Her last living relative was dead. Her brother was on the ground in front of her, he had fallen and she couldn't catch him. She stopped crying.
She hiccuped once.
Then she started to giggle.
...Lumi?
She burst out laughing, tears streaming down her face.
...Lumi, c'mon... you know this isn't real...
She curled up into a ball on the ground, still squealing with laughter.
Lumi, don't do this! It's just a hallucination! Don't be like...
Nira didn't finish the sentence, stopping before bringing back the memories and destroying their mind even more. But it didn't matter, Lumi knew what she was saying.
Don't be like him.

She was only a three year old girl, her hair a very dark red, almost black, and her eyes a deep blue. It was a strange combination, sure; but it was a complete mixure between her parents. Her father's eyes had been blue, her mother's green, but they held the same emotions, and glimmered the same way in the moonlight. Her father's hair had been black, her mother's red. Which was a good thing, because then she couldn't see the blood.
A man was holding onto her wrist, dragging her through an alley. It was dark and no one else was around. She was scared and tears were streaming down her cheeks. He pushed her against the wall and came closer to her. He leant down and whispered into her ear, burning the words into her mind, leaving them as scars.
''You're gonna be quiet, alright?''
She didn't respond. She couldn't understand a word he was saying, she hadn't been taught English. But two thirds of all communication is non-verbal, so when his hand started to lift her shirt up, she understood what was happening. She may not have spoken the man's language, but she had been taught the meaning of 'a bad touch', and that was definitely what this was. And she didn't want it. She didn't want him that close to her, touching her like that.
A second later he was up against the wall, screaming in pain. His skin started to peel away from his body, until he was just muscle and flesh, being held up as if he were standing. His bones started to pull out of his body, until they were all free from their cover of muscle. His eyes pulled out of their sockets, with such force that the optic nerve pulled out itself. The... remains fell to the ground, in a pile of blood, flesh, and bone. The girl sank against the wall, frozen in fear. She stayed there for what felt like ages until she heard footsteps approaching her.
She could make out two figures, one a woman, the other a man.
''Why is Arkham so far away? It takes forever to walk back-''
The man's voice cut off when he caught sight of Luminira. ''Well, he-llo there, little girl! How are you this fine evening?''
She didn't respond. Then the man caught sight of the... body if it even still qualified to be considered a body. ''Did... you do that?''
She couldn't understand all of what he said, but she caught 'you' and 'do'. She cautiously nodded a little. It was an accident; she wouldn't get in trouble if she said she was sorry, right?
She was suprised, though, when the man laughed."Haha, you remind me of me when I was your age! But you're a lot cuter! Isn't she, Harley?"
"Sure is, Puddin'!" The woman spoke from the shadows. It was still dark, she couldn't make out the figures while they stood so far away.
"So, girlie, where are your parents?"
She understood 'parents'. Her mamă and tată. They were gone. She grew sad and it must have been obvious because the man came forward. She could see he had black shoes and wore fancy purple pants.
"C'mon, then, let's get you out of the rain," She looked up, not even having noticed the drops of water that fell from the sky. The men leant down and held a hand out. His hair was green and messy, his skin was covered in what looked like white paint, and his lips were a bright red. He wore a purple suit, with a green tie and a green flower over his heart. He just needed a red nose and big shoes, and he would have looked exactly like a...
''Clovn.''

Lumi immediately stopped laughing. She looked back at where Dick's corpse was lying, but nothing was there. She stood, walking backwards, her feet refusing to cooperate with the rest of her body. She turned and ran out of the hidden bunker, back into Gotham. She moved the piece of wood that hid the entrance into Crime Alley. The city lay in ruins, buildings half destroyed, fire everywhere.
This was bad.
She tried to remember where the out-of-order telephone booth was that would take her to Mount Justice, something Dick had mentioned once. Damn, it was somewhere in Amusement Mile, right? Yeah, the west end, near the docks, in an alley. She grappled onto a nearby building, but it started to crumble from the added weight. She pulled the grappling hook back as the building collapsed. Okay... differant plan.
Didn't Dick have a bike around here?

...Yeah.
So this is basically what happened before Artie, Wally, Rae and Dami got to Gotham.
