Chapter 6
Troy had broken up with Julia just days after she had made an appearance at his house and within days she was splashed all over the papers with her new boyfriend – her co star.
Today was the day Gabriella's mother had passed away two years ago. Apart from coming out to cook breakfast and lunch Gabriella had no emerged for her room.
The boys could hear sobs from her room but no one dared go near. For the past week they had been teasing Troy about holding Gabriella's hand.
With a groan Troy unfolded his legs from off the couch and stood up.
"I'm going to go check on her," he said.
"You so have it bad," teased Chad.
"Chad today is not the time," answered Troy, as he headed up the stairs.
"Gabs," he whispered, as he pushed open the door to her room.
The sobs that had been muted by the closed door were now louder.
"It was today Troy," she sobbed.
It took Troy a minute to realize what she was referring to but within seconds she realized and he went to lay by her side and hug her.
He knew he could do nothing for her pain but he could be there for her, hold her. He couldn't turn back time, be there for her when it happened or stop her mother from getting cancer.
In this moment, this day he could be there for her and that was what he did.
