"Akashi-kun, you're blocking my way." Kuroko stated, staring slightly down at the dual colored eyes of the red head. Which would usually annoy the red head to no end but, when it was Kuroko, he strangely didn't mind.
"I just wanted to confirm where you were going. Also, I would like a chess match with you sometime this week." Akashi stated almost boredly as he stared back at the deep blue eyes.
"Why do you want to know where I'm going?" Kuroko selectively did not hear the later sentence that the red head had said.
"No reason. Just… curious." Akashi lied – after all, he already knew exactly where Kuroko was going. And that he'd get a surprise when he got there.
"Then Akashi-kun doesn't need to know." Kuroko said, almost feeling the incredulous stares from all of his classmates for his brave statement. Akashi smiled though, in a way that no one had expected.
"Tetsuya, tell me." Akashi muttered low enough for none of the other students to hear, for which Kuroko was grateful.
"I'm heading to the set of the new drama I'm leading in." Kuroko said and Akashi moved out of the way.
"Alright then. I'll see you later." Kuroko had to wonder what this whole conversation had been about. Really, couldn't Akashi just move out of his way when he was in a hurry to get to the meeting place? There was no reason for this short conversation and what did Akashi mean when he said 'see you later'? He had never said that to Kuroko before, what was the issue today? Was Akashi just in an exceptionally good mood? After all, he had smiled at Kuroko when Kuroko had denied the information he wanted. Wouldn't he usually glare or scare the information out of him after that? Kuroko had seen him do that to both Aomine and Kise during the last couple months in the school, though the two still acted out and didn't obey immediately while Midorima, Murasakibara, and Momoi did. Kise sometimes did but not as often.
Kuroko left the school quickly, dodging any possible run-ins with people – after all, he didn't want to make his reputation as a clutz become even larger. As soon as he settled into the leather seat of his manager's car, in the back where the windows were better tinted, his manager started speaking agitatedly. "There's been a recent change in cast so I was told that we aren't actually starting filming today. But the new actors had requested to meet you so we are still going to be going. Also, the script writer needed some inspiration so she wants to see all of you together." Mei looked into the rearview mirror to meet Kuroko's eyes. "Don't worry, apparently the main idea is going to be the same – the script is just being changed to suit the characters."
"I never said I was worried, Mei-chan." Kuroko faintly smiled at his manager's reflection. "Actually, I'm quite curious about who could change the mind of the 'unmovable' Takuya." From what Kuroko had heard, the man was more stubborn than a mule and wouldn't do something unless he wanted to do it himself. Such as when he decided that he must have Kuro Te to be his lead female.
"Well, it's never a good thing if Takuya-san changes his mind this close to the production." Mei scowled at the red light. "In fact, it's an extremely bad thing for him to do that the first day of the production."
"We'll see when we get there, Mei-chan." Kuroko awkwardly smiled at his angry manager. "Now please stop glaring at innocent objects, it's making me uneasy."
…
"Move, move!"
"Where is it? I could have sworn –"
"Have you seen outfit B that was to be worn in scene forty eight? It was supposed to be – "
The sounds of the workers rushing around filled Kuroko's sensitive ears as he opened the doors to the set area that had been chosen for the bedroom. He had been told that this room was to be his character's room during the first episode and that Takuya was in this room since it was also the main storage area for the clothing and such of the film. The fact that there were so many people rushing around was a cause for concern. After all, when Kuroko heard the script writer needed inspiration, he was assuming that it was only a few words here and there in certain scenes. The frantic running and tense air showed that wasn't the case. It seemed like the whole script was going to be rewritten.
"Kuro-chan! You're finally here! I've been waiting so long!" A female voice rang out through the other loud sounds, causing Kuroko to look for the source only to be pushed into a busty woman's chest. He heard some muffled words but couldn't quite make them out then he was brought back a foot away from the woman so that she could inspect his face. "You're so so so much cuter than I thought you would be! The magazines and book covers don't do you justice! You need to flaunt your adorableness to the rest of the world." Kuroko looked over the woman, ignoring the ramblings about how 'adorable' and 'cute' he was – he had heard it so many times after all – and realized this woman was actually the popular actress and script writer Kuraiya Nadeta-chan*. She was said to be the envy of most women in Japan, along with a lot of Chinese women. She was actually most seen playing the role of a business woman.
