The Killing Pandemic

The apartment

"Shut up!" Ella screamed thrusting a knife into Dawn's alarm clock. "Ella! Gosh, it's just an alarm clock! Sheesh." Dawn yelled, petrified that her Mom would do such a thing. "Don't talk to me that way!" Ella screamed clutching her knife as if she were about to stab Dawn…..

The Berlitz weren't rich, After all the Mafia tracked them down and a took away Donny's remaining cash. Luckily They weren't home at the time. The Berlitz apartment consisted of A oily couch, springs and stuffing poking out of every nook and cranny. A cracked television stood on a post. Carpets earlier white now brown. A cot stood in front of a dining room table, covered with magazines. Entering their kitchen, A smell of rotten eggs would invade you nostrils. This happens to be because Ella left the eggs out. Pungent odors emitted from the white; now yellow with food stains Fridge, With only A carton of milk, Stale pizza, cheese, apples, soda, and water bottles. Cupboards barely withstanding Ella's rage. Hinges stood on end, and rusty nails littered the counter. A bathroom to the left of the kitchen stood bare with only a bathtub, a sink, And a bucket , acting as a toilet. Right across from that so called bathroom was Dawn's room, Ella during night the would usually fall asleep in front of the T.V. If not, she would take Dawn's room and Dawn got the cot in front of the table.

Dawn's room was probably the nicest room in their apartment. A mattress lays on the ground with mismatching blankets and a bag of flour acting as a pillow. Crates filled with clothes from Wal-Mart. A school uniform lays on the ground for the private school Dawn worked academically hard for.

NOW THE STORY BEGINS….. FINALLY…

Ella was bipolar.. At least Dawn thinks so. For some reason It gave her a sense of relief to think that the only reason she didn't act like she loved her was because she had a mental condition. Dawn truthfully loved her mother. Just she wasn't sure how Ella felt, So she thought it was possible for her to be bipolar.

"Bye Mom! I love you!" Dawn cried gleefully. She felt as if this was her last chance to tell her how she felt. "Uh huh, Bye" Ella was stuffing her face with old cheese as she said that. "Do You love me?" Dawn asked hopefully. " I guess." She replied. To Dawn, that was a yes.. … " Well Bye then!" Ella continued. "Bye Mom, I truthfully love you." Those words from Dawn made Ella want to puke. Might as well tell the kid I feel the same way she thought heartlessly. " Love you to Kid." She finally said.

As Dawn was heading out the door she caught a glimpse of the new guy, Paul. "Bye Mom! Love you!" He shouted. Dawn only heard a muffled reply and Paul's laugh. "What's your name new guy?" Dawn asked stepping out of the door frame, hopefully sparking some attraction he might feel towards her. " Paul, and your's is Dawn." He said, With a grin. "How'd you know?" She laughed. "We are, like, in every single class together." He responded, Red flushing his cheeks.

"Uh , we should probably at least try to catch the bus." He continued, The red getting brighter by the minute. "Yeah." She agreed, She couldn't help but notice the kid looked emo…. But he was cute at least, Dawn thought.

Walking down the broken steps, They made there way towards an exit. A broken down soda machine stood by the exit's side. Everyone knew if you punched the machine's side, hit Coca-Cola and shook it three times exactly. An ancient bottle of pop would emerge. Dawn took the knowledge she had and showed off to Paul. "Are you seriously gonna drink that thing? It's like Two-hundred years old!'' He exclaimed. "No, But my mom will… It's like water now so I guess it would be okay to drink…" She replied.

BACK AT THE APARTMENT…..

KNOCK,KNOCK, BANG, CRASH,MOAN,KNOCK. "Dan, Er' Dawn will yo-." Ella started , Remembering Her daughter went to school she got up from the somewhat comfortable couch. "Who is it?" She sighed . A faint moan was the only reply. "Go away!" She cried, walking away. BANG! A shard of the door landed on her feet. " I'm coming!" She yelled, highly aggravated. "Who breaks someone's door…." She muttered. Slowly opening the door. "What the.." She started but the last words of Ella Berlitz or noise I guess you could put it was a high, shrill scream…..

I hoped you liked it
