Jasper, Rosalie, Emmett and Alice sat in the courtyard at Seattle University, waiting for Riley to pick them up. With the sun beaming heat rays upon their hot bodies, it made it feel like Riley was taking days rather than minutes. The four young adults couldn't help but watch as students and teachers left to start their spring breaks. It was only a matter of minutes for Riley to arrive and allow them to start their break.

Rosalie was seated on one of the courtyard tables, with her feet resting in the seat. She leaned back on her hands, as the sun shined down on her body. Her Dolce and Gabbana sunglasses shielded her eyes from the sun's strong beams. Riley decided to take all of the time in the world on one of the hottest days in Seattle. While they struggled with the heat, Alice, on the other hand, decided to pay a random student a hundred bucks just to fan her until Riley arrived. Emmett sat in the seat next to the chair his girlfriend's feet currently occupied. Jasper walked slow circles around the table as he continually dialed Riley's number.
"He needs to hurry up. I'm getting impatient!" Alice hollered, irritably.
Rosalie rolled her eyes in frustration, "I think someone switched my regular coffee for decaf this morning…just so you know their funeral is this Sunday."

A car horn honking pulled each of their attention. Alice handed over the bill and waved the student away as she watched Riley's bright and shiny red Mercedes pull up. Jasper smiled brightly at the vehicle, "You should let me drive," he ran his hand across the hood.

"Um no, I don't think so. Nobody drives this baby, but me." Riley placed a kiss against his set of keys.

Rosalie slid off of the table, and approached her friends, "Well it's about damn time you arrived!"
"Right," Alice nodded in agreement, "I lost a hundred bucks waiting for you!"

"Oh Alice, that's change. I can pay you back if you like." Riley waved her off, as he lowered the roof of his car, "Today, my friends, we're riding without the roof!"

Without opening the car door, Emmett hopped into the passenger seat of the vehicle, "I always wanted to do that!"

Jasper high-fives his best friend, and pats his back, "That was awesome!" Soon enough, he stepped back right before doing the same thing, landing comfortably in the middle of the backseat.
Alice adjusted her straw hat, while passing her best friend a kind smile, "Rose, I guess we're the only ones with sense, Riley please unlock the door."

"You guys are losers!" Riley laughed, doing just as she asked.

"But we're rich losers." Alice lifted her shades to pass a wink in his direction.

"Yeah…you're right about that."

Alice climbed into the seat behind Emmett as Rose mounted into the seat behind Riley. Jasper sat in the middle and casually wrapped his arm around his girlfriend's shoulders.

An hour soon was lost as they carelessly drove along the freeway. Riley, was such an aggressive driver. He constantly shouted profanities, honked his horn and dodged vehicles if they were in his way. His friends learned to not comment on his driving, especially since he got in his feelings about it.

"I don't get why you don't have a hangover." Alice said, leaning over Jasper to talk to Rose, "I've never seen you drink that much alcohol. Tell me, what is your secret?"

She dug around purse as she answered Alice's question, "Something the chef made. It works wonders. He's been making it for my mom for years."
"You don't want to know what's in it." Jasper added.

Emmett turned back to glance at his friends, and girlfriend, "It can't be that bad."
"It was green…and thick." Rose remarked, making gagging noises at the memory, "I had to basically chew it. I think I rather have a hangover than drink that again."

Riley couldn't help but laugh at the sound of gagging noises Rosalie made. He glanced back to look at her, before quickly looking forward and pressing down on his brakes. Jasper outstretched his arms in front of his girlfriend and his sister at the hard force pushed against them from the car's sudden stop.

"You need to keep your damn eyes on the road!" Alice scolded, resting her hand over her heart, "My life just flashed before my eyes."
"It wasn't my fault!" Riley leaned his head out of his window, "Move it along! Get this piece of garbage out of my sight!"

Rose pointed to the man in the car in front of them, and laughed, "He's giving you the finger!"

Whoever drove in front of Riley's Mercedes, stuck his hand out of the vehicle and held up his middle finger. Emmett, Jasper and Alice soon joined Rosalie in laughter as Riley gave the guy the finger back. Once the car in front of them pulled off, so did Riley. Rosalie gripped onto her seat belt as Riley pressed down onto the gas, "You're going too fast! Slow down a bit!"
"Yeah, Rose is right!" Jasper agreed, strapping his seat belt in nervousness.

