so important that you can just become the ruler of all of Chaos."

Konton is infuriated. He screams, "I am the Lord of Chaos! I am the most important being to ever exist! I am the first mortal take control of the Realm of Chaos! Me! You are nothing!"

"Then you're going to have to prove it! I set a card and end my turn (Yuni's hand: 1)!" Since it's the end of the turn, Temporax devolves into Cyber-Tech Magician (Dark/Level 7/Spellcaster/Effect/ATK 2500/DEF 2100).

Konton draws. He asserts, "You made the wrong decision making me angry! All you have to protect yourself is an attack position monster with half the attack of my monster! You can't hope to win!" He looks at his hand. "I summon Chaos Aura Guard (Light/Level 3/Fairy/Effect/ATK 0/DEF 1800) in defense position!" The monster is a body of golden light, in defensive position. Konton commands, "Now, Supreme Chaos Deity, attack the Cyber-Tech Magician, Chaos Judgment!"

Yuni declares, "You forgot about my facedown card!"

"It doesn't matter! You can't target my Deity with any effect!"

"Then it's a good thing that I'm not targeting any cards except my own! I activate Swords of Sealing Light! I activate this card by tributing my Cyber-Tech Magician, and then, as long as you control more monsters than me, you can't declare any attacks! The downfall is that if I ever control more monsters than you, this card destroys itself." Several large swords made out golden light fly out of Yuni's card and land in a circle around Konton and his monsters.

Konton looks aggravated. He says, "So you have stopped me from attacking, very clever. But it's going to take a whole lot more then cleverness to defeat me! You bought yourself another turn. Go ahead, amuse me (Konton's hand: 2)."

Yuni draws and looks at his hand. He observes, I've got nothing more to help me. I really need to get a lucky draw. Who knows how much longer my swords can hold up. I need something.

Konton observes, "Judging by that look on your face, I'd think that you're out of options. Is that so?"

Yuni responds, "As far as you know. Maybe I'm just playing tricks on you."

"Touché, Yuni, touché."

Yuni says, "So, while leaving you clueless as to my true intentions, I end my turn (Yuni's hand: 2)"

Konton draws. He says, "While you might just be trying to trick me, I chose to decide that you aren't. I summon Chaos Shadow Guard (Dark/Level 3/Fiend/Effect/ATK 0/DEF 1800)." The monster looks very similar to Konton's Aura Guard, except it is made out of dark shadows instead of light. Konton threatens menacingly, "You might be holding back my Supreme Chaos Deity for now, but consider this, it is only a matter of time until I draw a card that will put an end to your swords. When that happens, you will have absolutely nothing to stop my attack, and you will be completely and utterly destroyed. Your countdown to doom has already begun, and the clock is reaching zero. There is no way you can survive this duel (Konton's hand: 2)."

Yuni draws, and then smiles. He says, "We'll just have to see about that. I summon Cyber-Tech Transponder (Dark/Level 2/Machine/Effect/ATK 700/DEF 1000)! I'll immediately activate its effect and tribute it in order special summon a Cyber-Tech monster from my deck with no defense points. I'll summon Cyber-Tech Illumi-Dragon (Light/Level 8/Dragon/Effect/ATK 2800/DEF 0)!" The monster that appears on the field is a serpentine, white dragon. It glows golden, and is armored with several cybernetic devices.

Konton sneers, "And what is that monster supposed to do?"

Yuni responds, "Plenty, for you see, the effect of my monster makes it so that if it destroys a monster in defense position, then it destroys all monsters you control with higher defense points than the destroyed monster. Since the effect doesn't target, all I have to do is attack one of your defense position monsters, and your Chaos Deity is destroyed."

Konton snickers. He says, "If that's what you think, go ahead and try. Let's see where your master plan leads."

