"Let's talk seriously boy . Where's the Tesseract ?"

Thessana looked at the man standing in front of her and looking at her with surprise .

"You understand me ? Gods , mortals are so slow .. I know you brought a piece of it to this guy with a moustache . So , where did you find it ?"

"I'm sorry but who the heck are you ? I mean I heard your name but .. How ?"

Don't ask stupid questions or do anything suspect or I'll kill your friend . Steve heard her voice , crystal clear but her lips didn't move . It was all in his mind . He looked at Bucky who came back with two pints of beer .

"Sorry I didn't know what you would drink .." said Bucky , scratching his head .

"It's perfect , thank you mister Barnes . Your friend isn't the talkative kind .." answered the woman with a seductive smile .

"Steve ? He's shy . Even he shouldn't be now !"

"Why ?"

"You're not from here ?"

"No . I'm from … Let just say that I'm far from home ."

"That sucks . Anyway , he's Captain America ! Our national hero !"

The girl starred at him and he saw a green flash in her hand and then a chill ran through his body . You're not human … Steve looked at the two who kept talking like nothing happened .

"Oh boy , it's late . I should go back home now . But Bucky it would be such a pleasure to see you again .."

" Maybe after I come back .. I guess now I have another reason to stay alive ."

The girl giggled and kissed his cheek quickly and left .

"I don't like her ." stated Steve . "Something about her is .. Strange ."

But Bucky wasn't listenning to him . Steve finished his drink and left the bar . But around a corner someone grabbed him and the second after , he was in a dark room . His own room . Someone was pinning him against the wall . Someone way stronger . He looked down and saw two emerald eyes then the person moved in the light .

"What are you ?!" asked Steve , ready to fight , even if she was a woman .

"Look , I don't want to kill you . But if you push me I will . At least that's clear between us . I need to know where you find the glowing blue thing . Remember now ? If I don't find it before .. someone powerful , we'll all die . Not in a soft way . So tell me ."

"Once again , what are you ?"

"Funny question coming from a man who's not human anymore . Tell me how did they transform you into this all muscles guy ? Captain America . This is so pathetic . Look , boy "

"I'm not a boy ! I'm sure I'm older than you !"

"You wish . I can have any informations I want just by searching them in your little head of yours . But it'll painful for you and I don't want to hurt you . At least , not if you cooperate . "

"Are you a spy ?"

"I'm not even from your world . I don't give a single shit about your war ."

"You better talk to Howard Stark . He's the brain . He'll know all you want to know ."

"But you find it ."

"Meet first Stark and I'll tell you where I found it ."

"Liar . But I'll follow you . I guess a little fun never killed anyone ."

"This is incredible . Your DNA is normal but that's the only thing . I never saw such a slow heartbeat . I wish I could run other tests .."

Steve looked at Howard who was running around his lab , full of excitement and taking notes . The girl was sat , looking in silence through the window .

"Why so quiet ?"

"Why do you care Captain ? "

"You are incredible !" shouted Howard . "Look let's make a deal . I'll tell nobody that you are .. Not human . And in exchange you'll have to help me understand this blue thing . "

"I want to know first of all where the Captain found it ."

"Germany ! Why didn't you tell her Steve ?"

"Because she may be a spy ."

"I'm not a spy . I'm from a realm called Asgard even if I spent the last millenium in Westeros . My name isn't Anna Maximoff but Thessana Stark . We are not related . I seek the Tesseract because it possibly could destroy all the realms . Once this job done I'll leave . End of the story ."

"I actually think this war may concern you .." said Howard , sitting in front of her .

"What do you mean ?"

"A man named Johann Schmidt , known today Red Skull , has the Tesseract ? That's how you call it ? Anyway . He succeeded in transform this energy into weapons . Since he's not human he can have for target the other realms . He's also at the head of Hydra , an organization that wants to take over the world with terrorism and subversive activities mainly .."

"Last time I came on Midgard , you guys , were fighting with sticks . And now that happens . You know this will not end with the death of that red man right ? I mean with the Tesseract here and alive , you sent a signal to the others realms . You just told the whole realms that you were ready to face an invasion and maybe give a fair fight . You're so screwed ."

"May I call you Thess ? Look Thess , I don't know where you come from , you are an alien for me but you seem like an honest person . If you need to destroy the Tesseract then I believe you have very good reasons other than the end of our world . Captain Rogers leaves for a mission in a day . You'll go with him . But once your job done , I want your word that you'll come back and explain to me everything . I don't think you're aware of all the knowledge you have that we don't . And it could be useful . Very useful ."

"I'm very aware of that . You , mortals , know nothing . "

"So is that a yes ?"

"Do I need to pack something ?"

