Do not own Fairy Tail or Zombie Loan

A frown was placed on her face as she was dragged through the busy street by Jellal. At the moment she wasn't the happiest camper since she didn't get to eat her cereal. For now, all she could do was to glare holes into the zombie's back.

He obviously noticed her mood and started to wonder if she may be in her time of month. Or secretly pregnant. Jellal heard that women in those moments are overly emotional. 'Women' he thought bitterly to himself, 'always such weird creatures that I shall never understand'

Suddenly he heard Lucy's stomach growl in hunger and stopped in his tracks. He turned his head around to glare at her. "Stupid woman, don't you know how important it is to eat food?"

Lucy stared at him in disbelief. She couldn't believe that he was actually serious! He was the one who dragged her away before she could even take a bite from her breakfast and now he is blaming her?! "You idiot! I was going to eat but you were the one who forced me to come with you!" She screeched as she waved her free hand around.

He just stared blankly back at her before proceeding to walk once more. "Stop making excuses. We'll go to a café."

'This… This man!' she continued to mentally fume to herself angrily about him, cursing in every single way she could. They finally reached a small café in the centre of Magnolia.

"I hope you do have money with you"

"I'm not that poor you know!" She couldn't believe that he could be so rude, 'he'll never get a lady like that.' They sat in the booth by the window and looked at the menus quietly.

This café was known for its delicious, fairly-priced food and beverages. Everything sounds so yummy on the menu; it was just too hard to decide. But after 10 minutes of intense staring and thinking, which made nearby people a bit nervous, she decided on a strawberry milkshake and a chocolate croissant.

"No wonder you're so heavy…" Jellal commented as she ordered, making her throw a glare in his direction. Suddenly he tensed and froze in his seat. A light blush covered his face as his breath hitched up in his throat. Lucy was confused and decided to follow his stare and was shocked to find the school's student president, Erza, standing there.

"Lucy! I heard that you came back home safely; I'm glad." The redhead said with a smile as she walked in their direction.

"Thanks, I am sorry for making everyone worry though."

"That's okay, as long as you're back safe and sound. By the way, I was going to visit you after my stop at the café, but I guess I don't have to anymore."

"Huh? How come? Is something the matter?" Lucy was curious, but I guess you could say curiosity killed the cat.

A large package was dropped onto the table, creating a loud thud. "W-What's this?"

"The work you missed at school," Erza said with a smile that made chills run down her spine.

"O-oh… Thanks… I guess," she mumbled at the last part. She had totally forgotten about school, and now she has to make up for it. 'Damn it, I blame the zombies.'

"Well, I better get going. See you tomorrow at school, Lucy," the last bit made the blonde shiver, she was pretty sure that it was a "be there or else" kind of phrase. "Jellal," she nodded in his direction with a light blush on her cheeks before heading out the door with a cake box.

Lucy turned her attention to the zombie with a mischievous glint in her eyes. She chuckled darkly catching his attention before speaking, "so you like her, hm?"

"W-what! T-that's nonsense!" he stuttered and steam started to come off his red face.

"You don't have to deny it, I find it cute," she winked.

"Don't call me cute!" Jellal fumed, the girl was starting to get on his nerve. He didn't like the fact that she could see through him when they haven't even known each other for long.

She just smiled at him before turning her attention outside the window. "She likes you too," Lucy said softly.

"What?" He said just barely a whisper. He couldn't believe that Erza might like him as well. The thought made his heart feel light and his stomach tight with butterflies. It made him feel happy.

The conversation ended there with a comfortable silence. After eating, they left the café and towards to Jellal and Zeref's house.

When they arrived at the doorstep, they were both pulled into the house by Zeref. Lucy obviously got angry and started yelling at the zombie for dragging them into the house, which might look very suspicious to passerby.

"Just shut up, we have to continue finding the zombie we're after," Zeref said whilst checking if his ears were still okay.

"Humpf" was her only reply before getting ready to leave on zombie hunt.
