Chloe was in her hospital bed, listening to one of Beca's new mixes. A few days after Beca woke, she told her she scheduled to get her nodes removed. Beca was worried, as any girlfriend would be, but supported her decision. The doctor told her she was forbidden to speak for twenty-four hours. Which Beca made a joke to Chloe about it being very hard for her not to be vocal, especially in bed. They gave Chloe the bed next to Beca's (which the two requested) so they weren't far apart. Beca asked for a whiteboard and marker for Chloe to write on, and it's how they would talk now.
Bella's are back in the finals! Main singer of the Footnotes was still in high school! Bellas rehearsals come Monday - 8am. -A
Chloe re-read the text several times, before she started bouncing up and down.
"Hey, hey, hey. What're you so happy about?" Beca asked. Soon, Chloe's smile fell, realizing Beca quit the Bellas. The blonde did apologize, but no one ever brought up Beca rejoining the Bellas. Plus, she was restricted from a lot of movement because of her accident. Chloe thought there would still be a possibility for Beca to be able to rejoin and perform, because it was only the beginning of March and the ICCA's weren't until June. The ginger handed Beca her phone to let her read the text.
"I knew that boy was still in high school! He didn't even sound like he's gone through puberty yet. Amy was ready to pitch slap him when he flirted with me in the side wing." Beca stated, Chloe trying her hardest not to laugh.
You're no help at keeping me quiet. Chloe writes on the whiteboard.
"When are you not quiet? You're a very vocal person. In MANY ways." Beca winked. Chloe's face turning red. You walked right into that one, dumbass. Chloe thinks.
"Well, you'll have your voice back by monday anyway, so it's not like you wouldn't be able to sing, everything will be fine." Beca says, looking at the girl.
But what about you? Chloe writes. "Well, what about me?" The brunette responds.
The Bellas. You know what I meant. The redhead wrote. "Babe, honestly. I don't know. I get mends are bonded with blondie now, but we'll see. I do miss the girls. You all are my first real friends, and I never really had friends that were girls growing up. So, I'm definitely not used to it. But I'll talk with Aubrey. Okay?"
Chloe nodded, staring up at the ceiling. Beca's phone vibrated, and the brunette saw 'Blonde-zilla' flash on her screen. She chuckles before picking up her phone, and reading the text.
Hey, I was wondering if we could talk soon? -A
Yeah, sure. But did you forget, I'm stuck on bed rest until monday? ;) -B
Crap, I forgot. Damnit Beca, you always have to do something reckless. Destruction of property led you to get arrested at Regionals. Then you get hit by a car at semi-finals? You can't stay out of trouble can you? -A
Hey! In my defense, both situations were to help others. Plus, I just realized I'm always in trouble at those acapella competitions. If I'd had known acapella would've been this much blood and sweat, I would've never joined. ;) -B
BUT if it weren't for my cardio, your toothpick legs would've never been fast enough to save that boy. -A
Are you implying that I thank you? -B
What else would I be implying? -A Beca rolls her eyes.
Shouldn't you be apologizing? -B
What? Why? -A
Because of your cardio, I got hit by a car. So, it's you're fault. ;) -B
Of course you'd turn the tables. So, is Chloe staying again with you tonight, or coming home? -ABeca forgot Chloe hadn't told anyone about the surgery. The girl lies to her blonde friend.
She's staying here tonight. And don't worry about stopping by, she already got her clothes and stuff. :) -B
Alright, well. When you get out of the hospital, we'll meet at the diner. I still plan to talk to you. Alright? -A
A talk? Don't you mean scold? -B
Do you want to stay in a hospital bed longer than planned? -A
Beca laughs. No, sorry for displeasing you, your highness. I'll see you soon. -B
Beca looks over to the side of her, and Chloe's face has a bit confusion in it. She writes on her board, Who was that?
"Your blonde friend. Nothing important." Beca shrugs. Chloe blows it off nonchalantly. Beca moves to stand, but Chloe gives her a warning look. Beca gives her a whiny/annoyed look.
"Babe, I can walk." Beca stands, but soon falls straight to the floor. Chloe jumps up from the bed, disconnecting her chords from her chest and arms. The machine that was connected to Chloe from the chords started to beep. A male nurse runs in, and helps the two off the floor. He puts Beca back in her bed, and attaches the wires back to Chloe. But she moves to lay next to Beca on her bed, no nurse didn't mind.
Beca became silent, staring of into space. Chloe grabs her board off the table, and writes.
What's wrong, baby? Chloe slides onto Beca's lap, as if it were sneaking a note in a middle school class. Beca looks down and a small smile plays on her lips. Beca doesn't talk, though. She grabs a marker, and writes back, hiding it from the redhead as she writes.
I hate it here. Let's go to neverland. Chloe smiles when she reads it, and soon Beca slides her laptop onto her lap. The girl bought Peter Pan and Chloe couldn't wipe the smile off her face. Beca wrapped her arm around Chloe, but Chloe tensed up, writing to the girl that she doesn't want to hurt her.
"I haven't cuddled with my beautiful girlfriend for what feels like an eternity. This is everything I need right now. You're all I need." Beca says. Chloe knows the girl isn't the most sentimental person, and it's hard for her to say what she feels. Especially with the events that unraveled in the pasty few days. Chloe just smiled, cuddling into the crook of Beca's neck. The girl played the movie.
And hour later, an intern nurse came into the girl's room, and saw the girls cuddling. She was in awe, two other nurses came in to see why her check up was taking so long. One of the nurses moved to take the laptop off of Beca's lap, when the girl came to realization at who they were.
"Guys, guys." "What? Lower your voice." "That's D-Dj B-47. Bec-ca Mitchell. And Chloe B-beale." One girl drops her clip board, and their jaws drop and eyes go wide. One of the interns takes out her phone and snaps a few pictures of them.