Yuni says with determination, "All right then, let's do just that. Cyber-Tech Illumi-Dragon, attack Chaos Shadow Guard, Light Force Blast Attack!" Yuni's monster roars, and then charges a beam of energy in its mouth. After several moments of charging, it fires the beam at Konton's monster. Right before the beam hits, Konton's Aura Guard glows brightly, and the beam makes a 90 degree turns towards that monster. As soon as its about hit the new target, Shadow Guard glows darkly, and the attack is redirected once more. This pattern repeats several times, with the attack growing smaller every time, until it eventually fades completely away. Upon watching this event, Yuni demands, "Hey, what gives!?"

Konton bursts out in laughter and replies, "You didn't even consider the effects of my two monsters! My Chaos Shadow Guard stops you from attacking Light attribute monsters, while my Chaos Aura Guard protects my Dark attribute monsters, and since Chaos attribute counts as both Light and Dark, that means you can't attack a single one of my monsters!

Yuni shouts, "No, that was my last hope!"

Konton replies, "Boo hoo, poor, little Yuni."

Yuni, looking unsure of himself, says, "Alright, fine. I end my turn (Yuni's hand: 2)."

Konton draws. He smiles, and says, "It looks like your time has run out. I activate Chaos Storm! Since I control both a Light and a Dark monster, I can destroy all spell and trap cards on the field! Your Swords of Sealing Light are history!" A massive whirlwind of light and dark energies swirl around the field, and blow away the swords from Yuni's card.

Yuni shouts out, "No!"

"Now your last line of defense is gone! Supreme Chaos Deity, attack Cyber-Tech Illumi-Dragon, and deplete the last of Yuni's life points." The Chaos Deity unleashes its attack upon Yuni's monster, destroying it. "You lose Yuni!"

Yuni responds, "Not yet! I activate the effect of Cyber-Tech Force Fielder by discarding it! Its effect cuts the damage I take in half (Yuni's LP: 400)!" As soon as Yuni's life points drop below 1000, he begins to fade away.

Konton observes, "You might have held on, but look at you, you're at the verge of disappearing for ever. How about this, we'll make a deal. You surrender now, and I'll make your demise quick and painless."

Yuni says, "Never!"

With sudden rage, Konton responds, "Then your destruction will be cruel, and full of pain! I will torture you to the brink of madness! Your last thoughts will be how you wished that you had accepted my offer!" He suddenly calms down. "You don't want that, do you?"

"I will never give up! I will defeat you somehow! Just wait and see!"

Konton shakes his head. "Fine, but you are only fooling yourself. I set a card and end my turn (Konton's hand: 1)."

Yuni's hand hovers over his deck. He thinks in despair, Maybe he's right. Maybe I'm only fooling myself. What can I do? He's already defeated Temporax, and the only monster I have stronger than him is Chronos, the Temporal Lord, but I can't even use him in this dimension. What can I possibly do?

Apophis asserts, No Ragnarok! You are a Lord of Chaos! A Lord of Chaos never admits defeat! Draw your card and turn this duel around!

Yuni takes a deep breath and slowly draws his card. It is Monster Reborn. Yuni thinks, A good card, but all it can do is defend me.

No Ragnarok, it is the perfect card! It is time for you to discover your full power! Perform a Chaos Evolution!

A newfound look of determination crosses Yuni's face. He declares, "I activate Monster Reborn and summon Cyber-Tech Magician back from the grave!"

Konton mocks, "That pathetic monster did nothing before. It won't do anything this time!"

"No, this time it will be different!" Light and Dark energy begins to swirl around Yuni. "I banish Cyber-Tech Seraphim and Cyber-Tech Shadow Engine!" Cyber-Tech Magician begins to glow a golden light. Yuni's eyes turn gold and dark purple, and the yin-yang on the back of his hand glows. Yuni chants, "O, Will of Chaos, hear my plead, grant me the power that I need! White as day, black as night, Cyber-Tech Magician, unleash your might!" Yuni holds his hand up to the sky, and light and dark energy swirl around it and condense into a card, which Yuni plays. "I Chaos Evolve Cyber-Tech Magician into Discordon, the Cyber-Tech Magician of Chaos (Light/Level 9/Spellcaster/Evolution/ATK 3300/DEF 2900)!" Yuni's magician emerges completely changed. It now wears golden armor with a white trim, and the armor has many elegant flares and protrusions. Its conical helmet curves to the side now, and splits into two parts, each facing one side, with one side white, and the other black. The hologram projector on its staff now projects a yin-yang.

