A/N: I honestly apologize for the extremely long update. I recently had several panic attacks and a seizure due to stress and school is hectic, but please be patient with me. I will not discontinue any story until there is an ending! :)
A week has past since the incident at the family dinner. Chloe and Aubrey are sitting in the living room, waiting for Jesse and Beca to arrive back from the hospital from her check up.
"Stop that." Aubrey breaks the silence. Chloe blinks repeatedly, "Huh? I- I'm sorry, what were you saying?"
"You're over-thinking. I can tell. Stop that." Aubrey deadpans. Chloe rolls her eyes. "You're a weirdo." The redhead states.
"Says the girl who barges into someone's shower-" "Who is my girlfriend now! So that's now a big deal." Chloe defends herself. Aubrey chuckles, "Yeah, 'not a big deal' my ass."
Beca is wheeled through the door by the brunette boy. "We're back!" Jesse states. "And we brought pizza! Hawaiian, I might add." Beca winks to Chloe. Jesse sets the pizza on the island, and Chloe makes her way to her girlfriend. "Hey." She gives Beca a small kiss on the lips.
"Well, hi." Beca smiles. "How was the check up?" "Same. As usual. Lame, and it will always stay that way." Chloe laughs. Beca stands slowly from her wheelchair, leaning onto Chloe for support. "Let's go to my room, I wanna talk to you." Beca whispers. Chloe nods, helping the girl walk.
As they enter the room, they sit on the bed. Beca looks up into Chloe's piercing blue eyes, and presses her lips to the redheads, cupping her face. The kiss becomes a little more heated, until Beca pulls away.
"Okay, wait. I still need to talk to you." Beca chuckles slightly. "I'm all ears." The brunette sighs, "I'm sorry. I know I've said this a thousand times, but I'll say it a thousand and one. I overreacted at that stupid dinner, but if I would've just been...good, that would've never happened. I hurt you and that's the last thing I want to do." Beca says.
Chloe takes in the words for a few seconds, processing the actual situation. "Becs, it wasn't your fault. You didn't hurt me, and you know that. I don't want you to take the blame for something like that. His words doesn't make me not love you. It doesn't change my feelings for you. Nothing. The only thing that would change is if you left me. I don't know what I'd do." Chloe half-smiled. Beca pulls a strand behind Chloe's ear.
"I'd never leave you. That'd be the biggest mistake I could ever make in my life. And I don't think I have the willpower to leave you. Those people who left you in the past, I'm glad they left. Because if they didn't, I wouldn't have you. And I'm eternally grateful for that. Which is why I was wondering if you wanted to go somewhere with me." Beca states.
"W-where?"
"I want you to meet my mom." Beca states quietly, with a long silence trailing behind. Chloe's expression is unreadable, which worries the brunette.
"Listen, you don't have to if you don't want to. I just-" Beca's statement was cut off by Chloe's soft lips pressing against hers. After several seconds, Chloe pulls away only to pull the girl in a bone-crushing hug.
"I love you." The redhead whispers.
Beca smiles to herself, not letting go of the redhead. "I love you too."
"Where is she- i-is that her?" "No! Beca is brunette, dear remember?" "Huh? Oh! Right right." "Let's just...let's hold the sign up. We'll see them eventually." Beca's grandfather says. The brunette's grandparents are at the airport, waiting for Beca and Chloe's arrival.
The couple was only staying for the weekend, but it's better than nothing. Beca's grandfather, Jack, grabs hold of the small sign that him and his wife made: DJ & Ginger

"Is that them?" Chloe states, pointing to a small elderly couple with a sign of Cripple & Ginger. Beca grows a smile instantly.
"That's them alright." Beca intertwines her fingers with Chloe's, leading her through the crowd. Jack engulfs Beca in a hug instantly.
"I thought you were kidding when you said you got hit by a car!" He laughs. "I thought you were kidding when you said you'd write a sign that says 'Cripple and Ginger' but I guess we both assumed wrong." Beca winks. The two share a laugh.
"Okay, Grandpa Jack, Gramma L, this is Chloe, my beautiful girlfriend. Chloe this is Jack and Lauren. Or Grandpa Jack, and Gramma L." Beca smiles. Chloe extends her hand out, only to get a disgusted look from the man.
