Don't let me fall chapter 16

Austin's p.o.v

I opened my eyes wide. What the hell. I saw white in front of me, my mind was blank and I couldn't even remember my own name. I sat up and looked around, I was standing on a cloud. That's right, a big white puffy thing was underneath me now I'm not sure if I'm only dreaming or if this is real but I can feel no pain. And I could have swore I had gotten shoot. I looked down at myself, I was dressed in white. I'm not gonna lie, it was kinda creepy. There were no wounds on my arms or stomach. So what the hell happened?

Where am I?

" You're in heaven, son " I heard a voice from behind me. I could recognise that voice anywhere. I slowly turned my head to look at him, to look at my grandpa. He died when I was 10 in a tragic car accident. His body burned in the fire, and all that remained of him were his ashes. Yet here he is, alive and well. Standing in front of me.

" Grandpa? " I questioned. I wasn't sure if it was real, but it was. He was here, dressed in white just like me. Only he was a bit different. He was like a ghost, I wasn't. " Am I dead? "

He shook his head at me " No, Austin, you're not dead ".

" B-but I died. My dad shoot me "

" No, you're dying! If you will die is your choice "

" My choice? " I asked him and he nodded his head. " Look around you, Austin " He told me and I did. I looked around, but I didn't see anybody or anything. I looked at the ground and saw a small hole in it. It was filled with water and I glanced up at my grandfather. He smiled at me " Do you want to see her? ".

I assume he was talking about Ally, so I nodded. But she's not here. She couldn't be, she's alive. His grandad knelt down next to him and looked into the water. He clapped his hands twice and an image appeared in the water. Austin saw a figure, sitting against a wall in the hospital waiting room. It was Ally. She had brought her knees up to her chest and hugged them tight. Tears were dropping from her eyes like a river. He felt a pain in his chest, just from looking at her. He wanted to go to her, hug her and hold her close. He wanted to tell her how he was alright, how she has nothing to cry about but he couldn't. All he could do was watch.

He looked at his grandad, desperate. He could feel his eyes getting watery as he spoke " I need to go back ".

His grandad nodded and looked at him closely " You really love her don't you? ".

Austin laughed and wiped away his tears " I kinda died for her " He said and his grandad patted his back. " Then go get her, but remember once you get back on earth you'll be in pain. Are you willing to go through that pain for her? "

" Yes! I'd go through any pain for her! "

Austin stood up on his feet and looked around " Well how do I do it? ". His grandad chuckled and stood up himself " Just fall ". Austin looked back towards him " Fall? How do I fall? ".

" Close your eyes. Now think of her. And fall "

I felt like I was waking up, I felt my body. I felt the pain that was pressured into me and the air that was in my lungs. I couldn't open my eyes just yet, but I knew I was back on earth, back with Ally.

I heard a sob, her sob and carefully listened. I just couldn't open my eyes, I was too tired to. I felt her hand on mind, both of her hands actually. She was playing with my fingers, moving them around and interlocking them with hers.

I heard her let out a loud sigh. " Austin, I don't know when or if you will wake up " Her voice rang through my ears, so soft, fragile and gentle. Broken as I could hear the tears streaming down her rosy cheeks " I want you to know I will be here, for you. Just like you've been there for me through all that we've been through. I will be here every day until you get better. I will be patient and kind. I will not give up on you no matter what. Because I love you Austin, I really love you. "

I felt her hand on my cheek, she stroke it. I wished so badly to say it back, to tell her how much I love her, but I couldn't. Her hand was removed from my cheek and I wanted to protest, but then I felt her lips come in contact with my skin. She gave me a light peck on the cheek, but that was enough for me.

" He died.. Your dad " She told me " After he had shoot you, the police came. He had shoot you a second time and so they shoot him. In the heart. He died instantly you know. A fast death, he wasn't in much pain. "

The room went quiet for a while, but I wanted Ally to tell me more. I wanted to hear her voice, her beautiful voice. The perfect one. If I could find one flaw on her, I would still love it, but I can't. She hasn't got one, well none which I would consider a flaw. She's my flawless girl. The perfection in my world, my distraction from reality and hurt and my only girl. I won't let anybody hurt her without having consequences, because she is under my protection all the time. That's what boys do. They help out their girl. They find a girl in trouble and help her, they realize they can't live without her and then they seduce her. They make that girl theirs and will stop at nothing if their love for her is real. And neither will I. My love is next to me, she is taking care of me now. But as soon as I can talk, I'll be talking care of her again.

" They told me you were dead. They said they couldn't bring you back to life and were sorry. They tried to start your heart beat again, on the way to the hospital, and were about to give up when you were back. You started to breathe again. You were dead for over an hour, I thought how I had lost you forever but here you are. You're alive. And You're okay... " She laughed through her tears " Well sort of.. Austin, please don't leave me. I will wait. But you just please stay, because I need you "

Same here Ally, same here.

