The first thing Elsa felt when she awoke was a thin pillow under her head. A thin wool blanket was spread across her, trying its best to keep her warm. Getting up, her feet hit the floor- the heels of her shoes clacked against rough cut stones cemented into the ground. What…? she thought, getting up. The blanket fell in a heap on the ground.
Blue eyes darting back and forth, she noticed the walls were made of the same dark stone, a glass window the only decoration on the wall. Cautiously, she went over, only to have her arms jerked back tightly.
"What is this?!" she whispered to herself in panic. Her hands were encased some sort of chain, completely covered by metal, chains linking themselves to a rounded hook in the ground. She shook her head. This couldn't be happening… She gasped as she heard footsteps, and she backed away slowly to the bed.
The door creaked open to reveal Hans, carrying a small lantern that flickered with each step he took, the heels of his boots smacking the stones. With his free hand he was rubbing his arms, trying to keep warm.
"Why are you doing this?!" Elsa asked him, "I'm a danger to Arendelle, I-"
"It was better then letting them kill you!" Hans cut her off. If I convince her, maybe it would be easier to get rid of her later… he thought, creasing his eyebrows with what he hoped was worry. There was a crackling sound, and both people looked down at Elsa's hands. Ice had begun to spread over the bonds, freezing them shut.
"G-get Anna!" Elsa pleaded, "tell her-"
"Anna has not returned," Hans interrupted, a cloud of breath escaping from his mouth before evaporating into the cold air. Elsa winded her blue eyes, shocked. No… her brain screamed, no!
Elsa struggled to regain her voice as she took a step back. The chains clinked and clacked against one another, the slack in the beginning to tighten as she got closer to the window. Hans leaned to her.
"Stop this winter," he said, "please-"
"Don't you see?" she snapped, "I can't!" Hans opened his mouth to say something back, but found he didn't have the words. This will be more difficult then i thought apparently, he realized, I mean, where is Pitch when I need him? Of course, it didn't matter anymore.
"Please," Elsa cried, her voice echoing, "you have to make them let me go!"
"I'll see what I can do," he said reluctantly before going to the door, slamming it shut before he exited. Elsa heaved a sigh, the slam of the door sounding like a death sentence. For her, it probably was. She turned her attention back to the window, trying hr best to get as close to it as she could before the chains were pulled taught. She gasped, watching wind and snow fly past.
"What have I done…..?"
More crackling broke through her thoughts- the ice had begun to slither up the walls, creep through the stone walls. Shaking her head, she watched as the ice on the chains got thicker, until it looked almost unbreakable.
"No!" she cried, tears beginning to run down her face, "no-"
And then it cracked, revealing her pale slender hands beneath them. The pieces fell to the ground, and there was a sudden boom as the wall behind her crumbled, ice breaking through, destroying ti completely. Elsa looked at the huge hole, then back a the door. Already she could hear footsteps running in her direction, getting louder and louder.
"I'm sorry, Anna," she whimpered before ducking out of the cell and into the outside world, diving into her blizzard until the wind devoured her completely.
