[the next morning]
Liz woke up in bed with Randy's arms wrapped loosely around her as they were sleeping; she escaped his hold and walked around the RV to tidy it up before she took a shower for the day. She was in the front of the bus picking up Randy's t-shirt, trunks, and basketball shorts from the night before when the driver spoke from the intercom.
"Would you like me to stop for breakfast, Liz?" Tony the driver asked.
She thought for a moment then looked around to see if there were any groceries with which she could cook. There were none so she told the driver to factor in a diner of some sort.
"Yeah, but I don't know where, though. I'll have to ask Randy. Thank you for asking, Tony," she said through the intercom.
Liz checked for any more of Randy's dirty clothes; when she didn't see any, she tossed the t-shirt and basketball shorts in the dirty clothes hamper. She would put them in the washing maching on the RV later. Liz put Randy's trunks in the sink, hand-washed them, and laid them out to dry. By the time she was done, Randy had woken up.
"Oh there you are," he said when Liz went back to the bedroom.
"Good morning. Where should we stop for breakfast?" she asked as they rolled into Chicago, Illinois.
He thought for a moment. "There's a really small restaurant somewhere downtown," he said.
Liz nodded. "You should go tell Tony. I'm going to take a long, hot shower. My back is killing me." she said.
Randy nodded watched Liz walk around. He still couldn't figure out why she was so calm after her encounter with Eva the day before. He just assumed that Liz had forgotten about it. Randy stood from the bed, yawned, stretched, and adjusted his boxers and pulled on a t-shirt before going up to see Tony.
He opened the door that separated the driver from the rest of the bus; he poked his head in the door.
"Hey, Tony," he said.
"Hey, there, Randy. Liz said she was going to ask you about breakfast," he said.
Randy nodded. "Yeah. Do you know where The Basket is in Chicago?" he asked.
Tony thought about the restaurant's location. "I've been there, but I don't remember exactly where it is. I'll just put it in the GPS," he said.
"Thanks, man. Let me know when we're five minutes away," he said as he went back to the back.
He sighed and sat on the edge of the bed. His phone buzzed with a text message; it was from John.
JC 7:18AM
Have you talked to Liz, yet?
Orton 7:18AM
No.
JC 7:19AM
Why not? She's really worried. You know she already has a hard time trusting you. You aren't helping yourself by avoiding the situation.
Orton 7:23AM
It's not me. She hasn't even mentioned it. I don't think she's mad.
JC 7:24AM
DUDE! The silent treatment is the #1 clue that she's pissed.
Orton 7:24AM
She's not giving me the silent treatment.
JC 7:26AM
She's waiting on YOU to bring it up! Talk to her! NOW!
Orton 7:28AM
Can't. She's in the shower.
JC 7:30AM
Even better. Surprise sex. Morning sex. Shower sex. Whatever you want to call it. Get to it boy.
Orton 7:31AM
PERV
Randy thought about John's suggestion; the more he thought about it, the better the idea sounded. He stripped out of his clothes and went into the bathroom area. He opened the shower door only to have Liz scream.
"What are you doing?!" she asked.
Randy stammered. "I thought we could—uh. That you and I can have—shower sex. I don't know," he finally said.
Liz raised an eyebrow. "Shower sex, Randy?" she asked angrily.
"I didn't think you were mad at me," he said.
"Do you know how many people die in showers and bathtubs, Randy?" she asked angrily.
He thought back to the day Liz first told him about the statistic. "Um. One person a year?" he asked.
"NO! At least one person every single day dies in the shower and bathtub. Not from drowning, either. It's from slipping and falling! Now get out and let me finish my safe shower!" she yelled.
Randy nodded walked out with a smile on his face. He was definitely relieved that Liz wasn't upset about the comments Eva made. He grabbed his phone and sent John another message after he put his boxers back on.
ORTON 7:48AM
I hate you.
Liz came out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel; she glared playfully at Randy when she walked past him.
JC 7:49AM
LOL. Why?
ORTON 7:51AM
First of all, she wasn't even mad at me. Second of all, she's mad at me now because of the shower sex thing. She kicked me out of the bathroom.
ORTON 7:58AM
HELLO? WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SAY FOR YOURSELF?
JC 8:00AM
Sorry?
Randy was about to reply to John when he saw Liz struggling in an attempt to put lotion on her lower back. He put his phone down and helped her out.
"Can I help you out?" he asked.
Liz nodded and handed him the bottle of lotion. Randy pumped a bit into the palm of his hand and rubbed his hands together.
"What is this?" he asked when he felt what seemed to be sand in his hands.
