The ABC's of Montessa

Disclaimer: I do not own Monty Monogram, Vanessa Doofenshmirtz or any character from Phineas and Ferb, including the series. I apologize if some chapters may be OOC, but what can I say? It's Montessa I'm doing.

Chapter 16: Pie

There was a filling aroma surrounding the entire apartment of Monty Monogram and Vanessa Doofenshmirtz. Nevertheless, despite being such a small house, it was actually roomy on the inside. A big-screen TV, a swimming pool on the outside, and huge amounts of food enough to last them an entire year. So far, they were the only couple in Danville not affected by the economy.

And what better way to feel at home than to make a tasty pie? Since Monty went out for a while, Vanessa decided to make his favorite dessert of all time - Key Lime pie. Sure Vanessa was a bad cook since anything she made turned to burnt crap, but she learned the other way around. Vanessa was gonna make sure what she baked would come out perfect.

All she needed was one big cup of key lime juice, sixteen ounces of water, one can sweetened condensed milk, a half a cup of sour cream, two large eggs, one nine-inch graham cracker crust, eight ounces of whipped topping and she was good to go. She turned the oven on for 350 degrees Fahrenheit and put the entire pie in.

"There we go..." Vanessa replied, turning the knob to 350, "Let's hope I get this right..."

After shutting the oven door shut, Vanessa went to the living room and kicked back on her comfortable chair.

With her finger on the remote control, she instantly turned on the TV.

"Today on Maury... I cheated on my 16-year old girlfriend with your hot grandma! Coming up next!" The announcer spoke on the TV.

Just like that, Vanessa fell right asleep. Not a good idea.

She slept for almost 30 minutes. No wonder she didn't realize that the pie only cooked for about 10 minutes, which was long enough to be reduced to black rubble.

Meanwhile, an unknown visitor opened the living room door and shut it behind him. Was he an intruder, a stalker, or perhaps a salesman willing to show Vanessa a new brand of toothpaste? Only Vanessa could tell by the sound of his voice.

"Hey, babe..."

That one single voice made Vanessa wake up. Rubbing a little dirt off her eyes, she saw the figure stand before her.

"Hey, Monty. How was your day?" Vanessa said, giving her fiancee a kiss on the cheek.

"It was nothing fancy." Monty chuckled, "I just schooled Jeremy in a game of three-on-three basketball. I swore he was bitching and bitching about not having to get in a shot. Believe me, he could learn some lessons from a pro like me."

"I'm certain that he would." Vanessa chuckled as well.

As soon as he put his gym bag away, Monty's nose got a very stiff feeling. Feeling that something was wrong with the scent of his house.

"Speaking of which, I'm smelling something burning..." Monty cringed.

"I'm certain that's the neighbors next door. Must be having a barbecue I guess." Vanessa replied, bending her neck sideways. That was a long sleep that she had.

"No, I don't think that's it." Monty said, shaking his head no, "It's having much more of a lime feeling."

But when Monty brought up the word 'lime', it finally struck Vanessa like a chord. She knew something was missing!

"OH NO! THE PIE!" Vanessa screamed in panic.

She immediately raced to the kitchen...

...only to find huge amounts of smoke surrounding the oven. Using her best oven mitts, Vanessa managed to open the oven door and grab the entire pie tin just in time to set it on the table. Luckily, the smoke wasn't that strong, considering it would have caused the smoke detector to go off annoyingly.

Both Vanessa and Monty looked down at the pie, and saw that the damage was already done. The crust already burned to a crisp, the entire lime flavor now felt like a smell of ash surrounding the house, and most importantly, the whipped cream had already melted into golden brown. This was yet another disaster coming from Vanessa Doofenshmirtz.

Monty had a upsetting, yet concerned look on his face, which made Vanessa apologize deeply to him, "I am so sorry, Monty. That pie was supposed to be just for you, but I accidentally fell asleep in the middle of a show. I know I deserve every blame from this. I understand if you're mad."

"Mad?" Monty raised an eyebrow, "Look Vanessa, I'm not mad. I know you were trying to make me happy, but you don't need to do anything that appreciates me. As long as you tried, that's all that matters. There's nothing to be ashamed about."

His words from Monty gave Vanessa an ounce of comfort.

"You're right." Vanessa sighed, "I guess I've been trying too hard. Maybe next time, I'll try to take it easy."

"That's my girl. Just the way I like it." Monty smiled, before giving her a kiss on the cheek, "Why don't we order pizza instead? My treat."

"Sounds good. And that's just the way I like it." Vanessa smiled as well.

And that's when she took the rest of the burnt-up pie and sent it flying to the garbage. After all, Vanessa didn't need to make a pie to make her boyfriend happy, and that's the way they both liked it.

This was an interesting chapter for the letter 'P', I'll tell you that!

I don't what I'll find for letter "Q", but you'll have to wait until the next chapter to find out! Until then, you know what to do! (;D)
