Chapter 11
Good Guy or Bad Guy?
Its been weeks since Harry had heard anything about the Crystal of Light. It has also been a while since his scar felt anything. Harry was starting to feel as he could have a normal year at Hogwarts for the first time. But he knew it was a foolish thought; Harry knew much better than to even think that.
He knew this isn't over.

As fall leaves began to disappear, winter snow began to drop. December was just beginning and all Harry could hear about was the Winter Ball. Which, for Harry, was good because it was a distraction. He also didn't know who to ask to the Ball, or even if he wanted to go with someone. Ron had other ideas.
"How 'bout her? Ooh, her? How about that one?" Ron pointed to random girls out to Harry, who didn't recognize any of these girls. They were walking to their next class with Hermione, who was angered by the way Ron was talking about the girls.
"'That one?'" Hermione scrutinized hotly. "Honestly, Ron, you're just like every other boy on this planet! You talk about women like they're objects!"
Ron rolled his eyes, "Oh please Hermione, you're overreacting. I was just helping Harry find someone to ask to the ball!"
"No you weren't!" Hermione retorted. Harry could smell a fight coming on and he just sighed. Hermione continued, "Ron you are the most insensitive prat I have ever met!"
Ron bulged his eyes out, "Me? Hermione you are completely-"
"Oh look we're here!" Harry interrupted. He didn't want another Ron-Hermione bicker fest. And they were indeed here. Their next class was Defense Against the Dark Arts. This year although, he enjoyed this class very much mainly because of their teacher, Professor Bickins. In Harry's opinion, Bickins was the best teacher in Hogwarts. He knew how to teach in a way that would make the students interested, and best of all, he seemed to hate Malfoy.

The 3 entered the classroom with Ron and Hermione still staring daggers at each other. Was it just Harry, or have they been arguing a lot more lately?
After the class was over, Harry gathered up a few things, so he was the last one to leave the classroom. He was in a hurry to get to his next class, so much in a hurry he bumped into someone: Professor Bickens. He was holding books in his hands and they all fell to the floor once they collided.
Harry bent down to help pick up his possesions, "I'm sorry Professor!" he apologetically said.
"Oh, it was my fault, Mr. Potter. Should be watching where Im going, eh?" Bickens smiled a little at Harry and went to pick up his books.
Harry returned the favor and smiled back at him. That smile suddenly faltered when he reached for a book that seemed very familiar…
Then Harry read the cover, "Crystal of Light and beyond". The same book he and his friends were researching about.
Harry must've been staring at the over for long because Professor Bickens noticed and quickly grabbed the book from Harry's hands, "Thank you for helping me, Mr. Potter. I can be such a klutz sometimes, you know?" He tensed, "You should probably be getting to your next class before you're late. Wouldn't want to lose any points for Gryffindor, would you?"
"Um, yeah." This was all Harry could muster up to say. Harry then bid his goodbye to Bickens and left the classroom in a hurry.
Questions were exploding in Harry's mind as he was running to find Ron and Hermione. Why does Bickens have that book? How does Bickens know about the Crystal? Is he working under Voldemort?
Harry honestly didn't know what to think. The way Bickens acted, Harry thought, when he snatched the book away from Harry. He obviously didn't want him to know about it. How much did Harry actually know about Professor Bickens? Wasn't it odd that he just came out of nowhere? Just showed up? Is Bickens the enemy here? Why is he even at Hogwarts?
Harry had to know.
He needed answers.

Hey guys! So yeah, haven't been updating any of my stories since I started high school. I'm really really really sorry. You guys are the best. I remembered how much I loved writing. (and how much I love Harry potter!) Here's something you should know: I really think my writing has matured. In other words its a lot less cheesy. When I read the previous chapters, I realized how cheesy some of the lines were and I laughed at that. I will be updating a lot more frequently, probably in the morning. So stay tuned! Any questions or ideas, please review or PM me. I always am open to your guy's comments! Im also hoping to continue some of the main points of the novel like Ron and Hermione's relationship (jealousy involved: spoiler!) and Harry's journey to find the Crystal and figure out its mysteries.