Her hair was supposedly made of the finest silk that God had spun especially for her, an intriguing silvery blue color that was always perfect no matter what type of day she was having. Her clothes, whether for a 'sit at home and do nothing day' outfit or a 'dressy' outfit, always looked great on her. She was pretty outgoing and she has said before that she prefers men with heterochromatic eyes but she prefers reverse harems instead. There was actually an interview of her in the same magazine that Kuroko had be featured in that stated a bunch of random facts about her, such as her likes and dislikes. It also stated her favorite type of date.
"Kuraiya-chan, it's nice to meet you." Kuroko smiled to the silverette, interrupting her speech about how Kuroko was more adorable that a puppy and a kitten combined, and removed the woman's hands from his shoulders. "But I must talk with the director; could you tell me where he is?" Kuraiya's face turned into a disapproving stare.
"That drunkard? He's not even here yet! He called me and told me he'd be late and his was so obviously slurred I wanted to go see him just so I could pummel his face into the ground." The woman seemed just a tiny bit angry.
"Alright. Then I need to meet my new cast mates." Kuroko said, smiling to the woman in a strained way. He wasn't used to smiling for this long.
"Oh! Alright, I'll take you there!" She immediately brightened up at the thought of this. As she grabbed Kuroko's hand and pulled him out of the room and down the hallways, she started gushing. "Guess what? All five of these young men are all around your age! This is going to be absolutely perfect, there's even one with heterochromia! Then this blond is absolutely adorable and I wanna take him and kidnap him and do so many different interesting things to him. Oh! There's also this extremely tall childish guy who –"Kuroko tuned the woman out as she spoke about the men he was supposed to cast with. He wanted to meet the men himself and decide his own judgments on them. "Here we are!"
"Kuroko-chi! Ahomine-baka* is being so mean to me!" Kise wailed the moment Kuroko stepped into the room that was to serve as the classroom when they were shooting scenes for the classroom. Kise was currently being pinned down to the ground with his arm held behind him in a very interesting angle, mostly used in self-defense martial arts. Kise was laying on the ground in that hold, Aomine was sitting on his back while pinning him like that and barely managing to stay on top of the wriggling male, Murasakibara was sitting outstretched in one of the chairs, Midorima was leaning against the chalkboard and reading a book with an annoyed expression, and Akashi was leaning against the wall and staring out the window contemplatively – now he is staring at Kuroko with a vague interest.
"Only because you deserve it, you idiot!" If Kuroko didn't know better – but then again, what did he know about this boy? – he could have sworn that Aomine was in the middle of blushing. But of course, Kuroko was never going to find out about the scene that had happened just minutes ago where Kise was teasing Aomine about the photobooks that he 'undoubtedly' had of Kuroko.
"But all I did was say you probably have an unnumerable number of Kuroko-chi's photo – ow ow ow ow ow owowow OW!" Aomine had tightened his hold on Kise's arm, forcing it to go even further up. Kise looked to be in serious pain.
"Aomine-kun, it isn't nice to hurt people, even if they do deserve it." Kuroko blandly said as he walked forward, pulling Kise up from the floor with quite a lot of struggling after Aomine moved away.
"Awe! Kuroko-chi cares about me! He* loves me more than all of you!" Kise stuck his tongue out at the group who showed their varying expressions of annoyance and Kuroko deadpanned in Kise's embrace.
"Kise-kun, please let go of me." Kuroko said, hitting Kise's side with a sharp jab that made him crumple in on himself.
"But-but you just said that it isn't nice to hurt people, even if they deserve it! And I didn't deserve to be hit!" Kise wailed as he clutched his side.
