Chapter 7

Feelings were becoming stronger and Troy had taken to sleeping on the sofa – after Gabriella had gone to sleep – which hadn't gone unnoticed by her, since when she woke in the morning he wouldn't be there.

She thought Troy was either avoiding her which he was or didn't feel comfortable sleeping in the same bed as her anymore because he didn't like her as a friend anymore. It was both but not for reasons she thought. For reasons she would never even imagine. Reasons like he was in love with her and he thought she would could never love him.

"Are you avoiding me?" asked Gabriella.

"No," answered Troy.

"You don't sleep in the bed anymore, you go out of your way to avoid me in the resort and I'm no longer on your service," answered Gabriella. "Have you got a new girlfriend you don't want to know about me?"

"No," answered Troy. "I haven't said anything to anyone about you not being on my service. I'm not comfortable sleeping in the same bed as you."

"Why?" asked Gabriella.

"BECAUSE I'M IN LOVE WITH YOU," shouted Troy.

And the silence that followed seemed to last a lifetime.