Never Thessana saw a land that destroyed . Germany was being bombed all the time . Such weapons was unknown to her but thanks to several books given by Howard , she knew more and more .

"Hey ! Hey !" shouted Steve ."

"I have a name . "

"Right , Stark . We found a shelter for the night . We can't go any further so at least let's get some rest ."

"I follow you captain ."

"Don't need to be that ironic ."

"Don't need to be that cold . I thought you and I were friends ! Or at least that we could bear each other's presence ."

"I bear it . But it doesn't mean I need to be nice to you ."

"Not a great behaviour for a hero ."

She left before he could reply . Those men were kind of stupid , not seeing the real danger around them . And as they all came in the half destroyed warehouse to have some rest , she went to sit on the cold ground looking at the stars .

"I'm not a hero ."

"Oh by the gods … Don't you ever stop ?!"

Steve said nothing but sat next to her .

"Can I ask you a question ?"

"You managed to shut up for a minute . Well done Cap ."

"The stars .. Are they the same in your .. World ?"

"No . Not at all . Everything is so different ."

"And yet , you managed to fit perfectly ."

"No offense , but you people aren't the hardest to understand ."

"Are you always that evil ?"

She looked at him , cocking an eyebrow then laughed , Steve joining her .

"As far as I remember , yeah ..Seriously , I'm not evil , I'm just … I'm homesick but then I remember that I don't have a home left so it makes it kind of worse ..."

"No family ?"

"Killed . My husband was stabbed in the heart on a wedding day and my son got his throat cut ."

Steve said nothing but patted her shoulder . At his surprise , she started to cry silently .

"It's hard to say that out loud . It makes it more real . I always expect all that thing happening to be just a dream . A nightmare . But no . They're really gone . That's why I promised Howard that I will come back after finding the Tesseract . A least I have somewhere to go .."

"My parents died . First my father then my mother . It felt like the world was crumbling … Never I will experience such pain . And people lie . Never it fades away , never you just start living with it . I wake up everyday , thinking about them . And everyday I struggle to wake up and live .. I apologize for my behaviour .. "

"Sorry too .."

"We may not be best friends but at least we can be friends .."

"Deal ."

Steve and Thessana went in the warehouse to see the men in circle around something . She came closer and saw a little boy .

"He's a german . He speaks English . He told us his parents died in a bombing so he stayed here alone .." said Bucky , looking at Steve .

"What are you going to do with him ?" asked Thessana .

"I don't know .." replied Steve .

"We need to kill him !" shouted one of the men . Others cheered .

"Calm down . He's done nothing wrong . We're going to keep him and watch him over the night . We're going to decide tomorrow morning ."

Thessana looked at the boy . Dark hair , blue eyes . He looked like Rickon . He couldn't die . She had to save him . She waited for the men to sleep and after packing a little bag with food and clothes , she went to the place where the boy was . She make the watcher fall asleep and kneeled next to the boy .

"They said you speak English . We need to leave before someone wakes up . Nobody is going to hurt you . "

"Is it a trick ?"

"No . "

"Are you a witch ?"

"I just have some abilities ."

"A boy in my neighborhood was angry at me once and he moved all the metallic stuff ."

"That's impressive . But we need to go . Now ."

The boy stood , took her hand and looked at her .

"My name is Hugo ."

"I'm Thess . Let's go ."

"You need to make it fast before somebody wakes up ."

Thessana turned and looked at Steve . He took one of his guns and handed it to her .

"I have my own weapons Captain . Aren't you going to stop me ?"

"He's a kid . Take him somewhere safe . And don't forget to come back for the Tesseract ."

"I will . Thanks.."

"I'm going back to sleep . You never saw me and I never saw you leaving ."

"Oh uhm … What I told you about my family .. Can you keep it for yourself ? Please ?"

"No problem Thessana ."

"Thanks again Steve ."

He smiled at her and nodded at the kid then left .

"I'm starving . I want to eat . Like right now ."

"You were nicer when you were afraid of me . You are the worst kid ever ."

"Aren't old people supposed to be nice to the new generation ?"

"You consider yourself the new generation ?"

"Yes . I bet I can change the world ! Look at Captain America !"

"How do you know him ? Isn't he the enemy of the Nazis ?"

"It's not because I'm German that I'm a Nazi . Neither were my parents . Captain America embodies hope . He's the man who will save us all ."

"This isn't hope . This is a fantasy . One man cannot change the world ."

"I bet you can ."

"Because I'm not human . "

"You can kick a man's ass ?"

"With a reason ."

"Did you kill someone ?"

"Yes ."

"Are you planning on killing me ?"

"If I wanted to kill you , I wouldn't bother to accompany your little arse in the woods during winter ."