"It's cocoa butter lotion with cocoa beans. It helps with stretch marks," she said.
Randy nodded and rubbed the lotion on Liz's lower back, hips, and belly.
"Can you get my legs, too?" she asked.
He nodded and kneeled in front of her on one knee. Liz tried to ignore his stance, but she couldn't. She started thinking about what it would be like to be married to her best friend. Liz grinning unconsciously at the thought.
"What's so funny?" Randy asked as he rubbed the lotion on one of her legs.
"Huh? Oh, nothing. Just thinking to myself," she said.
He frowned because he could tell she was hiding something. "Can I ask you something?" he asked.
"Sure," she said.
"Why aren't you mad about what Eva said last night?" Randy asked as he finished up her second leg.
"I never said I wasn't," she said.
Randy froze and looked up at Liz.
"I was waiting for you to explain yourself. I was way more upset last night, though. But you told me to trust you so that's what I'm trying to do. It doesn't stop me from being pissed off, though," she said.
He sighed and stood up; he took time to gather his thoughts before he explained the situation.
"I'm going to tell you what happened, Liz, but you have to promise me that you won't interrupt. Promise that you'll save all questions and comments until I'm done,"
"I promise," she said as she pulled on some clothes.
Randy sat and watched her get dressed. "Eva and I haven't hooked up since the Royal Rumble. I haven't talked to her outside of work since then, either. Last Tuesday, she interviewed me for a segment. It wasn't on Smackdown because they cut the segment to save time for The Shield's promo. She was flirting with me in the interview, but I ignored her advances and focused on my own lines. They told us that we would just have to redo the interview tonight since some stuff has changed. That's what she meant when she asked to fool around. She wasn't talking about hooking up, she was talking about going over the stuff for the interview. I think she only mentioned it to get under your skin," he explained. "Any questions?"
By the time Randy finished his explanation, Liz had already gotten dressed in her maternity activewear. She had on yoga pants, a tank top, and a hoodie. She was struggling with her shoes when by the time he had finished.
"Can you help me?" she asked as she handed him her socks and shoes.
Randy nodded and covered her slightly swollen feet with the socks and shoes.
"I do have one question," she said as he tied the shoes. "Why doesn't anyone know about us?" she asked.
"What do you mean?" he asked.
Liz sighed. "I expected Phil to not know, but John is one of your best friends. I just sorta thought maybe he would have known that you and I were dating. It just makes me that you were trying to hide me or keep me a secret or something. It really made wonder why, you know," she said.
He frowned. "What are you talking about? I told John the same day we made us official. I called him before my flight and told him. He knew within the hour I left your hotel room," he said.
"I talked to him last night. He acted like he didn't even know. I asked him if he did and he gasped like he was surprised," she said.
Randy shook his head. "I swear, that motherfucker is going to be the death of me. Did you answer you with a clear 'yes' or 'no' when you asked him?" he asked.
Liz thought back to the conversation. "Now that I think about it…" she said. "I'm so sorry, Randy," she said.
He laughed. "It's okay, babe. I'll just have to have a few words with this so-called friend later on today," he said.
"I feel like such a bitch right now," Liz said with her head in her hands. She had started to cry.
"Don't feel bad, Lizard. It's not your fault. I don't blame you for being pissed off about Eva and you have every right to be upset with me based on what John said. But now, let's redirect that anger to him," he suggested jokingly.
Liz laughed and wiped her eyes and kissed Randy deeply.
The intercom beeped. "We're 10 minutes out, Randy," Tony said.
They broke the kiss so Randy would gather his shower supplies; he went to the intercom system in the bedroom. "Thanks, Tony," he said before slipping into the bathroom for his shower.
[later that night]
Randy was scantily clad in only his ring gear as he and Liz were walking through the backstage area towards Randy's designated spot for his Smackdown interview segment when they were stopped by Stephanie.
"Hey, Liz! How are you and the baby?" she asked as she hugged the pregnant woman.
Liz smiled. "He and I are great," she said as she rubbed her belly.
"So it's a boy! I can tell; you're carrying him beautifully. You look great." Stephanie said.
"I keep trying to tell her that," Randy chimed in.
Liz blushed and giggled. "Aw, thanks, Steph," she said.
They were interrupted by a stagehand. "Mr. Orton? We'll be ready for your segment in 10 minutes,"
Randy nodded. "Okay. Thanks," he said as he waved the man off. Randy had turned to leave, but Liz grabbed his wrist.
"I'm coming with you," she said. "I'll see you later, Steph."
