Elsa's face was etched with worry as Sven carried both her and Kristoff, bouncing on the animals back as he rushed towards the castle. With each click of Sven's hooves, Kristoff winced with pain- the blood from Pitch's stab wound had dried, but with cold wind and harsh conditions, it looked like it was not going to heal properly unless he was taken to a doctor. His face had begun to pale, cheeks less rosy than before. The frost on his arm and stopped spreading, thankfully, but it didn't look like it was going away either.
"You'll be okay, Kristoff," Elsa told him, as comforting as she could. He coughed in reply. She knew that there was no use- there was no use in anything anymore. The kingdom was frozen because of her. Kristoff was injured because of her. Anna and Jack…
Jack…. Elsa thought, feeling tears began to sting her eyes. She wiped them away furiously. She had to stop crying so much, especially with the situation that they were in. Peering through the harsh winds, Elsa suddenly, gasped- they were approaching the gate!
"Kristoff!" Elsa said, suddenly elated, "Kristoff, you're going to be okay!"
"Wh-what….?" he asked feebly, every movement hurting. He knew he was losing his strength. He knew he was most likely not going to make it. Apparently, Elsa knew this as well, her brow furrowing.
"Kristoff, I-I apologize…" she said, trailing off, although he probably couldn't hear her over the winds anyway. But Kristoff shook his head. It wasn't Elsa's fault.
"I-it's okay…" he managed to get out, shivering. They were till bouncing upon Sven's back, and they could feel his breathing as they moved, hear his rough gasps- carrying two people was tiring for him, obviously.
"No!" Elsa protested, "it isn't! I ran away! I ditched everyone!"
"Everyone makes mistakes, elsa," he said quietly, almost unable to be heard, "as long as you come home, I'm sure Anna will forgive you…." Elsa noticed as Kristoff's face fell at Anna's name. She was home, but she was with her supposed true love. Prince Hans of the Southern Isles. Kristoff knew he would never be able to truly tell Anna how he felt, with her being engaged, soon to be married…
"I'm sure Anna will appreciate everything you've done," Elsa top shim gently, Kristoff heaving a sigh, pain shooting up his abdomen. Since they weren't watching where they were going, they didn't realize that Sven had approached the gates, the Guardians waiting for them outside the doors, wind blasting their hair this way and that, playing with the hem of their clothes. Sven slid to a stop, nearly toppling over North.
"Reindeer?" he asked, his thick Russian accent making his speech almost unrecognizable, until he shouted happily, "reindeer! Kristoff and Elsa-"
"Quick! Kristoff needs a doctor!" Elsa cried, jumping off Sven and going to help Kristoff down. Struggling, she tried to get him into a sitting position, but it was no use. Kristoff' was too heavy for her to carry.
"What happened?" North asked as he reached over, Picking Kristoff up, letting him settle in his arms. Kristoff winced, letting out a cry of agony. That's when North noticed it- the stab wound in his side, dried blood covering his dampened clothes. Elsa clasped her hands, rubbing at her fingers with worry.
"Is there anything we can do?' she asked. North looked around- he highly doubted the gates would be reopened again, but they and to do something….
"You go quick for doctor inside castle!" he ordered. Elsa was taken aback- as Queen, she should have been giving the orders! But under these circumstances, there's no need for titles… she realized. Nodding, she hitched up the skirt of her ice dress, heels clicking as she ran. They watched as she tugged open the gates- "Wow, she's strong!" was Bunny's comment- and ran inside, leaving them to stand in the blistering cold winds. North jutted his head at Sandy, "Sandy! Come over here! Quick!"
Sandy picked up his head. Visions of Elsa were still dancing above Jack's head, keeping him well distracted from what was going on. Floating over, he raised his hands, umping once he saw Kristoff in North's arms.
"Think you can heal him?" North asked. Creasing his brow, Sandy pouted with a nod, pointing to the ground- "Lay him down so I can see," his actions said. North obliged, watching as Sandy cracked his knuckles before getting to work. Sandy eyes the ice on the ice-cutters arm- that was definitely going to be difficult.
As soon as Sandy weaved his sand into a ball, placing his small hands over Kristoff's wounds, they heard it.
Elsa's scream, high-pitched and full of terror.
"Jack!" came Tooth's cry, and North hipped his head to look. Jack had bolted upright, his head dissipating the sand figurine that create Elsa, he golden sand littering the floor of the sleigh as it fell. Grabbing his staff, Jack tried his best to jump out of the sleigh, the wind trying to rip the thing from his hands immediately. Instead of landing on his feet, he crashed on his side, the ice cracking beneath him. As Elsa' voice echoed on the wind, the ice clutching desperately onto Kristoff shattered, littering the ground. Well, that makes my job easier, Sandy thought as North began to panic, Tooth and Bunny unsure of what they themselves should be doing to help.
"Sandy heal Christopher now!" North ordered as he ran at Jack.
"It's… Kristoff!" Kristoff managed to cough as he felt Sandy place his two extremely small hands on him. "What are you doing?!" Sandy was silent, instead weaving his golden dream sand so it created a web over his wound. He could hear Jack fighting with North and the others, but he was focused on Sandy, whatever was happening on his stomach.
The sand seemed to sep into the wound slowly, like water dripping from a faucet. A sudden warmth spread through Kristoff's veins, quite frankly freaking him out.
"Stop it!" he cried at the little man, "sto- stop it! That's weird!" Indeed, it felt weird, but he gasped as he saw the wound closing up, Sandy smiling as the wound was healed completely, leaving nothing but a rip in the fabric of his woolen tunic.
The two shared an awkward gaze, Kristoff apologizing sheepishly, "I, uh- sorry, little man-"
"Wind!" Jack's voice bike through their awkward exchange, "t-take me to the castle!" Kristoff and Sandman sent their eyes skyward, watching Jakc struggle to fly over the gate, his staff looking as if it was going to be wrenched away from him by invisible hands. Sven cocked his head curiously.
"Kristoff!" North exclaimed, turning their attention towards him, "Kristoff, get on reindeer and get help!" Kristoff dusted himself off as he stood- surprisingly, there was no more pain- asking, "But you have a sleigh!"
"And? We need to get Jack!" North said, "and he is after Queen!"
"Why does that concern me?!" Kristoff yelled, "I brought Elsa back, didn't I?! To add, Anna is now with her 'true love'! Why do you want me to get involved anymore?!" The guardians exchanged glances- there was no mention of Anna, so why had he brought her up? Kristoff realized his mistake and began blushing furiously, jogging over to Sven who wagged his tail happily, leaving down so Kristoff could dump on his back.
"Thanks for the help, but I should go!" he exclaimed as he and Sven gallop away, although they probably couldn't hear him due to the pick up of the wind, howling and screaming in his ears. Once he felt he was far enough away, he shot a look over his shoulder at the castle. At the gates. Although he really wanted to look at her. The winds began to pick up, screeching and howling like a banshee.
"I'm sorry," he mumbled sadly, "I'm so sorry, Anna. I hope you're happy now."