"Seriously Riley," Emmett held tightly onto the armrest, "you're going one-twenty. Slow it down!"

Riley shook his head, and stuck both of his hands in the air. He held his tongue out and screamed as the whipping wind gave him an adrenaline rush. Rosalie squeezed her eyes closed as Alice held onto Jasper for dear life.
"Dude, you're scaring my girlfriend." Emmett growled, occasionally glancing back at Rose, "Quit it."

Just as Riley prepared to slow down, sirens soon sounded on the bumpy road. The young Bier sighed to himself as he pulled his car to a slow and steady stop.
"See! This is what happens when we let Riley drive," Jasper spat, regaining his posture.

"I can't get another ticket. My dad will kill me!"

Rosalie rolled her eyes in frustration, "You should have thought about that when you were speeding!"
"I got this." Alice confidently asserted.

The officer lifted his sunglasses as he approached the vehicle, "License and registration," as he watched Riley reach into the glove compartment he continued, "Do you kids realize how fast you were going?"

"Officer, hi!" the young Brandon perked up, and leaned forward, "I'm Alice…Alice Brandon. Pierce Brandon's daughter," She unbuckled her seat belt, and held her hand out and smiled brightly when the officer shook it, "I would really appreciate it if you didn't give my friend here," she pointed towards Riley, "a ticket."

"And I would really appreciate it if your friend didn't drive over the speed limit. License and registration please sir."

Alice took a deep breath and continued, "If you let us slide, just this once, I would put a good word in for you with my dad. The mayor usually assigns the police commissioner to the district. I'm sure you would make a great one." Riley handed over his license and the car's registration.

The officer stared down at the photographed identification of Riley Biers as he contemplated Alice's offering. Police commissioner? That's a huge accomplishment, especially for someone around his age.
"Alright," the officer sighed, handing Riley back his information, "This is a warning. I better not catch you kids speeding on my highway again." He tipped his hat towards the young adult, "And Ms. Brandon, the name is Michael Newton."

"Michael Newton, I got it."

Michael pointed to Alice's seat belt, "Buckle up." She smiled and did just what the officer told her to do. He tipped his hat once more before walking back to his police motorcycle.
"Alice, I think I love you!" Riley screamed, pulling off.
"You always loved me!"

Rosalie high-fived her best friend, "I would so love it if I could use my parents to get out of a driving ticket! If anything, my dad being a judge makes them double up the fine!"
"Yeah, I wonder why I'm so lucky." Alice batted her lashes and shrugged.

Pretty soon the group of young adults pulled off of the highway and onto an unpaved road, with absolutely no traffic at all. Cars were spaced out. Riley would pass a car every half an hour. It was mainly just them on the road and he liked it that way.
Alice rested her head against her boyfriend's shoulder, "So Rosalie, what did you think of the party yesterday?"
"I had fun. It was actually one of the best parties I've gone to."

Riley grinned madly as he drove wildly on the unoccupied dirt road; "You're only saying that because some guy was all obsessed with you!"
"He was not obsessed." Rose remarked, crossing her arms, "He just has good taste."
Riley continued to laugh, "What did he say?"
"He said I was beautiful and something along the lines of grinning every time I walk into the room!" Emmett rolled his eyes in irritation.

Alice leaned forward to face her best friend, "You told me something about being called a slut and other words."
"Yeah," Rose bit down onto her bottom lip, "I intentionally left that out. I'm no slut."
"Who was this guy anyway?" Riley smirked as he continued speeding down the empty road.

"Remember the guy at the end of the night causing problems?" Emmett questioned, pulling his shades out of his pocket. He opened up his sunglasses and placed them on, sighing gratefully at their success in shielding the bright sunlight.
"It was him," Riley shook his head at the thought, "EW, no. No."
Rosalie jokingly pouted, "Aw, I think he was kind of cute," at the fast turn of Emmett's head, she continued, "but he definitely has nothing on you."
"Nice save," Alice whispered, sneaking a high-five when he turned to face forward.

