Here it is… Late as always! Thanks go to Hugs6 for telling me that this wasn't up. I thought that it was so… Here it is! ;)
Kaleb
He didn't know if it was the exhilarating feeling of flying or the thrill of going to battle but either way he felt happy. It was strange as he knew he was on his way to fight Camp Half-Blood along with all the hellhounds, hydras and bronze bulls heading that way. He'd gotten a ride courtesy of Kronos on a Stymphalian bird which was why he was feeling happy and free. The Kronos part? Not so happy about but still… He was flying!
As he saw Camp Half-Blood he looked to the east and there he could see a smoky thing racing through towards the same place he was headed. That was when it struck him… Not only would he be fighting but he'd be fighting against her too. The gloom set in as the bird he was on swooped to land.
As soon as the bird had touched the ground Kaleb leapt off of its back and drew out his blade ready to fight but there wasn't anybody to battle yet. He looked down the hill into Camp Half-blood and couldn't see anything but he didn't doubt how they'd be preparing for battle as fast as possible. Sure enough as he said this he saw campers spilling from around the house by the strawberry fields, all wearing armour. He took a deep breath to steady his nerves then turned to face the army that Kronos had summoned here. They were still arriving but they hadn't quite reached where he was yet and that was when he noticed three figures. It was Percy, Nico and Amelia. His breath hitched as he saw her face. It was pale and sweaty yet her eyes shone with defiance and energy but when they saw him at the top of the hill they filled with hope. If only she knew why he was really there.
Amelia
As soon as she saw Kaleb all armoured up with a sword in his hands she was filled with relief, maybe they may win after all. Percy was still clutching her wrist and dragging her along as he ran. Nico was bringing up the rear and shouting to hurry up. She glanced behind and would have frozen if Percy hadn't been dragging her. Instead she stumbled and almost pulled Percy down but he let go of her hand in surprise. She hit the floor and immediately rolled so that Nico wouldn't trip over her. Percy looked back at her with desperation evident in his eyes.
She pushed herself up onto her knees and only managed a gasp of surprise as something pushed her back down.
"Amelia!" she heard Percy shout. She tried to see what was on her back but couldn't. Whatever it was it was snarling and drooling down her neck. She struggled but couldn't get out from underneath. Percy was trying to push his way through the stampede of creatures alongside Nico but even she could see that he was too far away. It was up to her to help herself but she didn't know what to do.
The creature on top of her moved further up her back until it was crushing the air out of her lungs. She gasped and attempted to bring in air but her lungs wouldn't let her.
Black dots were spotting her vision which made the next events hard to follow. All she heard was a voice that sounded like Kaleb, ordering the beast to leave her. It jumped off obediently and she found herself having some sort of tunnel vision before there was nothing at all.
Her eyes opened onto a scene that she didn't expect at all. She was above the scene of the battle, watching as demons and people alike were hurt and slaughtered. She pulled in a breath as she saw herself, pushed to the side with her eyes closed.
"No…" she gasped, tears forming as realisation dawned. She was dead. She was too young to die, that's what she'd always been taught anyway. She scanned the battle ground and saw Percy and Nico almost immediately, back to back fighting off a ring that had gathered around them. There were campers on their way up to the top of the hill from the house in the valley and as the first comers arrived, could see Kaleb fighting them off.
Wait…
Kaleb?
Before she could process this shocking bit of information she felt a sharp pain in her chest area. She screamed but nobody could hear her.
Somebody was performing mouth to mouth resuscitation on her and she could feel a pull because of it. When the person came up she saw that it was a girl with blonde hair and stormy grey eyes. She was wearing an orange t-shirt with the words camp half-blood written on it.
She pushed onto Amelia's chest once more and she couldn't resist the pull any more. After a confusing, fleeting feeling she managed to take a deep breath and sat bolt up right. Surprising the girl who'd just saved her life.
Amelia looked at her with confusion but couldn't speak yet. Instead all she could do was relish the feeling of breathing. Thankfully the girl understood her immediately.
"We can't hang around as you've probably noticed but I need to get you to safety. I already know who you are Amelia but as for me, I'm Annabeth."
That's all for now… Exams to prepare for but… Oh, the hell with being boring, I will try to update sometime in the next fortnight! Lots of thank you's go out to Hugs6, karra and NightcatMau for reviewing the last chapter!
As always, please review!