He scoffs, "I thought you said she was a hugger! What else have you been lying about?" He jokes, engulfing Chloe into a hug. Chloe doesn't hesitate to hug back. At first, she was very cautious, and Beca knew that. But it was only because of the last argument with her father, Chloe is always nervous with first impressions, mainly around family members or something that has to do with her significant other.
The man pulls back and smiles at her, his wife gives Chloe a hug as well. "You're definitely taller than her, that's for sure." Lauren jokes, making everyone but Beca laugh.
After the short drive, they enter the quaint home. Jack starts off, "Alright, if you two need anything, just say the word. Food, water, tampons-"
"Grandpa!" Beca screeches making the man laugh. "Oh, don't be embarrassed! I grew up around women, wouldn't you think I came prepared?"
Chloe giggles, making the brunette smile. Beca shows her up their room. They enter the guest room, cds' and vinyls' stacked the desk, next to several boxes of Beca's old clothes. Chloe sets her bag down and moves to the vinyls. She pulls a strand of hair behind her ear and smiles as she looks through the brunette's hidden collection.
"And I thought you had alot at your dorm. Damn, babe." Chloe states making Beca laugh. The brunette heads behind Chloe, pressing her front to the redhead's back. Chloe leans back into her girlfriend's embrace.
Soon they hear a shout from Jack, "C'mon back down girls! There's a place we wanna take you out for lunch!" Chloe looks at Beca, "Your grandma doesn't talk much, does she?"
"She's shy, as you can tell." Beca chuckles, "Let's go."
x-x-x
"Soooo...where are we eating out?" Beca states in the car, breaking the silence.
"You'll see." Grandpa Jack smirks.
15 minutes later, he pulls up to a small unfamiliar cafe. "Is this new?" Beca asks, as they leave the car. "Yeah, and very hidden." He replies. They enter the cafe, but Beca is greeted with a group yelling surprise.
The young brunette jumps, embarrassed for a moment before realizing who the group was. In the room stood Jesse and his family, as well as Aubrey and her Aunt. Beca was shocked and confused.
"Wha- wait- what? Why are you- Why's everyone- WHAT IS GOING ON?" Beca states, making everyone laugh. Chloe comes up to reach for Beca's hand and says, "You've done so much for me. I wanted to do this for you." Beca turns around, looking at the red head.
"This was all you?" Before Chloe can answer, "All her, kiddo. She's a keeper. Don't let her go." Jesse's dad states. Beca smiles, hugging her girlfriend and giving her a kiss.
It isn't too long after Beca properly introduces everyone to Chloe. "Chlo, that's Mr. and Mrs. Swanson. Then there's my Aunt Kelley, I honestly don't know how you even contacted her, or managed to gather everyone here, but know that I'm expecting an explanation soon." Beca purses her lips.
Chloe giggles, "I'll explain later, but for now. Enjoy yourself."
After the surprise party, they headed back to Beca's grandparent's house.
"I can't thank you enough for everything you've done for me. I don't think this trip could get any better." Beca whispers to Chloe. "You do realize you brought me on this trip right?" Beca rolls her eyes, "You know what I meant."
When they got home, Beca's grandparents gave the couple privacy for the rest of the evening. Beca laid on the bed leaning on her side as she watched Chloe change for bed.
"You know, you never told me how you got them to come?" Beca states, breaking the silence. Chloe throws her shirt over her head. "Well, before the night of our flight, I talked to Jesse and Aubrey about throwing this little gathering. So Jesse called up his parents and everyone and we all managed to get on board. So now that I'm saying it, it's really all Jesse's doing." Chloe lays on the bed.
"That's bull. Jesse just has sources, you had the idea. There's a difference." Beca watches the redhead for a few seconds.
"Babe, you know I haven't had the best experiences when it came to love. But you pulled through. And it's gonna take a miracle for me to actually repay you, but for now, all I can give you is me."
"That's all I want." Beca states kissing the girl. Chloe cups Beca's face. "How did I get so lucky?" The brunette mumbles into the kiss. Chloe giggles, resting her forehead onto her girlfriend's.
"It makes me laugh to see your badass front to society, but when it's only the two of us..." Chloe trails off. Beca looks at her with an unsettled expression.
"What?" "...If only they knew how much of a romantic you are." Chloe giggles. "Hey! That's our little secret, alright? Am I really that bad?" Beca asks.
