Surprise! I really cannot believe I haven't updated for over a year... I had to reread my own story to remember what I did so far (it was quite agonising... really...). I also want to apologise if I have lost my touch of writing (which would be even more agonising) and I haven't had this edited... Plus the first part I wrote at 1 in the morning. So yeah... I do not know when I will update, but I will make sure not to make people wait another entire year (I really do feel guilty for that!)

Well, enjoy!

I do not own Fairy Tail or Zombie Loan

Zeref walked aimlessly through town as he carried passed out Lucy piggy back styled. It was getting later by the minute as the moon hung over them in the dark sky. And even though he was technically speaking dead, he was growing fatigue from carrying her (not that she is that heavy) and Zeref also needs his beauty sleep.

It was only when he stepped out of an alley way onto the main street that he realised that he doesn't even know where she lives! 'Agh! I've been walking for hours all for nothing when I can be using this time to sleep!' the zombie thought to himself angrily as he jumped up and down, dramatically stomping his feet. With a slow sigh to calm his nerves, he came to a decision that he will just take her back to his and Jellal's place. It was better than staying out here all night trying to look for a home he doesn't even know how it looks like.

The man kept mumbling to himself about wasting his energy as he walked to his apartment 5 km away. Finally reaching his home, Zeref opened the door with difficulty and walked straight to his room on the second floor. As soon as he walked in, he didn't even bother turning on the lights as he collapsed onto his bed, falling asleep immediately.

Lucy groaned as the sunlight hit her face and there was a heavy pounding on her head. 'Damn you Zeref, damn you alcohol, damn you zombie…' as the memories started to float back to her head. The blonde didn't want to wake up just yet so she turned around away from the sun. Just then she felt an arm fall around her waist.

It took quite a while for things to add up in her head: in bed and an arm that wasn't hers. Her immediate reaction was turning as white as a ghost, 'that bastard took advantage of me?!' and with that in mind, she did her specialty: Lucy kick.

The poor man flew off the bed with a thud and let out a groan as he woke up from the sudden fall. "What the hell, Lucy?" he moaned in pain as he slowly got up into a sitting position, rubbing his sleepy eyes. Lucy then started to realise that he had his clothes and proceeded to look down to see that she, too, had her last night clothes on.

"We still have our clothes on?!" she accidentally exclaimed out loud to herself.

"Of course we do, idiot!" Zeref resorted back loudly with a disbelief expression on his face, "I'm not some pervert!" He then took a moment to think before adding a comment. "Besides, I wouldn't be interested anyways. I've seen much better bodies."

In return, Lucy angrily threw a nearby book which reached its mark right between his eyes. "You should've just taken me home!"

"I don't even know where you live!"

"'Cause you're an idiot! Oh my gosh, home! I have to get home!" Lucy quickly jumped out of bed, which was a bad idea since the action only worsened her headache. She took a moment to regain her composure and began to sprint out the door, leaving Zeref behind to process what just happened.

"Wait! We have to continue our job!" He called out as he scrambled from the ground. She still has to pay them back a lot of money, so she can't just leave! Mentally growling, he stomped out of his room to grab her only to see the door close. 'I'll just ask Jellal to find her address later' he thought to himself as he sighed. 'For now, I will just go back to bed.'

Lucy ran as fast as her legs would go and by the time she reached her doorstep she was leaning on her knees, panting and sweating. "I made it," she said with a shaky breath and opened the door, not bothering to knock. The McGardens rarely lock the door, and if they did, they would unlock it as soon as they wake up to grab the newspaper; which is really early.

"Lucy! Where have you been, we have been looking everywhere for you!" Mrs. McGarden cried out. She had been worried sick when Lucy went missing for a week and one day after the party. Who knew what could happen, it was late at night, people are drunk, and the hangout was far from home. Besides, there are many weirdoes out there who might kidnap Lucy or something.

The blonde started to feel very guilty and selfish. She should've known that they would be worried about her. Tears started to form in the corner of her eyes, "I'm sorry."

Levy quickly hugged her tightly, as if she might disappear into thin air. They were about to go to the police to report her missing after asking many people about her blonde friend, all turning up with disappointing results. "I'm so glad you're back!" the bluenette cried out, "but seriously, where have you been?"

Lucy broke from the hug and gave a sad smile to everyone who were all in tears. "There was this crazy drunkard who accidentally stabbed me and then Zeref and Jellal quickly took me under their care. I was out cold for an entire week and woke up yesterday only to find out that I am in their debt. I really am sorry!"

"Those bastards are in my class and they didn't even think about telling me?!" Levy started to roll up her invisible sleeves and got into a fighting mood as she stomped to the door, "They'll pay for this!"

"Hehe, calm down Levy. They're just idiots and I am sure they have their reasons," Lucy sweat dropped as she watched her friend. "Besides, I'm alive and kicking!" To prove it, she punched and kicked the air as if she was in a movie fighting bad guys.

"Well, I'm glad you're safe," Mr. McGarden said with a soft smile and decided to call all their family friends with Mrs. McGarden to tell them that Lucy had safely returned home.

"By the way, what do you mean you're in their debt?" Levy questioned, curious about her friend's situation. Lucy rubbed the back of her neck nervously before replying.

"Apparently they used a lot of money to help me and so now I have to pay them back."

"Those perverted jerks, probably going to make Lucy pay by making her be their maid in a tiny dress that has to obey their every order!" The petite girl's face was red with anger and from thinking about that kind of job. Lucy just stared at her nervously and thought to herself, 'who's the pervert now…'

"No… That's not what they are making me do… well, they are kind of like slave drivers, but the job isn't that bad. I just have to help them with their jobs for probably the rest of my life." Lucy said thoughtfully.

"How much do you even own them? I can probably help my poor baby Lucy by paying it off, too." Levy said as she made a sort puppy face.

"Over one million jewels," was the blunt reply.

"Pfft! You're on your own!"

"Hey! I thought you were going to maybe help me!" Lucy pouted and crossed her arms. She honestly didn't mind that she had to work on her own, and she knew from the beginning that Levy wouldn't actually help. 'That's what best friends are for any ways', she mused to herself. "Well, I am going to take a shower."

Giving a blissful sigh, Lucy stepped out of the shower and began to change into clothes. Today she decided to wear a black tank top and khaki cargo pants.

"I can finally eat breakfast," she happily told herself as she skipped down the stairs and made herself a nice bowl of cereal. Setting it on the kitchen island, she sat down on one of the bar stools and smiled. Just as she was just about to put a spoonful of cereal into her mouth, she was yanked backwards forcibly causing her to gag and drop her spoon.

Lucy angrily turned around to give someone a piece of her mind but quickly died down as she saw that it was Jellal dragging her to the door. 'What the heck is he doing here?! How did he find me… stalker alert,' she thought to herself and her anger was found once more.

"What do you think you're doing?!" she screeched as she started to squirm under his hold. All she wanted was just to have a peaceful Sunday and eat her beloved cereal. 'But I guess that won't happen.'

"Getting you so we could continue our job from yesterday," he replied coolly. 'The guts that this man has!' she silently fumed as she continued struggled.

The McGardens were in the hallway, silently watching with bewildered expressions as the blue haired man dragged their lovely Lucy out the door. "What… just happened?" Mrs. McGarden said after a long moment of silence.

"Don't worry, she'll be fine… I think…" Levy was the one to reply as she sweat dropped. 'Poor Lucy, what have you gotten in store now?'
