DAWN'S DAD

Donny Berlitz was a simple man, a trustworthy man. At least that's what people thought. He had brown, spiky hair, and stubble on his chin. A crisp, cut, black suit coated his body, as if he were a professional business man.

Give or take a few, Donny started his life of crime BEFORE he met Ella. When he was Ten , he stole his first candy bar. He enjoyed the power then and, he enjoyed it for the rest of his short life. He met Ella while he was selling cocaine to a local district attorney . As soon as they looked at each other , they fell in love. Well, more Donny then Ella.

After he and Ella started dating, he taught her how to be a professional criminal. She got her share of the money, he got his. He stole, sliced, diced, and held hostage anyone who was suspicious of him. He had quite the life. A pent house overlooked Petalsburg. And a high tech security system. He also owned several safe houses. ( The one that Dawn and Ella live in included) A year later, A man by the name of Jackson Gray visited Donny. He had a shiny bald head, and big, brown eyes, that stared at you like a vulture. His was on the larger side , and wore a greasy pin suit.

"I think we should work together." The man said. " Call me Gray. Jackson Gray." he continued, sticking out a meaty, grease covered hand. Donny only agreed to keep his cover, but little did he know that this was they mafia he was going to betray, this is the mafia that watched him like a hawk, this is the mafia that would track him down and end his miserable life….

After Donny agreed , there was no getting out. Sure, he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Ella, but who was he kidding? He was a mafia member, or THE BLUE EAGLES as Jackson calls them. "The Blue Eagles" were an elite group, They hid out in Geoffrey's basement and discussed business as usual. Such as, " Who's a threat?' or " Should we kill him?" This was all in a days work…..

Another year passed and he and Ella had Dawn. She looked just like her mother. Navy blue hair, eye's like the ocean. Business was just as usual and the Berlitz's were getting richer by the day. When Dawn was 5, he taught her everything he knew, to keep this so called "legacy" of his for her to be a professional criminal, such as himself. He taught her how to fight, he taught her how to kill to kill a man with a piece of uncooked spaghetti, he taught her everything and anything to stay alive and/or keep this dream of his alive. He truthfully loved Dawn and Ella, and he hated more than anything in the world, His "Crew". ….

When Dawn turned 6, he decided to leave "THE BLUE EAGLES" and have a somewhat normal life. Oh, of course he was still a criminal, just retired for the time being. When he announced his departure, The guys went ballistic! Jackson said. "We will track you down, and gut you open like a fish!" and grabbed Donny with his meaty hand. Shaking the imbecile off, he left the basement and returned to his family…..

A few months of moving place to place tired Ella out. She complained daily about the "Lack of sociable occasions." Dawn was already mastering martial arts and was learning how to cut out infectious serums. You see , Donny and the mafia created this bacteria like stuff. ( He never was a man of science.) They added chemicals , and all sorts of bacteria, anything lethal was put into the serum. Jackson was going to use the serum to kill off any one he had to, but it did the opposite of that…

They all knew it was a dangerous infection that had no antidote they knew of. But the government did, They were prepared for all sorts of weird things. So Donny and the mafia stole it, they stole formula, and any sample of it. They trusted Donny with it but he gave it to Ella, who after he died threw it away, which was somehow miraculously found, by none other than Dawn herself. She kept it in her watch compartment at all times. Which she forgot about ….

On December 23 , THE BLUE EAGLES killed Donny and got there revenge. They needed the antidote back, so they searched him. Nothing. Even thou Ella hid what happened to Donny a secret, Dawn found out by her curiosity….

Back to the story….

"What time is it?" Paul mumbled, finally waking up from his nap. " 2:03." Dawn said looking at her gold plated, red watch….