Konton looks unsettled for a moment, but quickly regains his composure. He states, "Is that supposed to scare me?"

Yuni says, "Yes, it should! This card will be your undoing! First off, when it's summoned, Discordon negates the effects off all face up cards on the field! Go Discordon, unleash your Chaos Sealing!" Yuni's monster waves its staff, and all of Konton's monsters' colors turn black and white. Yuni continues, "Now I'll activate the Cyber-Tech Spellbook of Drawing, in order to draw two cards!" Yuni swipes the top two cards off of his deck. He thinks, Not what I needed, but I still have one more shot. He says aloud, "Now I activate the effect of Discordon, and banish a Cyber-Tech Spellbook card from my grave in order to activate its effect! I'll do that to my Spellbook of Drawing, and draw two more cards!" He swipes two more cards. Perfect. "Now I activate the Cyber-Tech Spellbook of Disaster! This card may stop my monster from inflicting any battle damage, but what it can do is allow it to attack twice. Then, for every monster it destroys by battle, it can destroy another card by effect!" Discordon wields the new spellbook. Yuni commands, "Now, since your effects are negated, I can attack, as well as target your Chaos Deity! Discordon, attack Chaos Aura Guard, Yin-Yang Stream!" Yuni's monster releases a blast of white and black energy.

Konton declares, "I won't allow this to happen! I activate my facedown, Dimensional Chaos Shift!" All of Konton's monsters are swallowed up by a vortex. Discordon's attack is cancelled.

Yuni demands, "What happened!?"

Konton responds, "My card banishes all Light and Dark monsters I control, and then ends the turn."

Yuni looks upset. He says, "Fine, but in order to prevent my monster from devolving, I'll banish Cyber-Tech Caller and Cyber-Tech Spirit (Yuni's hand: 5)."

Konton draws, and then all of his monsters reappear on the field. He says, "Since its my Standby Phase, all of my monsters return. The best part is, their effects are back as well!" Yuni looks annoyed. Konton continues, "Let's finish this once and for all. Supreme Chaos Deity, attack Discordon!"

Yuni declares, "I activate the effect of Discordon and banish the Cyber-Tech Spellbook of Defense that I sent to my grave earlier in order to activate its effect! This card protects my Cyber-Tech Magician monsters from being destroyed, and protects me from battle damage!"

Konton shouts with rage, "How dare you continue to resist me!? I Will destroy you!" He calms down and says, "But all of that in time. Go ahead, and make your pathetic last move (Konton's hand: 2)."

Yuni prepares to draw. Apophis says, Now Yuni, it is time to go one step further! Use a Chaos Draw!

Yuni nods. His eyes glow. He holds his hand up towards the sky and black and white energy begins to swirl around his hand. The yin-yang glows again. He announces, "Go, Chaos Draw!" The top card of Yuni's deck glows, and he dramatically draws it. He looks at the cards and gasps. He thinks, That card isn't in my deck!

Apophis responds, Anything is possible in a Chaos Draw.

Yuni says, "I activate Chaos Relic: Twilight Engine of Alzatar!"

Konton looks completely surprised. He exclaims, "A Chaos Relic! How did you get a Chaos Relic!"

Yuni quotes, "Anything is possible with a Chaos Draw!" Yuni asks, What's so special about a Chaos Relic?

Apophis answers, The Chaos Relics were thought to be only legend. They were a series of legendary machines and weapons created by a long-lost civilization. One that predated all others. According to legend, they made their way from your dimension to this one, and created their devices. According to legend, only the purest of heart, and greatest of Chaos, can pull them out.

