A/N: To be honest, time has abandoned me and I'm so super busy. I just got quite a shocking news that I have to transfer to another school thanks to my father's occupation. My parent said that I'll move into music school and will have extra lessons about instruments.

Now that I said that, why do I have to go in there while I've just quit piano OAO It's really stressful =='' Aside from that, I have to take guitar as my minor... I hope I can choose vocal instead.

Sad to say, I haven't catch up to the fic updates since 17 August, I have to catch up soon!

Now the replies:

Sakuki-yuu-chan, I don't understand what you're saying but thank you very much for reading and reviewing my story. I wonder if you understood what I wrote here... xD

Summary: News spread fast.

"Alright... Then I'll talk to the chairman about this when he came back this afternoon, please come back later."

"I appreciate it, thank you sir." said Bashou as he bowed his head down towards the person he is speaking to.

The man simply nodded, ending their conversation. He spun around and walked down the corridor, his back stiff. Bashou, who had never been in this place before, peeked his head around. The corridor was stretched down long, with another hallway cutting through it. Mahogany doors lined the hall, each with a polished doorknob and a room number on it. There were rows and rows of pictures, but none of them depicted anything of interest, so Bashou didn't look at any.

If he hadn't known any better, he would've thought it was a hotel, but he knew that these rooms were occupied by various hunters. That stern man he talked to may even be a hunter.

This is the Hunter Association, afterall.

Bashou went out of the building with quite an emotionless face, yet strange sweat drops can be seen falling from this head to his chin. He actually panicked and can't wait longer for the chairman's reply, no matter what happened, he has to investigate this matter as quickly as he can.

The day before...

An intruder broke into the mansion in order to kill his boss. Light Nostrade, and with the help of Senritsu, he was able to get ride of the boy. Curiously, he wonder whether the boy he killed was a hunter, he access the hunter website and found something shocking.

The guy who moved like lightning and hit like a thunder. The guy who was smart and collected. The guy who had been there for a long time he couldn't imagine what it would be without him. But now he has to... because he's dead.

Shock hit him hard. His whole body pulsed with sudden panic and blinded shock. Everything seemed to swim before his eyes, the world blurring. Every time the thought 'he's dead' ran across his mind, a painful jab at his chest followed. He couldn't move. Couldn't even breathe or blink for a while.

Without him realizing, Senritsu has stand by his side, wondering what's wrong with him but it's too much for him to explain. Bashou stood aside and let Senritsu scrolled through the website. When she paused and wore a horrifying face, that's when she finally understood what's going on.

"We...We need to report this to Boss directly!" said Senritsu as she stood.

"But..Bu-"

"Do you want to keep something as urgent as this a secret?"

"That's not what I mean, but..."

"I'll report this now." she turned around and exited the room.

She made her way to Light's room slowly, unable to process what Bashou had just discovered. Her brain was numb, and it was as if her whole body was operating by itself. But she pulled herself together with more strength than Bashou did, knowing she had to tell the boss before anything happens. She had to be in control.

Arriving at the pale door of Light's room, she landed soft, gentle knocks onto the door, waiting for Light's grunt of approval before stepping in. Another pair of footsteps sounded behind her, and she turned around to find a pale-faced Bashou following her in, his fingers holding the door from closing and hitting him on the face.

"Now, what do you want? Both of you?" asked Light.

"I have an important news to report, sir." replied Senritsu as she continued. "Bashou and I access the HunterWebsite's Dead List and found one of our colleagues' name, sir."

"Ow? Who is it? Squwala? Lin? Or could it be Dalzollene?"

"It's Kurapika, sir."

The words seemed to electrify the room. Light came to a sand still, the colour draining from his face, his eyes widening. Bashou and Senritsu stayed quiet, not daring to break the high-strung tension. The only sound in the room were their breaths and the tick-tocking of the clock. Wary of how Light's reaction would be, Senritsu and Bashou silently took a step back at the same time. Maybe he needed time to process it.

But before he could reach the door, Light croaked out, the words a gusty breath of air. "K-Kurapika, you said?"

"Both of us were also shocked about this, but-"

"Bashou! Please go directly to the Hunter Association and ask whether if you are allowed to see Kurapika's dead body. Call me as soon as you receive their approval. I refused to believe this if I've not seen his dead body with my own eyes." ordered Light.

After Bashou had received his orders, he left the mansion.

And that's how it is...

'At least, I still have time before the reply. Guess, I'll have some drink.'

Bashou meandered through the streets, taking in the view of the bustling roads. He strolled around a few times, panic just one foot behind him as he kept on thinking about Kurapika's death. Was it real? Could it be real? Kurapika was one of the finest fighter he ever knew. He was skilled and strong, and him just being suddenly dead just didn't make sense to him. His mind laced with anxiety and dread as he kept on walking. What if they did found his body?

Shaking his head, he bit his lip and decided to stop by in a cafe. He would spent the hours there before returning to the Hunter Association. A cup of tea or chocolate, and maybe some food would do him and his worried mind good.

He went to the front foor and was greeted by a waitress, in her maid uniform, she asked whether he would prefer to sit in the balcony or inside and he chose to sit inside in a for-two-people-round table. There was an adult and two children sitting in the table next to him.