"You could bring food with you .."

"I brought food . You ate it all when I told you not to . Did you listen to me ? No . So it's all your fault ."

"Can't you make food with your … Abilities ? Like just make a hamburger pop up ?"

"Who do you think I am ? Gods … "

"Sorry to ask a clever question ."

"How old are you again ? "

"10 ."

"You have such a big mouth for a little man ."

"And I like to run it !"

"And when are you going to shut it ?"

"When it'll be full with food ."

"Fine ! You stay here , I'll hide you with my abilities but don't move . I'll bring food ."

"I want an hamburger !"

"I'll take what I find . "

"I'm cold too ."

"I'm going to kill you . Seriously ."

He smiled at her , acting all cute . Thessana sighed and her cloack appeared out of nowhere . She covered him and hide him . Nobody could see him except her .

"Why a wolf ?"

"It's a direwolf . "

"That doesn't exist ."

"It does . Where I come from . It was the symbol of my family . Don't ruin it ."

"I'll take care of it … It's nice to have something from family … I wish I had something .."

"You have me ."

Hugo lifted his blue eyes at her and smiled again , joy shining in his eyes .

"Don't start crying . I'm coming back . Soon ."

And she disappeared .

"This is the best burger I've ever eaten !" shouted Hugo , his mouth full .

"Stop screaming , what if somebody hears us ?"

"Then you'll kill them ."

"You have a serious problem with killing people , you're aware of that ?"

"I want to kill Nazis . As many as possible . They killed my parents so I have to avenge them ."

"Vengeance isn't the only option . What about forgiving ?"

"There's no forgiveness . "

"You don't even know how to fight ."

"Teach me !"

"Okay . Let's start ."

"Are you serious ?"

"Yes . Come on !"

Thessana started to teach him some basic move she learnt with the guards back in Asgard , when she was still a child . Hugo was a fast learner and quickly he could make the moves fast enough .

"Can we make a break ? It's been like an hour ."

"It's been 30 minutes . Drink water and walk a little or you'll be sore ."

She handed him the water and they started to walk through the large trees , listenning to the wind . Until a gunshot was heard . Hugo left running to where the noise was made , Thessana behind him , casting a hiding spell on them .

"Nazis … Why did they kill those persons ?" whispered Hugo . "And what are they doing in the middle of the woods ?"

"Let's follow them ."

They walked carefully behind them until they reach a building , and behind it , a sort of camp .

"What is that ?"

"I don't know ..." answered Hugo . "Let's see .."

They walked to the wire fencing and looked at some people wandering in it . They were all thin , skin right on their bones . They were all pale and looking like death .

"Why are they wearing pyjamas ?" , Hugo looked shocked and wasn't understanding what he was looking at .

"You speak German right ? Call one of them and ask him what is that ?"

Hugo whistled one of the man but he left running . Then he called a child who came to the fence . Thessana gave him some bread as Hugo was speaking to him . Tears were running on his cheeks .

"What is happening ? Hugo ?"

"This is a camp . They're prisonners . Some died because of the lack of food or because of the diseases . "

"Why are they prisonners ? Who are they ?"

"They're writers , artists in general … Some publicly said that they were against Hitler . But mainly they are all jews ..."

"Jews ?"

"This is a religion ..."

"You mean that Hitler decided to put all the people of the same religion out of the society ..."

The little boy started to speak quickly , pointing at the bulding .

"What's happening ?" asked Thessana , looking around .

"He said that one boy in his shed was asked to go in the bulding everyday . But one day he said that Dr. Klaus Schmidt was running some tests on him and he never came back ."

The boy said something and left running .

"He fears the guards . They're coming soon to check on them so he left before . We need to see if that boy is still alive ! The lab rat !"

"This isn't safe . What if we got caught ?"

"You saved me ! You can't let another human being suffer like this !"

"Hugo , you were alone . I can't save thousands of people ! "

"If you're not going , I am ."

And he left running , towards the bulding . Thessana disappeared and reappeared in front of him , taking him by the shoulders .

"Don't do that again . Stay behind me ."

"How did you do that ?" he whispered .

"Ssshh .."

They walked in the bulding , several guards and other important men on their way until they reached a door with written on it ' Klaus Schmidt ' .

"What are you waiting ? Open it ."

"And if he's in there ? "

"What do we do then ?"

"We appear in it . "

"Great !"

He held her waist as hard as he could with his tiny arms and they appeared in the room . They both looked at what was happening . Thessana had seen a lot of things , even lived through a war , faced death . But never she's seen someone torture a kid . Hugo held her harder , shaking a little .

"Thess .. I know him . That's the boy from my nieghborhood . Max ."
