I'm sooooooo very sorry I keep doing this! I'd promise this won't happen again but I'd most likely be lying through my teeth. I hope you like this chapter - it was very fun to write!

Anna had visited Hans four times in the two days he had been in the dungeons – the third was no different. Usually, they would talk about Elsa – Anna wanted to know every single thing that happened about her sister while she was held captive – but he could tell today was different. It was the official first day of winter; supposed to be a day of great celebration to honor the Ice Queen and the season that blessed her with magic, but instead, it was a day of mourning for the people to say goodbye to their ruler one last time before a private burial. It was early in the morning and Hans was half expecting her when the heavy wooden door unlocked and the young princess stepped through. She held in her hands formal clothes bearing the Arendelle crest.

"What are those for?" he asked cautiously, not wanting to set her off into a grief-stricken frenzy. He wanted to be as respectful towards Anna as possible – not just for her, but for Elsa.

"I don't want you saying goodbye to my sister looking like a peasant," her voice was surprisingly stable and her eyes were clear. Hans only nodded, caught off-guard by her relaxed demeanor and her use of the words "saying goodbye to my sister". He took the clothes without saying a word and he could sense Anna's growing frustration.

"What?" she snapped, "Why are you acting like this?! You're getting everything you wanted! I'm giving you a chance to say goodbye to the woman you supposedly love and you're going to get away with every criminal thing you've done! I don't get you! You go from charming to Satan to… what? What are you trying to make me think about you? You tell me because I really don't know anymore. I liked you better when you were trying to kill me because at least then you were telling the truth! Now I'm just… UGH! I don't want to pity you! You don't deserve pity! I hate you! You ruined my life and you took my sister from me but you still make me pity you!" By the time she was done, Hans was just chuckling at her. Anna threw her arms in the air in exasperation.

"WHAT!?"

"You look exactly like Elsa when you yell like that," he laughed, and just for a second he could have sworn that she smiled lightly. But it was only for a brief second before she glared at him and headed for the door.

"Just get dressed God damn you," she huffed, "The Queen of Arendelle is waiting."

"Papa?"

"My little Snowflake, I've missed you so."

"I failed you Father. You told me to take care of Anna and I didn't. I caused her so much pain."

"No, my darling. You have not failed me. I am so very proud of you. Now come with me – you have a decision to make."

"About what?"

"It is not your time my daughter. Your journey has not been completed and your path not fully discovered."

"No Papa, I want to stay with you! I've missed you so much!"

"It is your choice, Snowflake. Choose wisely. The spirit of Winter cannot die."

A coffin made of ice sat elegantly on the castle balcony. Laying atop it was Elsa in all her fragile beauty – her platinum hair a pillow for her head and her skin a ghostly pale. She looked like a Goddess, a fallen angel that was not made for this world – was destroyed for her perfection in a world so full of faults.

Anna, Kristoff, Rapunzel and Flynn all stood before the queen. The building crowd in the castle courtyard bowed their heads to show their reverence. An eerie silence spread over the area as Hans was escorted to the balcony by two guards. His wrists were bound in shackles and the clothes Anna brought him were slightly crumpled. He was met with glares from Kristoff, Flynn and Rapunzel but a slight nod from Anna. Funny how after everything he had done to her and Elsa, she still found it in her heart for humanity. Hans cast his eyes upon Elsa, regretting it immediately. He had not seen her face since she had died – since he covered her body out of respect. He felt tears burn the back of his eyes as he turned his head sharply.

Anna clung to Kristoff like a wet rag as she sobbed softly into his chest. The young princess hesitantly stepped forward, away from the protective arms of her fiancé. A few tears slipped down her face as she opened her mouth to speak.

"People of Arendelle, it is with great sadness that I officially announce the death of Queen Elsa," she paused momentarily, sucking in a ragged breath, "My sister… was murdered in cold blood by King Viktor of the Southern Isles, who was later killed by anti-Westergard rebels. I would be lying if I said his death was not… justified," her voice cracked on the last word and she sunk down to the marble floor, sobbing. She felt a hand on her shoulder, and from the rattle of metal she knew who it was.

"You can do this," Hans whispered to her, "She always believed you could." Anna was just about to stand she felt a cold wind sting her tear streaked face. A single snowflake fell into Anna's open hands and a broken smile tugged at her lips. Both Hans and Kristoff helped her to her feet before gasps filled the air.

A snow flurry had formed just above Elsa's body, with snowflakes falling and being absorbed into her skin. Clouds covered the once bright sky, blocking the sun's shining rays. The sky flashed bright greens, blues, pinks and purples all striking down on Elsa like lightening. The wind howled like what sounded like words.

"The spirit of Winter cannot die."

And as quickly as it happened, it stopped with no evidence of it ever occurring. The light hum of people talking could be heard from the courtyard, as Anna looked at everyone on the balcony. They were all speechless before a sharp gasp escaped from Rapunzel's lips.

"Anna… look," her cousin whispered shakily. Anna turned around to see Elsa sitting on the intricately carved block of ice she was lying dead on moments before. The Queen grimaced as she rubbed her hand against her head drowsily. Anna let out an excited squeal causing Elsa to look up.

"Anna?" the queen breathed, before being slammed into by her sister's tight embrace.

"You were dead," Anna sobbed into her sister's shoulder, "I lost you Elsa. You were gone." Elsa tightened her grip on Anna, finally registering the situation. Anna. The dungeon. Heidi. The guards. Hans. Everything came flooding back to her all at once. She was suddenly over whelmed, pulling away from Anna as the crowd erupted in cheers. Elsa tried hopping down off of her ice bed but her legs failed her. She might have landed flat on her face if not for someone grasping a hold of her arm and helping her stand. She turned her gaze away from Anna to see Hans keeping her from falling over. His emerald green eyes were wide and bloodshot, and his breathing was ragged.

"You kept your promise," Elsa smiled as tears formed in hey crystalline eyes, "You brought me home."
