Hello everyone! It's been a long while but I am back with more!

I'm not going to back you guys wait any longer, I'm just going to jump right in!

Tobias's POV

I watch as she tests her weight on the rusted rung of the ladder. I want to follow her so badly, but my fear of heights is slightly holding me back.

I take a deep breath and walk over to her.

"Tris." I say. It startles her I can see because she looks over her shoulder at me rather quickly. I sling my gun around my back like her because I know I will be having to climb this thing.

"Yes?" She replies casually, like she's not about to climb this massive ferris wheel that can fall at any moment.

"I came to find out what you're doing." I reply, just as cooly.

"I'm seeking higher ground," she says. "I don't think I'm doing anything." She finishes off.

I smile, feeling strangely proud. "All right. I'm coming."

She pauses like she's trying to find out the reason of why I am coming.

"I'll be fine." She finally says. I finally realize that she thought that I doubted her.

"Undoubtedly." I reply, absolutely no sarcasm in my voice. I find I'm just trying to comfort myself. She's climbing this large, broken, rusted wheel. Last thing I want for her to do is fall. I don't even want to climb it.

She seems weary but she turns and starts to mount the ladder, climbing a few feet off the ground. Once a few more feet up, I follow after here. I move faster than she does and soon I find that my hands are finding the rungs that her feet leave.

"So tell me . . ." I say quietly. I don't know how much louder I can speak. I glance down – a terrible mistake – and my breath hitches in my throat. I have to pause in the middle of my sentence. "What do you think the purpose of this exercise is? The game, I mean. Not the climbing." I add a little to quickly.

She looks down at the pavement and part of me hopes that she'll go back down, but another part of me wants to see her go. To see how far she -can- go before she breaks. It sounds a little harsh but whenever I see her like this, it's hard not to think like that.

I continue looking up because I don't want to see the ground. There is a platform at the middle of the wheel and I hope we end up stopping there.

"Learning about strategy." She says, then quickly adds. "Teamwork maybe."

"Teamwork." I repeat. I mean to laugh but it sounded more like a panicked breath.

"Maybe not," she changed her mind. "Teamwork doesn't seem to be a Dauntless priority."

I can hardly hear her over the wind. I can see she presses herself closer to the ladder. Her small frame would be easily pushed around by the wind, I assume.

"It's supposed to be a priority. It used to be." I say, remember back to when I was an initiate.

I watch her, she seems rather tense. Maybe I'm making her uncomfortable. Maybe it's the height. I decide to not think about it, but rather focus above. Her hand almost misses the next rung and my heart skips a beat.

"Now tell me . . ." I have to take another breath. It's getting really hard to breath at this height. Or is that just me? "what do you think learning strategy has to do with . . . bravery?" I ask, almost struggling for breath.

"It . . . prepares you to act." She says after a while. "You learn strategy so you can use it."

At this point, I can't help but take large and quick breaths of air. I curse in my head as she asks. "Are you alright, Four?"

I can't help it. I have to ask. "Are you even human, Tris? Being up this high . . ." I gulp for air. "It doesn't scare you at all?"

She looks down at the ground, debating an answer.

Suddenly, a gust of wind presses our left sides. I can maintain my balance, but she seems to lose her balance. I quickly throw my hand out and hold one of her hips in place. My finger are cold, I find, after feeling her skin . . .

I squeeze her side, steadying her and pushing her gently to the left, resorting her balance.

Now it's her turn to not be able to breath. I would've laughed if I could.

"You okay?" I asks.

"Yes." She says, but her voice is strained.

We keep climbing, but now in silence. We focus on climbing and not being blown off rather than talking.

We eventually reach the platform and she moves over so I can get up. She swings her legs over the edge and watch her like she's crazy. I end up crouching and pressing my back against the metal support, breathing heavily.

"You're afraid of heights." She says. "How do you survive in the Dauntless compound?" She asks, bewildered.

"I ignore my fear," I say. "When I make decisions, I pretend it doesn't exist." I say, feeling like an open book now.

She stares at me for a few seconds. I stare back.

After a few more seconds I eventually ask: "What?"

"Nothing." She looks towards the city. I seem to watch her.

When she finally says. "We're not high enough." I find myself knowing she would say that. It scares me that she wants to. I mean, there is no more ladder. It's all just scaffolding. Sure, you can wedge your feet between the supports but there is no guarantee.

"I'm going to climb." She says, standing up. She grabs one of the white bars and pulls herself up.

"For God's sake, Stiff." I say, my heart pounding as I consider following her.

"You don't have to follow me." She says seeming to plan out her path to climb higher.

"Yes, I do." I say to myself or her. Doesn't really matter. I don't want the wind to push her off again.

I can see her arms shake and that's just another reason to convince me to follow her. She looks down at me, but more past me and at the ground. I can tell she can't breath very well.

I try to pretend I didn't see it. I grab a bar of the scaffolding and pull myself up. She eventually turns and starts to climb again.

It would be a very nice view from up here if I didn't have to constantly worry about falling. Or worse, her falling.

She eventually stops climbing and points out towards the end of the pier. "See that?" She asks me.

I stop climbing and look where she pointed. My chin is beside her head and my breath flutters.

"Yeah. I say, a smile playing across my face."

"It's coming from the park at the end of the pier." I say. "Figures. It's surrounded by open space, but the trees provide camouflage. Obviously not enough." I quickly add.

"Okay," she says. She looks over at her shoulder at me and when I look at her, I can see the corner of her mouth turns down like mine. Is that an Abnegation thing?

She clears her throat. "Um, let's start climbing down I guess. I'll follow you."

I nod and step down. It's easy for me because I have longer legs, but my hands are bright red and shaking.

She follows down and I can hear the bar she steps on creak. Suddenly. the bar falls past me and hits a dozen bars on the way down. I can hear her strangled voice.

"Four!"
