DLaO 5: Who's Next?

Footsteps paced through the room, resounding throughout the hallways. Crystal tilted her head up to look at the doorway. Serena and Calem entered the room with a downcast look.

"Calem, did Ruby and... S-Sapphire..." Yellow asked softly. Crystal however did not make a move to comfort her. She knew Yellow could be an absolute demon when she wants to.

"Sadly. They have both been rendered unavailable." Serena said, though the emotion was devoid in her voice. Everyone knew she was distraught to lose someone so early on.

"Who's up next?" Lavender asked, everyone froze at the tone of her voice. Angry, calm, sadistic. All at the same time.

"I volunteer SSG!~"

Crystal ignored the burning urge to kick Gold in the face, and stood up. "I do not mind if it is my duty."

"Subsequently," Silver said, "By volunteering Crystal here, Gold, you have volunteered yourself because you two are partners."

Gold put on an innocent face, "Really? I didn't know, whoopsie~"

Almost everyone in the room facepalmed.

"I have a suggestion~" Blue chimed, "Instead of checking out Life, how about we see how Destruction is doing?"

Calem looked up thoughtfully, "That may not actually be a bad idea..."

"Take the utmost precaution, because supposedly all of Destruction had 'disappeared'." Serena looked at Gold with a venomous glare, "Do. You. Understand?"

Gold sweated slightly, "Yes ma'am!"

In the heat of their discussion, no one noticed Lavender staring from the side.

She grinned.

"Let the show begin."

Standing at Cyllage Ville, all Crystal could do was wonder. The Ville itself has been left in pristine condition, but the civilization had vanished.

"Makes ya wanna curl up under your sweet blanket huh?" Gold commented.

"You stole my blanket, all I have to use is the floor." Crystal hissed.

Gold raised up his hands in defense, "I apologize, your lack of kindness makes me forget you're a lady."

Crystal knocked Gold unconscious before dragging him along to investigate the Ville.

Cyan tapped the window glass as raindrops fell against the clear surface. Rain clouds blocked the sun from view.

'It's another dreary day...' He thought gloomily.

He realized his thought and rephrased it in his mind, 'This day is not worthy for my rule.'

It made no sense whatsoever.

A knock on his door brought him back to reality, "Yes?"

"It is me, Malva, sir."

"Enter." Cyan spoke calmly. Irritation was expertly hidden from his voice.

"Olympia has successfully captured two Elite Officers of Life and Destruction. What shall we do with them?" Malva asked.

Cyan's eyes glanced out the window one last time before standing up.

"I shall have a word with them."

"And stay in here!" A guard yelled before shoving Ruby and Sapphire into two separate jail cells.

"The Prince shall decide your fate," the guard sneered and walked away.

The two stayed silent for a moment to process what just happened.

"They have a psychic." Ruby stated.

"They destroyed Anistar Ville." Sapphire said.

"I cracked the ground with my mind." Ruby said, Sapphire would have done a spit take had she had any water.

"Say whhaaaaatttt?!"

They remained silent for a few minutes more before footsteps could be heard clanging on the stone floor.

As Cyan emerged from the shadows and stepped out into the dimly lit room Sapphire growled.

"No need to be so hostile." Cyan smirked, he seemed to be thoroughly enjoying the superiority.

"What do you wish to gain from all this?!" Ruby yelled.

"Me? Oh silly, I'm doing this for the future sake of Kalos."

"Are you going to kill us?" Sapphire asked, there was no fear evident in her voice.

"No... At the moment." Cyan laughed, "I wonder how your precious Serena would react if you die in front of her."

Sapphire lunged forward at grabbed the bars, "There is no way in hell are you going to kill me!"

Cyan flashed an innocent smile, "What are you ever going to do about it?"

Sapphire glared at Cyan while Ruby was silent, 'Cyan seems to be taking pleasure in this.' He scowled.

'We'll show him.'

When Gold finally regained consciousness, Crystal had dragged him to the top of the cliff.

"Are you sure you're a woman?-"

"Yes! I am fully sure!" Crystal scowled.

"I'm not convinced, mind if I che-"

"Do you want to die?" The twin-tailed blunette threatened.

Gold fell silent before looking over the edge.

"Not so much."

At the top of the cliff, the two could barely make out the rocks of Geosenge Village. The Ville below them seemed so small all of a sudden.

"Hey, I have a question."

Crystal raised her eyebrow, "What is it?"

"How much is this situation affecting you?" Gold asked. Instead of the immaturity present a moment ago, his voice was serious.

"Define, 'situation'." Crystal glared.

"You working with me, the Order taking over, basically everything that's not supposed to happen."

Crystal looked towards the direction of Lumiose Fields.

"I don't like it." She sighed, "It's too much of a change. Also, from here I think we can see what is happening to the Destruction from here."

Gold remained silent, he seemed to focus on Cyllage Ville the most.

"I wonder what happened to everyone." Crystal stated, Gold was still quiet.

"Are you bipolar or something?" She asked the boy.

Gold stood up with a grunt, "I'm fine!" He stretched his arms, "Just a little homesick."

Crystal stared at him, she never knew the loving warmth of a family since she rarely saw her mother and her father was killed.

"It'll be over eventually." She reassured him.

"I can never forgive Cyan for what he's done." Gold clenched his fists, "He made my friends suffer."

Crystal could only stare as he vowed for the unattainable.

Serena slammed her hand on the table, "Oh why not?" She yelled, "Why is it that I have no say in this?!"

Calem looked exasperated, "Because you don't have to do-"

"This is MY district we're talking about, it's MY citizens!" She pointed at the Prince, "Why is it that you hold so much authority in a situation where we are equal?!"

"It's for your safety okay? If I fall, you have to be there to take charge! I'm taking the precaution to ensure we have a higher chance of success!" Calem hissed back.

"WILL YOU ALL JUST SHUT UP!" Yelled a voice from behind Calem.

It was Gray.