Riley's laugh was cut short at the sight of a pick-up truck parked in the center of the road. It blocked both lanes and made it impossible for Riley to drive around. They were just ten minutes away from the lake house, and now they reached another impasse.
"Why are we slowing down?" Emmett turned around to face forward and noticed the road block.

Riley recognized the woman as she hopped out of her truck and leaned against it. He pulled his car into park just a few feet away from her. He unbuckled his seat belt, "She was at the party yesterday." Riley opened his car door and stepped out, "I'll be right back."
"Be careful," Rose called out, worriedly.
Each of them unbuckled their seat belts as they watched intently. They needed to be ready to move just in case Riley needed help in any kind of way.
"What's your problem?" The young Biers shouted, tossing his hands into the air, "Move this bucket of garbage! Move!"
"I'm waiting for someone."

Riley's face twisted into confusion and irritation. He glanced back at his friends as he saw Emmett opening up the passenger side door, "What's the problem?"
"Wait on the side of the road," Riley ordered, averting his eyes from the pickup truck to Renesme, "Unlike you, we're important…and we have somewhere to be!"
Riley scrunched his face up together before looking back at his friends.
"No."
"What do you mean no?!"

Jasper followed Emmett out of the Mercedes, "What's going on?"
"This bitch won't move!"

Rosalie stood up in her seat, "Just come back to the car!" Something didn't feel right and by the look on Alice's face, she knew she felt the same way.

Riley nodded and turned to head back to his overpriced car. The moment his back was to Renesme, the crazed young adult reached into the back of her truck, and grabbed a club.
"Behind you," the moment Alice's warning was shouted, the club went across the side of Riley's head.

The moment he fell to the ground was the exact same moment Edward, Jacob and Bella stepped out of the woods. Renesme's grin grew wider as she stepped over Riley's unconscious body, and walked towards the car.
"Get out," Edward ordered, raising the gun in his hand.

Emmett and Jasper help their girlfriends carefully get out of the car. Emmett's strong and burly physique stood protectively in front of his girlfriend, "Stay behind me."
"Why are you doing this?" Rosalie bellowed from behind her shielding boyfriend.
"Because," Jacob popped up behind her, and ran the butt of his gun across her face, "we have to." He sighed sadly as he watched her fall to the ground.

For Edward, this was either going to go completely right or completely wrong. There was no in the middle. And at this point, there was no going back. It has already started. Jacob gripped Rosalie, preparing himself to throw her unconscious body over his shoulder, but the shove of her robust boyfriend knocked him off of his feet.

Edward snatched the club from Renesme's hands and took it across the back of Emmett's head. He angrily growled as he glared at Edward, "I'm not that easy to take down."
Bella pulled the trigger back on her gun, and pressed it against Rosalie's head, "ALL OF YOU ARE GOING TO CALM DOWN NOW! OR I KILL HER!"

Emmett lifted his hands and backed away. He nodded his head in compliance, "Okay, just…just don't hurt her." Jacob smirked and snatched the club from Edward before whipping it across the side of Emmett's head. Immediately, he fell over unconsciously.
"Help," Alice screamed, running down the road, "Somebody help us!"

Edward nodded for Bella to go after the escaped student. Jasper didn't want to leave his sister. He rushed over to her, and placed his hand against the red imprint that came from the butt of the gun, "ALICE RUN!" He encouraged. If she could get away, she can get help and lead them back here.

Edward was desperate. He didn't need Jasper's encouragement because it wasn't working in his favor. Out of anger, he took his large weapon and hit the young Hale across the back of his head twice. Jasper unresponsively fell over his sister.

"I'm not chasing you," Bella called out, coming to an abrupt stop, "You either come back, and we'll take you all alive or the moment you leave we kill your friends. It's up to you."

Alice heard the choices Bella gave her. She desperately needed to get help, but it was no point if her friends were already going to be dead. She didn't want their deaths on her conscious. What if they were bluffing? Alice couldn't afford to call them on it. She loved each one of her friends too much to make a mistake like that. The young Brandon stopped in her tracks, held up her hands and backed up. She wouldn't risk her friends' life. They meant too much to her.
"Say nighty night," Bella smirked, raising the weapon above Alice's head.