Yuni grins. He says aloud, "The Engine of Alzatar allows me to draw two cards if I control a Chaos monster." Yuni thinks, Do you think I can do it?

Apophis says, Go for it.

Yuni holds his hand to the sky once more. Konton stares at him in disbelief. He says, "You wouldn't! You can't!"

Yuni says, "Yes, I can! Go, Double Chaos Draw!" Yuni repeats the process of the Chaos Draw, and draws two cards. He says, "I equip Discordon the Cyber-Tech Magician of Chaos with Chaos Relic: Shining Sword of Zalten and Chaos Relic: Darkness Shield of Ganrue!" Discordon trades out its staff for a sword made of pure light, and a shield made out of shadows. He continues, "I use the effect of Discordon to banish the Cyber-Tech Spellbook of Banishment, in order to banish your two Chaos Guards!" Konton's monsters disappear. "Now Discordon, attack the Supreme Chaos Deity!"

Konton looks shocked. He says, "And they call me the crazy! What do you think that you're doing!

"I'm activating the effects of my Chaos Relics! The Shield of Ganrue negates the effect of any monster I attack!"

Konton argues, "But that effect targets, and you can't target the Chaos Deity!"

"Ganrue's effect makes it so that that doesn't matter!" Shadows are sent out of the shield and shroud the Chaos Deity.

"Well I still have more attack than you!"

"That's were the Sword of Zalten comes in! Since my monster is attacking a monster with a higher attack, the Sword of Zalten drains the attack of yours, and gives my monster the same amount!" A beam of light shoots from the sword and hit's the Chaos Deity (Chaos Deity's ATK: 0) (Discordon's ATK: 8300). "Destroy the Supreme Chaos Deity!" Discordon charges at the monster and jumps into the air. It raises up above the heads of the monster and slashes downwards, destroying it (Konton's LP: 0). Konton is blasted back.

The Duel Computer announces, "Yuni Oha wins."

Yuni jumps for joy. He shouts, "I did it! I finally did it!"

Apophis comments, Good job Lord Ragnarok! You truly are a great Lord of Chaos. You have returned the Balance.

Konton starts to get up, but quickly falls back down. He begins to fade away in the same way the Apep did. Yuni steps closer to him. Konton looks at Yuni, with extreme hatred in his eyes. He says, "No! I will not be denied! I am the Lord of Chaos! I cannot be beat!" He starts to break down crying. "I…cannot…be beat…You can't do this to me…"

Yuni says, "I just did. Your reign of darkness is over."

The Chaos Sorcerer, in his Lightray Sorcerer form, steps forward and says, "Never again will you spread your Darkness."

Konton, still crying, shouts out, "No! I am almighty…I am undefeatable…How? How did you do it?"

Yuni says, "I did it because in the end, the Balance will always correct itself."

Konton, who is almost completely faded away, goes through a sudden spasm of intense pain. After it stops, a shadowy aura leaves Konton and disappears. A look of peace crosses his face. He says calmly and meekly, "Thank you…you have saved me…" Konton disappears.

Chaos Sorcerer comments, "In defeating him, you have freed him of his dark emotions. He was, if only for a moment, his old self."

Yuni says, "And that, is a great thing."

Suddenly the voice of the Chaos Deity booms out, "Yuni Oha, exit the temple at once."

Yuni comments, "I guess that we'd better get going then."

Yuni and the Chaos Sorcerer step outside of the temple into the nighttime of the Chaos Realm. The Supreme Chaos Deity stands out there as well. Yuni looks to the side and notices the Chaos Emperor Dragon and the Black Luster Soldier. He looks shocked and prepares for a fight.

Chaos Emperor Dragon says, "Do not fear! We are no longer under dark influences!"

Yuni settles down and turns towards the Chaos Deity. He asks, "Why did you ask me out here?" After a second of thinking, he adds, "O, great one."

