This chapter is likely to be the last one for the year, as I am headed on holidays on December 26th and not returning until January 4th and I am not sure if I will have internet connection to post. "Okay", Beca said, a pen poised in her left hand.

(What were the chances that she'd fall in love with a lefty? Chloe had chuckled a little too hard when she realised too that Jesse was left handed.)

"So we're moving the non-necessities into the new house and waiting for that to settle, and once we're all in the new house, we'll put this one on the market", Jesse said. "That's what we agreed on?"

"I think that's what we've agreed on".

"Hello!" Chloe called brightly, as she and Tom made their way into Beca's house.

"Hi", Beca said from the kitchen table. Plans were spread out between the brunette and Jesse, a plate of chocolate chip cookies in the middle of them.

(It was literally like walking into a scene from a magazine. Except for the boxes surrounding their workspace, from where Beca had decided she needed to pack up her kitchen immediately.)

"What's happening here?"

"We're trying to work out what's staying, what's going", Beca informed her, motioning to the seat beside her.

"Because, essentially, we have two houses full of furniture", Jesse added. "The only things we don't have two of are the kids' beds".

(Brody had thrown a tantrum like Jesse had never seen before when he thought they were getting rid of his bed. "NO! I LOVE MY BED! ITS MINE! I'M KEEPING IT DADDY! MY BED'S COMING TOO!")

"Everyone's coming", Chloe said as an afterthought, nodding. "We've decided we're doing dinner at your house".

"Pizza", Beca corrected. "I haven't done the grocery shopping".

(It wasn't that she hadn't done the grocery shopping. It was that what had lasted the four of them a week lasted the eight of them two days.)

"Pizza's fine", Stacie shrugged, walking in the door with Cynthia Rose and Fat Amy. "So, when we do we get to see the house? Oh, Jesse, Donald and Lily are just coming now".

(Donald and Lily were a couple that none of them suspected.)

"When are you officially moving in?" Cynthia Rose checked.

"Well, Jesse's house is on the market now, which is why a lot of his stuff is here", Beca explained. "We've got six weeks to settle the house and move our things in. so, sometime between now and the next six weeks".

"Are you having a housewarming party?"

"I'm sure we can combine a housewarming party with one of their birthdays", Jesse chuckled. "Ben's first, his is in April".

"Dad!" Ben poked his head into the door, as if he had heard them. "What are we gonna do for my birthday?

"And mine?" Courtney wrapped an arm around Ben, sticking her head into the door.

"Guys, I don't know", Jesse sighed, running his hands.

"Hello?" Aubrey called. "We're here!"

Not only did Aubrey and Michael walk through the door, they brought with them Donald, lily and Benji.

"You weren't kidding when you said everyone was coming", Beca mumbled.

"What's going on?" Michael slid into a chair, pushing his glasses up his nose and leaning over to see the paperwork. "What's all this?"

"We're trying to get everything sorted to move into our new house. It's a hassle, did you know that?" Beca almost snapped. "Because we've bought one house, are selling two and are looking for a car!"

(The car issue was proving to be a lot harder than they originally thought. Beca was determined to keep Charlie, but knew that he had to go. And neither of them had found a car that they both agreed on, or fit their new family of eight. It was a work in progress, to say the least.)

"So how's that coming for you, anyway?" Michael's eyes sparkled and Beca shot him a look that plain and simply read 'you're dead to me'.

(Michael had a way of pushing her buttons more than anyone in the world, and she hated him for it.)

"Guys!" Jesse bellowed suddenly, sticking his head out the door and addressing their six children. "Can you please keep it to a dull roar?"

"Sorry!" Natalie hollered back, and Brody burst into giggles.

Chatter bounced around the room, discussing everything from what their plans were for the next Christmas ("Christmas has just been. Please, there's no need to bring up December already") to what furniture they were keeping ("It doesn't make sense to have two houses full of furniture when we've only got the one", Jesse had explained. "We're keeping my lounge", Beca had said cheerfully, because they were not getting rid of her lounge) to when Aubrey and Michael were going to have a baby ("Come on, have a kid. I need a bit more excitement in my life", Beca had said cheerfully, and Michael had just stared at her. "You have six kids and are moving house with a man who wants to marry you. I'm sure that's plenty of excitement for you". Beca had fallen silent at the thought of a proposal, having no more to say on the matter).

(Regardless, both Chloe and Tom and Michael and Aubrey had been discussing having children, and Beca was all for the idea of getting nieces or nephews.)

"They've gone quiet all of a sudden", Michael spoke up, nodding towards the backyard. "It looks like they're plotting something".

(It did. the six of them had formed a circle on the grass and Rosie and Ben's hands were waving animatedly, the former jabbing her finger at Ben every few moments.)

"They're trying to convince us to get a dog", Beca said, completely missing the way Fat Amy's face lit up. "They were very judgemental about the house we looked at, just to make sure there was enough room for everything. And they're likely to be just as judgemental when we go looking for a car".

"which is why we're going when they're all at school", Jesse said smoothly, kissing the side of Beca's head and gently brushing away the stray hairs that had escaped from her intricate braid.

(There was a look of pure adoration in Jesse's eyes when he looked at Beca that Benji had never seen before. Beca was so different to Katherine, in every single way.)

"So, we want to know, Jesse… when are you asking Beca to marry you?" Fat Amy said cheerily, and Beca spluttered on her tea.

"Amy!"

"What? Look, we all know it's inevitable, Stacie and I are just curious as to when!"

Stacie waved around her nail file. "We were thinking of taking bets".

(Her family was big on bets. It was very unfortunate for all involved.)

Jesse just shrugged, not letting anything slip.

Because he had a plan. And Beca would love it.

(Maybe.)
