"Pththth. Yeah, right. You two totally thtayed friendth."
"Sollux, shut your lisping shithole already," Karkat huffed and slid out of the car, slamming the door shut.
Sollux followed suit, smirking as they entered the building.

Karkat tucked a strand of hair behind his ear, nearly giggling. He settled for a gentle smile instead. The smile soon faded when Sollux nudged him. The Gemini whispered, "Thtop flirting with your old boyfriend and let'th go. Thchool, remember?"
The Cancer grumbled, rolling his eyes. "Fuck you. I can't laugh at him?"
"Theemth like you're doing much more than laughing at him."
"Fuck off, lispy." Karkat flipped the other off, huffing. Sollux laughed. How was anyone suppose to take the crab seriously with that huge ass blush spreading like a disease across his cheeks? Karkat was, honestly, quite adorable. But he'd never admit that to him. It would be like asking him to punch him. He was called back down to Earth by a, "Captor? What are you fucking staring at?"
"Nothing, KK. Let'th go already. Abth here can get back to hith job."
The cancer grumbled again, standing. "His name is Abel. Don't call him Abthhhhh."
"I'll call him what I want."
"Fuck off, and let's go already." Sollux lead the other to his car.

Running up to his room, he collapsed on his bed. Any moment now the closed door would fly open.
One... Two... Three. The door flew open, smacking against the wall.
"Karkat Vantas! There is no god damn reason for you to run up these damn stairs, and slam the fucking door shut!"
"Oh, yes, father. I apologize for shutting such an amazing door, but why did you slam it against the wall? There could be a hole in it!"
The oldest Vantas huffed, turned, and walked out of the room. Good. Another argument avoided. Or a possible confession coming out.. That didn't need to happen though.
He curled up on his bed, burying his face in his pillow. The sweet smell of chocolate; and he was drifting asleep.
The smell of chocolate was gone, and replaced with the smell of something burning. Karkat cracked his eyes open, sitting up. Maybe it was time for dinner. His mother always did burn it.. He opened his eyes completely when he heard a crack and a thump.
He reached for the handle, and yanked his hand back. Too hot. Way too hot. He bit his lip, looking around for another exit. The window.. He raced over to it, tugging at it. It wouldn't open. It wouldn't fucking open! He pressed himself into the corner after pushing everything made of wood away from him. He glanced up, and immediately collapsed. A plank had fallen on him.
"He's lucky he survived."
His eyes didn't open.
"Yeah, we found him after the house collapsed."
He could only hear.
"It was piercing his leg, and his head was bleeding."
He didn't want to hear what he was hearing.
"He may need crutches, and not be able to see out of his left eye for awhile."
He groaned, and opened his eyes. Holy shit, the sunlight fucking hurt. He shut them away, trying not to move. That'd only cause more pain.
"Did you see that? He opened his eyes," Karkat could tell that was his mom's voice.
"Honey, you're seeing things." His dad's voice, of course.
"Then tell me why I heard his voice!"
"You're hearing things, dear."
Karkat let out another groan, clutching the sheets. "Keep.." His throat was on fire. "your voices down."
immediately ran over to him. "Oh my god. Are you okay? Is there something you need?"
"Mom," he whined. "Be quiet."