I listened to her as she told me how she was so worried. She stayed up all night waiting for me to get out of surgery. That's why I saw her crying, if it wasn't all a dream. But she told me she was crying, she told me how worried she was but how she believed that I'll be fine. And I'm glad she did, she also told me how she refused to go to surgery to get the bullet out of her stomach because she didn't want to miss out anything new about me. Eventually they had to sleep her down to save her. She laughed at that. " I wish I could hear your laugh now " She told me and brushed her hand on top of mine.

It was strange how I could feel it, but I couldn't move.

" You know my dad visited. He told me I was so stupid for what I did. He also told me he'll kill you the next time he sees you... but then I told him I'll never speak to him again if he did and he just laughed. He told me I was brave and he loves me for that. He told me I should marry you and keep you, cause I will never find somebody like you! "

Does that mean I have mr. Dawson's permission to ask Ally to marry me or what? I really hope it does, cause once this is all over I would love to. I want her to be my wife, my other half and the person I'll spend the rest of my life with. Is that too much to ask?

I wish I could wake up already and tell her just how much I love her. How much I wanna hold her in my arms and tell her that everything is alright. How much I never want to let her go. How much I need her by my side telling me about her life. How much I love her laugh. How much her tears make me want to kill the person who caused them. How much I believe in us.

I started to squeeze her hand, but not much happened. I only moved my fingers a bit. I heard her gasp and hold my hand tighter. " Austin? " She asked and I could her her crying voice. She was crying again. I tried to squeeze her hand again and this time I did. It was light and I had a hard time trying to do it, but at least I did.

" Ally " I heard the words escape from my mouth.

" Oh my.. "

I opened my eyes and saw her looking at me. I smiled as much as I could, considering I was in so much pain.

" Hey.. " I whispered.

" Hey "

" Come here " I told her and she smiled. She leaned in and wrapped her arms around me and I hugged her back. She was lying next to me, trying not to fall of the bed and I started to sit up, but she let go of me and pushed me back down.

" You need to rest... You almost died "

" But I'm fine now "

She was about to reply but the nurse came rumbling in. The nurse ran to my side, pushing Ally away. She pushed me back down and rolled her eyes. Wow she was mean... And a tad annoying. I looked at Ally, but she pushed my head down and made me look up at the ceiling. I kept looking over at Ally though, but the nurse just kept pushing my head away. Eventually I stopped, but I was still annoyed by the nurse.

" Ms. I think you should leave, visiting time is over " The nurse spoke up, not looking up from my wrist, probably checking it for some medical thing.

" Oh, alright.. " Ally started and looked at me starting to say goodbye but there was no way in hell I was letting her leave. Not while I'm still breathing.

" No " I said looking from Ally to the nurse. It's better that I start calmly, it might work. " She has to stay here! "

" I'm sorry boy, but she can't... "

" Last time I was here she was allowed to stay the night " I said still calmly.

" We she's not allowed now, I'm sorry "

Well that didn't work.

" Well I don't give a fuck! She's staying here and I don't care what you say. Because if she's not by my side you will not be able to fucking control me and trust me, you don't want that. "

" Just Calm down, before you hurt yourself " The nurse told me and pushed me down on the bed. I looked at her, ready to blow up. I know that Ally doesn't want me to do this, but it's who I am. At first my dad forced me into it, you know, being the bad guy and all but soon it became a part of me. I learned how to stand up for myself and get what I want, I didn't mind taking high measures anymore. It was a part of me, at least until Ally came along. She softened me up. It's not how that isn't a good thing, but she can't stand up for herself and if I don't do it for her then who will?

So I believe that it was time I had brought back the worst in me but in the best away and for a good cause of course. Lets just hope Ally will go along with this and encourage me in it.

Well here goes nothing..

I pushed the nurse away and sat up on the hospital bed. That really ticked her off, which I only laughed at seeing that from my point of view I was going for that. I pulled the needle out of my arm, ripping off some skin in the process. I let out a quiet whimper and shook my head. I heard Ally gasp and looked at her. I saw her looking at me, with her eyes opened wide. I winked at her. " Austin " She warned me but I didn't listen. Instead I just got up and headed for the door.

I was about to leave, well fake leave, but I felt a tight pain in my head. I dropped on my knees and screamed in pain. I felt somebody kneel down next to me and try to help me stand up, but when I looked at the person and saw the nurse. So I pushed her off and stood up on my own.

" you need to lie down " The nurse told me.

" NO "

I was about to head out the door when I heard Ally scream " Austin, don't ". I heard her soft voice speak out and almost immediately softened up. I turned around and nodded my head.

Way to prove my point. Needless to say, Ally stayed the night.
