'If there's a prize for rotten judgement,' Kagome watched as Sesshomaru made breakfast. 'I guess I've already won that. No man is worth the aggravation. That's ancient history; been there, done that.'

Sesshomaru placed a plate of pancakes in front of her and then went to get Rin dressed and ready to go.

'Who'd you think you're kidding, he's the Earth and Heaven to ya. Try to keep it hidden, honey, we can right through you. Girl, you can't conceal it; we know how you're feeling, and who you're thinking of.'

Kagome shook away her inner thoughts.

'No chance. No way. I won't say it.'

'You swoon, you sigh, why deny it?'

'It's too cliche. I won't say I'm in love.'

Rin bounded into the kitchen, taking the spot across from the raven-haired girl at war with herself.

"Morning, Kagome-chan!" Rin smiled, putting pancakes into her mouth.

"Good morning, Rin." Kagome greeted, sliding the stuffed dog across the table. "That you for lending him to me. What's his name?"

"Rufus." Rin patted the white dog.

Sesshomaru sighed as he strode in.

'I thought my heart had learned it's lesson.' Kagome frowned, watching as his muscles rippled under the dress shirt he wore. 'It feels so good when you start out. My head is screaming 'Get a grip, girl. Unless you're dying to cry your heart out!'

'You keep on denying who you are and how your feeling. Baby, we're not buying. Hon, we saw ya hit the ceiling. Face it like a grown-up. When you gonna own up that you got it bad? You're doing flips read my lips, you're in love!'

Rin knowingly glanced between her father and new friend as they dropped her off for school.

Sometimes a child's sight was all you needed to see two people in love.