"No, I love that you show me a side of you that no one else gets to see. It makes me feel special." Chloe smiles, pressing her ear against Beca's chest to hear her heart beat.
"You are special."
"Are you sure you wanna do this?" Chloe warns in the passenger seat of the car. Beca is staring straight ahead, over dosing in her thoughts.
The two were about to take a drive to Beca's mother. Chloe was scared for this to happen, willing to back out at any moment. Beca stared at the street with both hands on the wheel. The girl inhaled slowly, and exhaled several times before processing what was actually happening.
"I wanna do this." Beca finally states. She looks to the ginger who has an unsettled look playing on her face. Chloe touches Beca's thigh, making the brunette jump a little. "Becs, relax. It's just me." Beca sighs, looking down at her lap. Chloe runs her hand through her red locks, "Listen, I know this is a big deal. I don't wanna force you to do anything you don't want to. We really don't have to-"
"No, no." Beca cut her girlfriend off. "I meant it when I asked you to come with me, and I mean it now. I want you to meet my mom. I just- This is new. I've never done this before, so of course I'm nervous."
Chloe smiled, she leaned over and kissed the girl's cheek. Beca shifts her face and kisses Chloe's lips making the redhead giggle. Beca became less tense. When the two pulled apart, "You do know you're meeting my parents soon too, right?"
"Are you giving me the opportunity to run?" Chloe slapped the girl's arm, earning an overdramatic 'ow'. The two drove off to the graveyard.
When they got of the car, Beca became uncomfortable again. And Chloe was able to read her like a book. Beca intertwined their fingers, but as they walked, her grip became to tight causing Chloe to whimper. Beca immediately let go of Chloe's hand.
"I'm so sorry, I- I didn't mean to-" "It's fine, Becs. I know. You're scared." Chloe half smiles. "I'm not scared. I'm nervous."
"Is there a difference?" "Nervous means I want you to meet my mom, I want you to be here with me. Scared means I'm going to regret what I'm doing now in the future. But I don't regret any second. Well, except for the crushing your hand part." Beca looks at her feet.
Chloe giggles, kissing the girl's cheek. "I'm fine. Now c'mon, daylight's wasting." Chloe intertwined their fingers again. They walked up to the grave stone that read:
In memory of
Katherine Day
1961 - 2003
Love and Remembered Always
"Chlo, this is my mom. Katherine Day. But people called her Kathy." Beca plays a sad smile.
Chloe looks to the brunette, "Your name is Rebeca Day?" "Well- yeah. But Mitchell stayed when my parents divorced, it was pointless to get a name change when all my records had Beca Mitchell." Beca shrugged.
"Either suits you." Chloe states before paying her attention to Beca's mother. She leaves a rose on the grave, "Hi, Ms. Day. I'm Chloe. I hope you don't mind that I'm dating your daughter, she's amazing I should add. She's a big part of my life and I would've never thought I'd be as lucky as I am right now, and I am truly grateful. So, thank you. I know you're watching down on Beca, and so far, if you've been watching, she can't seem to get herself out of trouble. Explains the cast." Chloe jokes, earning a chuckle from Beca. "Even though I've never met you, I know you are an amazing woman, and from how Beca talks about you, you never deserved to leave us. To leave her. So, if you're listening, know that I'm here for your daughter and I always will be. I will never give up on her. Because she's the reason I haven't given up."
Silence takes over, and the two stand there. Beca pulls Chloe into a hug, and Chloe hears the girl choke back a sob. "Shhh, what's wrong? Did I say something?"
Beca wipes her face, pulling away from Chloe to look into her blue orbs. "No, no not at all. I just- I miss her you know? How can I not? And I've felt alone for so long, then you show up and change everything. I can't thank you enough. I love you."
"I love you too." Chloe pulls Beca closer. "It's funny, my mom was a very emotional person just like me. I just try not to show it. She cried for everything, the first time I walked. The first time I talked. The first time I used the bathroom on my own. Everything. But she just had a big heart."
"Just like you." Chloe smiles. Suddenly, the two feel it start to rain. They look up and look at eachother, and break into a smile.
"Looks like someone's crying with you." Chloe states, making Beca smile. Beca and Chloe bid their farewells before rushing to the car to return home.
"Chlo?" Beca says as they buckle up. "Yeah, babe." The brunette presses her lips to the redhead's. "Thank you."
