A/N: I'm planning to end this fanfic soon and start for a different story. Something better that I've been contemplating on writing. I posted it today too, so please check it out and tell me what you think!
Chloe was driving in Beca's suburban, on the way to dinner with Beca's family. She had known about these monthly dinners, but never brought them up because it was none of her business. Chloe could tell the brunette was nervous, she was fidgeting in her seat, and kept sighing. Chloe rolled her eyes and placed her hand on Beca's thigh. Beca jumped at the unexpected contact.
"Stop. Nothing bad's going to happen." Chloe says, not taking her eyes off the road.
"You don't know that." Beca states, running her hand through her hair. She intertwines her other hand with Chloe's, stroking it with her thumb.
"I'm sorry. I'm just nervous." Beca says.
"Well don't be. I'm right here the entire time, and the only person that can make me leave this spot is you." Chloe says, and the brunette becomes a little confused. "What do you mean?" She asks.
"There will be a ton of people that'll try to tear us apart. You know that, but I don't care who tries because our love is- it's...titanium. I know now that if you weren't happy and wanted to leave our relationship, of course I'd do everything I could for you to think otherwise. But if your final answer is to leave, then so be it. I want to give you nothing but happiness. Even if that means sacrificing mine." Chloe sighs. Beca sits there: stunned and speechless.
They get to the house in a short period of time, and as they pull up, Beca's dad, wife, and son comes out. The seven year old boy is the first to wrap his small arms around the girl.
"Beca! Finally! What took you so long!?" The boy says. Beca chuckles, "Sorry, buddy. Traffic sucks. Anyway, I want to introduce you to someone." Beca states, pointing toward Chloe.
Chloe goes down on one knee, "Hi sweetie. I'm Chloe, and you are?" "I'm Noah. You're the princess?" He asks Chloe, confusing the girl.
"Hey, bud. That conversation stays between us, remember?" "Oh, right!" He says before physically locking his lips with an imaginary key. Chloe giggles and they make their way to Warren and Sheila.
"I'm Chloe." Is ally the redhead says, but Beca adds to it. "My girlfriend. Sheila, Dad. This is my girlfriend, Chloe." Beca states with a proud look on her face. The couple becomes a little eye wide.
Sheila composes herself, offering to shake Chloe's hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you Chloe, I wish for once you'd tell us about her, Beca." Sheila kids around making Beca laugh uncomfortably.
"And you're just now telling me this?" Warren mutters. "What?" Beca asks.
"You didn't tell me you had a girlfriend. Let alone tell me you were gay!" He bitterly states. Noah steps back in shock a little, hiding behind Chloe. "Warren!" Sheila says.
"No, are you serious right now Beca? Please tell me this is just some sick joke you're trying to play on me." He says rubbing his temple.
"I'm not playing around. I'm being serious, I thought it was time I acted like an ADULT and open up to both of you about my love life. Yet, for some reason, I feel like the only adult in this conversation-"
"You're not gay. I taught you be-" "You were never there. When could you have possibly taught me anything when you were never there? Huh!" Beca says, pulling away from Chloe a little. Her knuckles become white.
"Get out."
"No." Everyone suddenly hears Noah's high voice. "Please don't go." He calls out.
"You can never be a good child, you know that? You always had to rebel somehow. You see that this past year I've been trying my best to do what I can for us to have a relationship. But here you go again. It's always your fault. You were ne-"
Beca cuts him off. "No that's where you're wrong. You put all these expectations on me and then when reality hits, it's always my fucking fault. Did you ever think about our relationship being the way it is now because of what YOU did? No, because you're too fucking busy blaming it on me! I'm tired of your shit. I don't need you in my life. I got through my whole childhood without you, and I'm able to do it all over again. You shouldn't judge me, cause you barely even know me. You didn't even fucking call when I was in the hospital. Not once did you bother asking about why I'm in these casts ever since I've gotten here. You don't care! And I'm perfectly fine without you." Beca says, looking her father dead in the eyes.
"How fucking dare you say this shit to me. I'm your fucking fath-" "No! You're not my father. You might have helped me be born into this world, but you were never there for me. You have no right to call yourself MY father, since you were never the father figure. You're only a stranger. And that's all you'll ever be." Beca turns away and takes Chloe's hand walking back to the car.
"Fine, I'm done pleasing you. Go ahead fuck your good for nothing girlfriend. You're not helping yourself in any way with being with that dyke! She doesn't even deserve you anyway!" Beca completely froze. Suddenly, she launched her fist at him, hitting his jaw. Everyone was shocked.
"You have no right to ever insult my girlfriend. If you do, I'll make you fucking blind." She spats. Chloe rushes Beca to the car now, and they drove in silence.
Twenty minutes pass and unexpectedly, Chloe pulls off to the side of the road and steps out of her car. She squatted to the ground, her head in between her knees, and her fingers laced in her hair. Beca immediately runs out, taking her place next to Chloe.
"I'm- I'm sorry. I- I- I-" Chloe says in between sobs. Beca cups the girl's face, forcing her to look into her eyes.
"Chlo- Chloe. Listen to me. Breathe. C'mon." Beca inhales and exhales slowly, Chloe repeating her actions as best as she can without gasping quickly.
"I'm sorry." Chloe states again, a little quieter this time. Her cries aren't as consistent. A minor gasp here and there.
"Why are you sorry?" Beca strokes her cheek with her thumb.
"Eve-everything that happened b-back there. It's my f-fault. If I hadn't shown, none of this would've happened. I don't deserve you, like he said. He's ri-" Beca cut her off with a kiss.
"Don't you dare finish that sentence, Chloe Beale. You deserve SO MUCH more, if anything. I don't ever want you to believe any of the bullshit that comes out of his mouth." Beca kisses her forehead.
"People growing up- never really accepted me. I had maybe one boyfriend or girlfriend in the past, but the parents never liked me cause I'm gay or something. Eventually...everyone just left. I would never tell my mom about my relationships, cause they all leave. Everyone was never committed. And you're the first for them to know about." Beca pulls her up off the ground and Chloe immediately wraps her arms around her neck, crying into her shoulder.
"Please don't leave me." Chloe cries into the girl's neck.
"Never, I swear."
I'm sorry this chapter was so unbelievably short! But I'm losing interest in my own writing for this book. I'm sorry. I promise, I WILL finish it, and you will get your last chapter soon, but school's coming up for me in a week or two, and everything's been busy. But I hope you like my new fanfic called 'Seeing Past My Walls.'