The Chaos Deity merely points to the sky. Yuni looks over just in time to see it change from night back to its normal twilight. The Chaos Deity states, "Thanks to your effort, twilight has returned once more to the Realm of Chaos. I am in your debt Yuni Oha."

Yuni thinks for a few moments and says, "No, it's not twilight. Its dawn."

"What do you mean?"

"Twilight infers a period of time before darkness, but dawn is a new beginning. A chance at light and purity."

Chaos Deity nods slowly. He says, "You are wise beyond your years Yuni Oha. You are truly worthy of being a Lord of Chaos."

Yuni bows and says, "Thank you. I am honored to serve you."

The Chaos Deity looks into the air and after a few moments he says, "Something is wrong. You must return to your world at once!"

Yuni asks, "What!? What is it!?"

"It is best that I show you." He waves his hand, and a portal appears in the air in front of Yuni, in it, he sees his own body, being controlled by Yugi, but it has a shadowy, red aura around it.

Yugi shouts with rage, "You have caused me nothing but pain! You shall be destroyed! You will know the pain that you have put Yuni through! I banish your soul to the Shadow Realm!"

The Chaos Deity says, "The one controlling your body has given into Darkness. You must calm his rage."

Yuni says "Yes, of course. What about Apophis?"

Chaos Sorcerer says, "I shall act as a host body and return him to his temple."

Yuni nods. Apophis says, Farewell Ragnarok. May Chaos be on your side during your journeys.

Yuni thinks, The same to you.

Apophis exits Yuni's body and flies to the Chaos Sorcerer's. The Chaos Deity says, "Step through the portal and return to your earthly body.

Yuni nods once more and steps through the portal. He is back in his own body, standing over the Disciple of Darkness, Ruin, who is bound by the Spellbinding Circle about to have his soul banished. Yuni says, No Yugi! Don't give into the Darkness! Now more than ever, we must protect the Balance of Chaos!

Yugi drops his hand. The Spellbinding Circle around Ruin disappears. Ruin quickly disappears into the shadows. Tears start to pour from Yugi's eyes.

Brutus, from up above, calls down, "What is it Yugi!?"

Yugi says meekly, "It's Yuni…he's back."

Back in the Realm of Chaos, the Chaos Sorcerer is approaching the Temple of the Balance. Apophis exits his body and says, "It has been many millennia since I last left this place. It is good to be home."

Chaos Sorcerer says, "I'm sure it is."

The two go up the steps, but stop when they see a shadowy figure standing on top of the stairs. Apophis demands, "What are you doing here!?"

The figure says, "I have come to claim what is rightfully mine, but to do that, I must first defeat you."

"I don't know who you think you are, but no one can defeat-" He's cut off as a blast a dark energy is sent at him by the figure. Apophis dodges out of the way and breathes black and white fire at the figure. The figure disappears, and reappears above Apophis, he fires a massive beam of shadows straight down, hitting Apophis, and knocking him to the floor.

Chaos Sorcerer shouts, "How dare you!" He charges at the figure and creates a ball of light energy and unleashes it at the figure. the figure catches it, and throws it back, knocking down the Chaos Sorcerer.

The figure looks at the two on the ground. He says, "And I thought that you two might actually pose a challenge. Pathetic." He turns around and walks into the temple. A few moments later, he reemerges holding a gold and purple, conical relic of some kind. He says, "The Chaos Siphon is mine."

Apophis, weak and defeated on the ground, asks feebly, "Who are you…?"

The figure answers, "I have been called many names over the millennia. The Atlantians knew me as Ottikus. The ancient Egyptians called me Otuamen. 5,000 years ago, I went by the name Otik. Today, mortals call me Otto." The figure steps into the light, revealing that he is none other than Otto.

Apophis says with shock, "Impossible…you are Ottiuk…the Spirit of Darkness…"

Otto smiles, "That's what the Yugohans called me." Otto disappears.