"What are you doing?! We're gonna get in trouble!" The male intern whispers.
"Don't worry, it's not like anyone will know who it's from." The girl winks.
Two days later, Beca's phone goes off.
"Who's that?" Chloe says.
"Aubrey?" Beca picks up the phone.
"Beca, what's this picture of you and Chloe in the magazines?" "What? What magazine?"
"It just came out today. You two are the front page. And it's titled, Couple or Cripple." Aubrey says, Beca laughed a little.
"What the fuck, that's actually a really creative title. But, Bree, I don't care about what magazines say about me in articles or online. It's why I don't check it."
Aubrey sighed, "Alright, but are you going to tell me the real reason why Chloe is staying in the hospital?" That question made Beca silent. Beca immediately grabbed her computer and searched up her and Chloe. The internet was filled with a candid photo of her and Chloe sleeping. Beca became furious.
"Can I speak to Chloe?" Beca sighs, handing Chloe the phone as she reads over the articles.
Couple or Cripple?
Since the accident where recording artist, Beca Mitchell aka DJ B-47 nearly put her life endanger to save a boy's life, she was last scene in this photo by anonymous two nights ago, where the young DJ is cuddled up with her gorgeous girlfriend, Chloe Beale. This is one of the first moments Beca ever opens about her private life, showing how committed she is to this relationship with the redhead. The two girls are very open to their fans about their relationship, and so far these past two days, many fans have been asking both girls on every and ANY social media site this: what happened to Chloe? Everyone is well aware of Mitchell in the car accident, but thanks to every 'bechloe' fan pointing out details, we've noticed BOTH girls in wires and hospital gowns in this recent photo. Is there something you're not telling us?
Paparazzi have been trying their hardest to get access into the hospital, but security has doubled ever since the Mitchell accident. Not only for paparazzi purposes, but several visitors and patients entering and leaving this hospital have seen homophobic citizens picketing several times outside the hospital. As well as fans who all have been asked to vacate the area. In hopes of, -
Beca closed the article. Very annoyed and furious. She looked over to her girlfriend who was just ending her call, Chloe gave her the phone back. And Beca immediately called her assistant.
"Beca! Wow, this is a surprise. How's colle-"
"Hey, no time for small talk. Sorry, we can meet up for lunch sometime, but right now it's kinda important."
"Okay, lay it on me."
"Couple or Cripple. That pissed me off. Did you see?"
"No, but I'll get the staff right on it, if you need me to. Anything else?" The boy says.
"I'm gonna need a ride home, back to Barden I mean. I'm not staying in this hospital any longer. Chloe's coming with me as well." Beca says.
"But, aren't you on bedres-" "Screw the god damn bed rest! I don't care if it was a staff member or fan, I feel very... uncomfortable here. No person here has the right to have taken that photo. And I feel they overstepped my personal boundaries." Beca says, getting off her bed. The girl unclips the wires.
"What are you doing?!" Chloe says, helping Beca walk.
"We're getting out of here. C'mon, Chlo. I'll call you back."
"Alright, the car is on its way."
Beca ended the call grabbing her stuff. Chloe disconnected her wires from her body, and both machines connected to the two were beeping. Nurses came in within seconds. Chloe sat Beca in a wheel chair, but their exit was blocked by nurses.
"I'm sorry, we can't let you go, ma'am." A nurse says.
"I have my rights." Beca bites back. They push through the crowd, but Beca's surgeon bumps into them.
"Ms. Mitchell? You two aren't scheduled to leave this hospital for several more days." The man says.
"I'm sorry, thing's went a little off track. I will come back weekly if you need me to, but I can't stay here. Both of us can't. There were some problems, and I hate to make this a bigger problem than it is, but we're here for our well-being. Not for people to come in while we're sleeping and take photos of us." Beca says.
The man is taken back, "I can assure you all of our doctors are very professional when it comes to their work. We would never purposely do anything to affect your well-being in a negative way. If there's something I can do..." He trails off.
"Thank you, but all I ask is for my girlfriend and my bill for our entire time at this hospital to be sent to me, pronto. But other than that, thank you for everything. I'd suggest you take a look at the video cameras in our room, but it isn't necessary. We can't undo the past, so.." Beca trails off with a small smile, and the man nods, waving goodbye as they leave.
They exit the hospital to find several paparazzi, and Jesse waiting outside with Beca's black chevrolet suburban. Beca laughed, and Chloe wheeled her to the car. The brunette looked to the side of her and saw almost a dozen people with picket signs that say 'Gay Is A Sin' or 'Normal love = boy+girl'. They blended in with some fans and paparazzi for Chloe to notice. Jesse helped put their belongings (and Beca) into the car. Chloe and Jesse got in, Chloe sitting next to her girlfriend in the very back seats.
"And what's the reason why I got called to pick you up unexpectedly?" Jesse smirks.
"Problems with the hospital." Beca says.
"Care to explain," Chloe adds.
Beca sighs, "Someone went into our room while we were sleeping and took photos of us, it's now in several magazines. It said that these past few days homophobic people are picketing outside the hospital. They still are, I saw them as we were leaving. And it pisses me off that people can't respect our privacy. I'm just getting really annoyed. I know, I'm pretty much overreacting, but-"
"Hey, it's fine. Aubrey didn't even go into detail to me about anything on our call. You're not overreacting, babe. It's not our fault. Don't worry, we'll be fine." Chloe says. Jesse turns the radio on but barely audible. Beca stares out at the window, as they drive back to Barden in silence.
A/N: Very uninteresting chapter. To make up for it. In the reviews, tell me what you want to happen in the next chapters. I will write whatever fits in with the story. I promise! Love you guys! And seriously, tell me what you think'll happen!
