Hey guys, sorry for taking so long to update, i ran out of inspiration so i left my fanfic aside for a while. Something i shouldn't have done. So thanks for reminding me to update sooner. This chapter is a bit all over the place, hope it makes sense though. It's an eleventh doctor runs into Ace chapter.

Characters: Eleventh Doctor/Ace Mcshane (Seventh Doctor companion), mind you this is Eleven travelling with Clara (circa Day of the Doctor)

The Doctor was waiting outside a little store filled to the brim with neat clothes and shoes. It was Wednesday. And Wednesday meant only one thing: it was Clara's day. The one time he got to park outside her house and take her around the universe.

The Doctor knew that Clara had a very busy human life, with her teaching job, friends, family and other human things to do.

So each moment he passed with her was a blessing and a curse, all in one package. A blessing cause he got to hang out with her and a curse because she would eventually go back home and he would be left alone in his Tardis.

The Tardis could be a rather sad place without anyone standing next to him.

Clara was taking longer than usual, so the Doctor entertained himself by observing the customers getting in and out of the shop. Humans of all age, mostly women since the shop sell clothes made for women, strolled inside the little place, and out of it, some of them holding bags, some of them empty handed.

He was getting rather good at observing the various human faces when one of them caught his eye.

A middle aged woman, aproximately 40 years old with light brown hair and eyes, looking all too familiar.

Her face was scrunched up , a rather obvious distaste for clothes and fashion apparent in her features. She was waiting someone outside of the same place Clara went into.

The Doctor gazed at her for a few long moments when the truth hit him like a brick.

Those eyes, that face, that person standing right infront of him, was Ace. Ace McShane, a companion of his old days, back then when he wore a vest with question marks and a hat and carried around a black and red umbrella.

He remembered those days so very fondly, the days he showed Ace the universe, the days they saved people and places, days he complained because she kept calling him Professor instead of Doctor and she kept carrying around explosives.

His hearts ached for those simpler moments, when the weight of his past wasn't weighting down on him.

Those precious minutes he could relax inside his Tardis without any care in the world. Moments that Ace would interrupt with awful 80's music.

There she was, his old companion, someone he cherished inside his heart.

He was aching to go and talk to her.

But what could he possibly tell her? He hadn't seen her for thousand of years and judging by her appearance it must have been almost 20 years for her as well.

A very long time. So long, that any form of "hi, Ace, it's me, the Doctor" wouldn't cut it.

So the Doctor smiled warmly at her and stood at his place.

And when her eyes found him and questioned his smile, he simply nodded, tipping the hat he was wearing and stepping inside the store to search for Clara.