"You were annoying me, Kise-kun." Kuroko blankly said facial expression unchanging. Aomine just sweat dropped off to the side as Midorima and Akashi ignored it and Murasakibara was more focused on his snacks. "What are you all doing here?"
Akashi smiled in a cocky way. "Well, I'm glad you asked Te-chan." Akashi carefully phrased his words so as to not say Kuroko's actual first name. He knew the bluenette would be pissed if one of his co-workers found out his gender, especially one who looked prone to blabbing. The rest of Miracles held in the groan at that sentence though – it felt like déjà vu. They had all asked him the same question. "We are going to be replacing the inadequate actors that were to be in this drama with you. I hope you don't mind this at all." It didn't look like Akashi was going to change his mind so Kuroko immediately dropped that conversation. The others didn't however – seemed like this was the first time that they had heard this. Well, aside from Kise as he has a manager who controls his entire schedule. The moment everyone was about to complain, Akashi held up a hand. "I want to hear no complaints about working here or else you'll get quadruple the menu." Even Aomine looked white as a ghost and no one uttered a word for a moment – until the intensely loud screech from behind Kuroko sounded.
"Oh my god, you're just so perfect! Every single one of you! Everything one could hope for from a reverse harem! Wait here, I'll go get my writing materials and I want you all to answer the questions that I will ask you completely honestly!" With that all rushed and interrupted by fangirl movements, Kuraiya suddenly left and Mei followed so that she could help the over excited actress.
"Wait." Kuroko said, holding his hand out towards the door before dropping it and turning towards the other five men in the room and tilting his head curiously. "What is a 'reverse harem'?" The varying expressions he got for that question would amuse him after he finally found out what the real answer was. But for now, he would have to deal with the simultaneous answer he received from the five.
"It's absolutely nothing, Tetsuya." A blank and amused expression.
"Ku-Kuroko-chi! Don't ask me something like that!" A horrified and beet red one.
"Kuro-chin, would you like some vanilla candy?" An uncomfortable but unconcerned look.
"Tetsu, you don't want to know." An amusingly serious look and an interesting color on his face.
"Ku-Kuroko, y-you can ask s-someone else or lo-look it up on-online!" A book covered, beet red face as he shifted restlessly in his place.
Kuroko only needed to wonder why they were reacting this way.
…
Again, random name I made up – don't even know if it is a name! – and I have no clue what it could possibly mean… Just, the moment I typed 'popular actress and script writer' I thought of the name 'Kuraiya' (which I don't even think is a name in the first place) and decided to use it for her! There you go, background for the name! And no, there is no actress I'm basing her off of, completely OC…
In Japan, you usually say the person's name instead of 'you', 'him', or 'her'… it's actually kind of rude if you say 'you' to someone, 'kimi' and 'anata' (though one is considered slightly respectful) is an insult to the person if you know their name… For those of you who watch Loveless or D. Gray-man, most people react like Yuiko does to 'you' or Allen does to 'bean sprout' (or 'moyashi', either way), and yeah… really disrespectful ^.^' So, though it doesn't say because it would sound weird, Kise is actually saying 'Kuroko-chi' where it is saying 'him' or 'he' as are any other character that does this. Except with their respective versions of his name.
…
For those of you that do not know, a reverse harem is pretty much one girl (or guy, which is pretty cool when it's in anime and such and not just merely hinted at) who has a bunch of guys pining after her/him… Some prime examples would be Uta no Prince-sama!, Hiiro no Kakera (I think, I know it was something like that with a demon inside it and the main chick needed to be protected by lesser demons and whatnot… Didn't get past the third episode, I don't know much about it), Amnesia, and Ouran High School Host Club (though that's more hinted with an obvious love square in it… In which she chooses only one, not several)… Well, other than that, here's an omake! Or, that's what I would say if I remembered what in the hell I was going to make an omake about… I think it had something to do with Kise… I don't know, but I thought of it while I was typing the scene that Kuroko walked into and, as I was explaining a reverse harem, forgot about it...
If I remember, I'll put it in the next chapter… But for now, night night!
