xxi actually have zero excuses for why i haven't updated in god knows how long i am so sorry i hope some of you are still somewhat interested in the story!

i am changing some things up, editing a few chapters here and there and instead of making everything in first person, its now in third person. i just like writing it better like that. i changed the previous chapters to third person too. i also just realized that the characters were a bit OOC so that's modified slightly. hope you enjoy!

Connors Pov

After they left, Connor could feel a pair of heated eyes on my back. He slowly turned around and glared at Lola.

"What is it that you want from me? If you wanted your son, you could have come on the ship and taken him back. Surely it couldn't have been that hard."

Lola whipped out her knife and aimed it at his throat. "Do not question the way I do things,"she snarled. "You have made a huge mistake taking what is mine."

Connor looked up at her with equal fire blazing in his eyes. "I think its high time someone started questioning the way you do things. You're a manipulative brute, who quite frankly, can barely even keep a whole crew or two satisfied because your husband is now dead. How are you possibly going to support this child in the best way possible? Take him gallivanting? That's the way you do things and that's not a good environoment for a child to be in!" He was yelling at this point.

Lola dug the knife deeper into his flesh and sneered. "He is a vampire. He needs to grow up as his true self, not the self-loathing way you Nocturnals live by. He needs to be able to unleash his own destiny and be free to do that he wants whenever he wants, not be locked up in a cabin during the day and prowl around pacifists. He needs to be a true Vampirate. He needs his mother."

Lorcan's Pov

Johnny slammed the cabin door shut and shoved Lorcan into a chair by the porthole of the cabin. Lorcan peered up at him through his dark lashed not saying a word, just scowling. Do this for Grace, do this for Grace...

"This is how it's going to work, Furey. I'm going to need to get some answers out of you to please my new Captain. And you're going to give them to me. If you don't, well, things are going to get nasty," he said. He leaned down and whispered in his ear. "And we wouldn't want Grace to fret about something that is easily avoidable, now would we?"

Lorcan inhaled a deep, calming breath. "No," he whispered. "We wouldn't." Johnny smiled mischievously.

"Good. In that case, we'd better get down to business. You answer my questions truthfully, you'll get to go free, as much as I'd love to inflict pain upon you. If you don't well, seeing as dawn is now on its way, I'll expose you to the sun light. You and I both know what a havoc that would cause relapses aren't too good are they?" Johnny gave a strained laugh.

"You wouldn't do that. Grace would never forgive you," Lorcan tried to compromise, while desperately trying to hide his fear.

Johnny looked thoughtful for a moment, giving Lorcan a ray of hope, which soon sizzled away as Johnny's face darkened again. "You're right Furey, she wouldn't forgive me, but inflicting pain on you is like inflicting pain on Grace. She hurt me, much more than you could ever imagine, and quite frankly, she deserves this. She deserves to suffer the way I have."

"No she doesn't, she-" Lorcan began, but got cut off by a impatient Johnny.

"As much as I'd love to talk about Grace all night, or should I say morning now, we have more pressing things to discuss, so I suggest we just get down to business." Lorcan nodded slowly.

"Good, let's just cut to the chase. Where is Lola's son?" Johnny asked.

Lorcan chuckled. "How ironic, coming from you, and correct me if I'm wrong but weren't you the one who-"

"Where the hell is he Furey?" Johnny fumed.

Lorcan shook his head. "I can't tell you that. Lola is nothing to her son anymore. He'd have a better life with Grace and I taking care of him. You said so yourself."

Johnny shook his head. "Well maybe I thought wrong."

Jasmine's POV

Stukeley guided Jasmine through the cabin door, and slammed it shut.

"Okay cut to the chase. What the hell is going on?" She demanded.

Stukeley smiled. "Sorry, just needed to make it seem like I was actually mad that Lola's son is missing and I was goign to get some answers out of you. I thought slamming the door was a goo idea." He shrugged apologetically.

Jasmine glowed with relief. "So your not going to hurt me, or any of us?"

"I can't promise what the other lads are going to do to their captives, but yes, I promise I won't hurt you."

Jasmine shook her head, pleading now. "Stukeley please. Go back and get Connor, Grace and Lorcan. Just tell Lola it was all a misunderstanding-"

"NO!" Stukeley interrupted, fuming. "That woman is crazy, beyond crazy. Once she makes up her mind about something, she won't stop until she gets what she wants! She'll keep manipulating you, blackmailing you, the list is endless. You will listen to me and take my word when I say convincing her that her son is not with you guys is not an option!"

Jasmine backed away startled by the outburst. "Alright! But please, you have to help me get Connor back out of her clutches. Do it for Connor. You guys were friends once, remember? He used to tell me so much about-"

"Stop," Stukeley said, his voice low and commanding. "You need to stop this right now."

But Jasmine was on a roll, she couldn't stop. Not until he broke and helped her. "Why? What is so bad about your past that you don't want to relive it? Why-"

"Because I can't, Jasmine!" Stukeley cried. "I can't go back to the way things were. Connor, Bart and I, yes we used to be the best of friends, like brothers. My death ruined everything. Sidorio ruined everything. If I never became a vampirate, I never would have had to live off blood, caused so much havoc, ruined the three most important relationships in my life..."

"Who were the three people?" Jasmine asked, softly.

Stukeley let out a sigh. "Connor, Bart and Darcy."

"Darcy? You know her?" Jasmine asked confused.

Stukeley gave a sad smile. "I loved her more than anything. We would talk about everything and anything. Then I ruined everything by going and joining Sidorio and his crew. I even proposed to her you know? And now she's married to someone else." He paused for a moment, then asked softly. "Is she happy? With him?"

"She is. They love each other," Jasmine said, quietly. Stukeley nodded and looked away.

"But Connor? You could still make things better with him," Jasmine said, trying to lighten the mood, but failing when she saw a dark look come across Stukeley's face.

"No. That couldn't possible work. Darcy and Connor are both technically on enemy lines, and it would cause even more havoc to break them."

But Jasmine pressed on. "I'm sure Connor would forgive you. He told me you were a like an older brother to him, you and Bart."

Stukeley shook his head "It would never work. Bart's long gone, me being in his life will just bring up more unwanted memories. And say if I do leave Lola and her crew and Johnny. Then what? I'm supposed to go live on the Vampirate ship? Darcy would never forgive me, let alone the captain! Connor may at some point, he's always been good-hearted, but I've done many terrible horrible things, that I can never get back."

"But-" Jasmine began.

"And you know the worst part? The person i want more in this world is the one person I can never get back."