On the set, Eva Marie was fixing her hair and pushing up her bra making her mounds practically fall out of the sweetheart neckline. Liz watched as she ruched the midsection of her dress so the hem would come just below her bum; she was disgusted by how sleazy Eva Marie was being.
"Places!" a director yelled. Randy and Eva got into their places. Eva winked at Randy and turned to smirk at Liz. Liz rolled her eyes at the jezebel's tactics.
"Alright! Quiet on the set!" the director called. Once everyone was quiet, the director yelled action.
"Please welcome the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Randy Orton. Randy now that you have won back your championship, what can we expect from you?"
"Since this championship was practically stolen from me, the WWE Universe can expect me to protect this championship with everything I have. I can't believe Dolph Ziggler thought he had a chance at retaining the championship in the Elimination Chamber. That was only his first time, he's virgin at this thing. I am experienced and I know what I'm doing,"
Eva smirked and leaned closer to Randy. "I'm sure you are. I'm sure they don't call you The Viper for nothing,"
"CUT!" the director yelled. "What the hell was that, Eva?!" he asked angrily.
"I thought it was a good way to go. The audience will expect me to say something like that," she said.
"Yeah, but this is a PG show! They're supposed to pick up on what Randy is saying. It's not your job to make sure of that. Just stick to the script!" he yelled at her.
Liz chuckled to herself as she watched Eva getting yelled at for being inappropriate.
"Now we're going to take it from the top. It shouldn't take more than one take to record a one minute interview," the director said. "Alright. Quiet on the set. Action!"
This time, Eva followed the script and let Randy finish his statement before walking off.
After the segment was done, Liz walked over to Randy with a bottle of water for him. She had another for herself, as well.
"I'm so sorry about her, Liz," Randy apologized.
Liz smiled. "It's okay, babydoll. It's not your fault,"
Eva Marie boldly approached the couple. "Great job, Randy," she said with a sugary tone.
Randy shook his head. "What you said was way more than unacceptable. You need to learn how to follow directions," he said before he stalked off.
"So, Lizzy. Any day now, huh? You're about 9 months along now, right?" Eva said to imply that Liz was fat. Before Liz could answer, the redhead walked away.
Liz had finally had enough of Eva's snarky attitude towards her. She opened the water bottle, and followed Eva, and poured the bottle's contents on her head. The water drenched her hair and dress.
"YOU BITCH!" Eva spun around and yelled at her.
Liz shrugged. "Sorry. You looked a bit thirsty," she said with a chuckle. While Eva was wringing her hair and gently shaking the water from her arms, Liz got in her face and spoke quietly but threateningly. "I may be pregnant, but you better believe that I have ways to make your life hell. So, I suggest you stay away from me and my boyfriend unless you want to end up seriously injured… or worse," she said.
When Randy was in the ring, Liz hung out backstage with Punk.
"So you and Randal, huh?" he asked her.
She chuckled. "Yep. Me and Randy," she confirmed.
"How are doing, really?" he asked referring to her emotional state since Wade's accident.
She sighed. "I don't know. I try to keep that pushed out of my memory but carrying his baby makes that a whole lot harder than I would like," she said.
He nodded. "Have you talked to Randy about how you're feeling?" Punk asked.
"No. I don't want to bother him with my personal bullshit, Phil,"
He scoffed. "What are you talking about? Your bullshit is his bullshit, too. At least it should be. I would offer an ear, but I don't want to take something on that should be Randy's job. Just know that if you need somebody to talk to, you have him, then Cena, then me okay?" he said.
Liz laughed. "You just put John before yourself. How does that feel?" she asked.
Punk twisted his face in disgust. "It burns. But in all seriousness, Lizzy, talk to your boyfriend," he said.
Liz nodded.
"So, about this baby business…" he said to slightly change the subject.
Liz smiled. "I'm almost 6 months along; it's a boy; and I'm due at the end of May," she said.
Punk smiled and nodded. "Are you excited?" he asked.
"Of course. I'm ready to get back into shape so I can kick Eva's ass," she said.
Punk breathed a sigh of relief. "Wow. I was hoping you wouldn't find out about them. I'm glad you're handling it well. I'm actually surprised somebody told you they were fooling around. Folks kinda thought you would flip out and commit mass murder," he said with relief.
Liz was more confused than ever. "What are you talking about?" she asked.
Punk's eyes widened. "You didn't know, did you?" he asked.
"Know what? About Eva throwing herself at Randy during their segment last week?" she asked.
"Oh, jeebus. You didn't know. I'm so sorry, Liz. Please don't be mad at me. I thought you knew,"
"You thought I knew what, Phil?" she asked impatiently.
