Chapter 12 - The Rabbit and the Wolf
(Crystal's POV)
Crystal hid in the foliage, keeping an eye on the two people sitting around the camp fire. She didn't want to do this, she didn't want to be here at all. She was starving and not wanting to poison herself with rotten pork, and with no fuel for a furnace the camp fire was her only choice.
Her plan was simple: wait until the people at the camp fire left, then see if she could salvage the fire. But it didn't come without risks - if she didn't get to the fire as soon as they left she would have no chance of salvaging it. So all she could do was wait at a safe distance and hope that she didn't starve before they left.
There was a male and a female sitting around the fire. The female had long bright red hair pulled into a pony tail and a red cape, whereas the male had carefully styled dark brown hair with a light patch at the front and a purple mask and cape. The cape also had strange purple eyes on the back. The female had her back to Crystal whereas the male was side on to her hiding spot.
She could just see the side of his face. She tried to see if she could see his eyes, when she lost her footing and fell face first to the floor. Looking up she confirmed her fear - they had both stood up and were drawing their swords, so she did the only thing she could, run.
She ran though the forest, small branches lashing out and cutting her arms and legs. She glanced behind and took a sigh of relief when she noticed she was far ahead, but the distraction caused her to trip on a root which sent her tumbling, hitting her head on a rock.
She lifted her head slightly and noticed a pool of blood staining the ground around her head. The world began to blur and spin, her body seemed so heavy and the darkness so welcoming.
"I think we lost her."
"She can't have gone far, keep looking."
The voices sounded like an out of tune radio but she managed to pick something out of it, she wasn't safe here.
She staggered to her feet putting her hand to her head. Her heart seemed to beat unusually loud, she could feel the blood pumping though her body. She tried to move forward but stumbled to the side, causing a branch to rip her genes and cut her as she fell into as bush by the side of a mountain and found herself in some sort of cave. With her last ounce of energy she dragged herself to the side of the cave before passing out.
(Kimi's POV)
They had spent quite a while roaming around the run-down town finding quite a lot of loot. It was about midday when they came to rest in one of the least run-down houses, Toby started cooking raw meat in the furnaces and Ty sat on the floor sorting though his things. Kimi had left to scout out the area, check for any chests and make sure it was safe. She was making her way back across the rooftops and was just a few houses away from the one they were staying at when she saw someone turn the corner and head for that same house.
A guy walked down the street with a black trench coat flowing behind him, contrasting his pale skin and white hair. He also wore a red shirt and trousers. He was just about to enter the house when she jumped down from the roof, blocking his path. Seeing her in front of him he didn't hesitate to pull out his sword and attack, and he was fast.
She moved out the way just quick enough to miss the blow, she took out her sword, which she was now glad that she had upgraded to an iron sword because it looked like he was going to be good competition.
Turning around she swiped at his legs, just cutting the fabric as he went for another attack and she was forced to block it, locking there swords over each other. He had the most unusual grey eyes which she couldn't help but stare at them and read them.
It was a specical talent of hers to read people's eyes. There is a saying that goes "the eyes are the doorway to the soul" or something like that anyway. And she simply had eyes that could change to fit the lock of all the doors. She once asked someone what it was like for them when she read their eyes and they told her that her eyes seemed to reflected the colour and pattern of their own eyes, and it kind of felt like they were about to be put into a trance.
That was probably why the guy stopped pushing against her sword and instead just looked at her, that was until she spoke.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Kimi."
"I'm Wolf." he said before he lifted his sword up and took a swing at her head.
"Wolf, seriously. That's a stupid name." She blocked the blow and pushed him away sending him tumbling back slightly.
"Better than the name Kimi, sounds silly." Using the stumble to her advantage she kneed him in the stomach sending him falling backwards.
"It was actually the name I gave to my pet rabbit when I was little, I really like that rabbit."she pinned his arms to the floor, kneeling beside him.
"So I'm guessing its a fake name then. You could have picked some thing cooler like mega annoying." He brought one of his legs in front of her knees and took her legs out from underneath her before swinging his body around and pinning her to the floor, him now on top.
"Because you'd know all about giving your self great fake names, I mean come on, Wolf? What about Lupus or something" Kimi relaxed her muscles, letting her sword fall out of her grip.
"Na, Wolf's catchier, this way even stupid people get the meaning" He lent over her smiling in victory.
"Sure, Wolf it is. Well Wolf it sure is nice weather to lie on top of a girl with your faces so close you could just lean in and kiss them."
"What are you suggesting?" He loosened his grip slightly.
"I'm suggesting that you're good." she leaned in slightly, "but not good enough." She kneed him in the balls and he crumpled up in pain, giving Kimi time to roll out from underneath him, grab a sword and stand on his back pointing it sword at his exposed neck.
"For a second there I really thought you were a challenge, but now you're dead." she lifted her sword as if to strike but instead just put it away. "Metaphorically of course. I'm not really going to kill you, you're joining our group, now get up and stop complaining. I'll introduce you to the others, explain all the shiz that's going on, then head back to the meeting place."
She lent her hand to help him up bu he ignored her, he stood up picked up his sword and began to follow Kimi inside the house, quietly mimicking her voice behind her back.
Just before she opened the door she turned round to face him.
"quick question, were is your partner?"
"Ow her, um... well we kinda got separated and i haven't seen her since."
(Duncan's POV)
With the night creeping up on them, Duncan, Sophia and Martin headed back to the set meeting place. They had stayed mostly at the edge of the commercial part of town collecting loot. They had had a brief encounter with Sjin and Minty as they were heading into the town center and it seemed like they knew exactly were they were going, and with none of their group really wanting a fight they managed to go unnoticed.
They arrived at the meeting place first but the other group was not far behind. When the other group arrived Sophia instantly went to check on Ty and Martin went to greet Toby. No one noticed the extra face until Kimi spoke up, disturbing the reunions.
"Hey you lot, in case you hadn't noticed we have a new guy with us. This is Wolf, Wolf this is Duncan, Sophia and Martin."
There was a mutter of "hi"s. Martin and Toby headed into the cave and a few seconds later Toby rushed out and said,
"there's someone unconscious in the cave."
Everyone went into the cave to find Martin kneeling by an unconscious girl with long bright blue hair stained with mud and blood which leaked from a wound in her head. She wore a light blue t-shirt and skinny jeans. Their was also a large gash on the lower part of her leg. Martin was doing his best to patch up her wounds and make sure she didn't die of blood loss.
On entering the cave and seeing this there was varied different reactions. Wolf swore, Sophia told him not to, he explained that she's his partner that he had gotten separated form, Toby went to help Martin, Kimi whispered "Crystal" before leaving the cave, Wolf questioned how Kimi knew her name, Duncan sighed and decided to go after her and Ty went back to his favourite corner and pick a fresh piece of grass to shred.

Kimi: ya ya, maybe you should answer the question you forgot about.
Me: Ya, good idea. Mintiecool1 asked: you use Duncans real name, but not Lewis or Simons?
I generally like to use their minecraft names when it's set in minecraft or similar but for some reason i can never bring myself to call him Lalna, Its hard to explain i just never think of him as Lalna and i kinda like to thing that that is his last name or something, i dunno i'm not good at explaining things.