The manly-looking adult sitting beside him has a black hair and wears a pair of teashade sunglasses. The spiky black-haired child sitting across the table has green jacket with black tank top underneath and silver-haired boy sitting next to him wears a long-sleeved abd darj coloured shirts with turtleneck.

'Guys these days already have a lot of children, huh...' thought Bashou.

As he was sitting quietly, waiting for his orders to come, he could hear every single things they said. It started from silly video games they played in the Game Centre, fights they've been to and delicious foods they ate. At first, Bashou didn't give a damn of what he heard but the last things they said caught his attention which is regarding the death of his colleague.

"Have you seen the Hunter Website guys?" said the adult.

"We have. But I'm sure it's not true! Kurapika wont die that easily!"

'Kurapika? They know Kurapika?'

"I thought so, old man..." said the silver-haired boy. "That vengeful guy wont die before he accomplished his goals so stay at ease for now."

"How can you be so sure? That guys is your friend, isn't he? Aren't you worried or something...?!" out of nowhere Bashou burst out yelling at the three of them and these act had attract a lot of attention, customers treated them as if they're having a fight.

"Who the hell are you?" asked the silver-haired boy.

"I-I am a fellow bodyguard in Nostrade Mansion, just like Kurapika!"

"Oh! Kurapika's friend? I'm Gon! What's your name?"

"I'm Bashou."

"Nice to meet you, I'm Leorio."

"Killua."

When the introductions were over, Bashou felt as if these guys could offer him an answer. As insight to Kurapika that he didn't know. And anything at all would be good than nothing right now. In fact, maybe he could put his own mind at east. So he dragged over his table and connected it with theirs. They didn't seem to mind at all and they started to chat.

Stories after stories were told. Gon started first, reminiscing about how they all first met Kurapika at the hunter exam. He continued on, detailing their past and how they had bonded. They had met as strangers, but now felt so close to each other. His face looked wistful as he recollected his memories, with a tinge of sadness.

To the point that this leads to the original topic they should be discussing about. "So, what happen to Kurapika, moustache man?" asked Killua.

"I don't know, he was send abroad for a mission and don't call me that! I have a name!"

"Send abroad? To where?"

"Nelcea."

"What for?"

"He was to bring home a gem entrusted by Light Nostrade's best friend, but it's been a week and he hasn't come back."

Hearing this, everyone has the same thoughts running across their minds, could it really be that Kurapika has...?

"No! I'm sure he's alive!" said Gon as he clenched his fist.

"Hmm.. You're right." smiled Killua. "Anyway, moustache man, why are you here instead of investigating it?"

"I am investigating it."

"How so?"

"When our boss knew about it, he just couldn't accept it. He sent me to the Hunter Association to make an excuse to see his dead body. Now I'm waiting for the chairman's approval and will come back a few more hours."

"Then take us with you! We want to discover the truth!"

"Alright."

'This is friendship, huh...'

When the waitress came with two trays of food, they stopped talking and delightfully rubbed their hands before scarfing down the food. They are as greedily as wolves, their stomachs rumbling with hunter. Bashou was startled when he realized that Gon and Killua had literally ordered half of the menu, and took two hours to finish all of the foods.

After each of them had pay their bills, they set off for the Hunter Association, just about three hundred metres away from the cafe they're been into.

The four of them entered the massive building. It was impressive. It had to be about ten stories tall, from what Bashou had seen outside. The walls were draped with velvet wallpaper and grand curtains, seemingly weighing heavier than Bashou himself. Teak wooden tables stood between arms' length, proudly holding up antiques and crystals, some dating back to the 1900s. They were priceless and irreplaceable. When Bashou looked down, his jaw slightly dropped. The tile he was standing on- is it seriously made of gems? He shook his head, stunned by the splendor of the whole place.

He searched for the stern man he had asked permission to, but couldn't find him anywhere. Since he didn't ask for his name, his search couldn't be relied on to the receptionist, and only could be conducted by his own eyes.

He searched frm one place to another and accidentally bumped into someone. Fortunately, that's the man he was looking for.

"Ah you! Finally found you. So how's it turns out?"

"Huh? Oh, it's you. Follow me."

They trailed after the stern-faced man, who was walking up flights of stairs. They went up to the fifth floow and into an empty corridor. No one was around, and the doors looked just the same as the ones Bashou had saw earlier today.

They stopped at a certain grey-coloured metal door and unlocked it. At first, the four of them thought that the room was filled with dead bodies, but it's not like what they thought. The room has a bed, a computer and a dresser, in short, it looks like a bed room.

"This room is..." mumble Bashou as he looked around.

"This is my personal room."

"Why are you taking us here?'

"My apology, I left something behind." the man unlocked his drawer and took out a card-like thing from it then handed it to Bashou. "This is all I can give you."

They carefully looked at it and came into a conclusion that it's Kurapika's hunter license.

"Why are you giving me this..."

"As you can see here, Netero chairman had been assign to another mission and will just come back one month later."

"Still, why are you giving me this license and why the hell do you have this license?"

"Kindly think about it, this license is important as it is irreplaceable, why would someone leave something as important as this abandon?"

"No way..."

"There's no doubt that he's de-"

"Enough! Thank you for your guidance, we'll do things on our own now"

This is not a satisfying answer...

As they left the building, Gon tilted his head up and look into the sky. 'Kurapika... Whenever you are, I hope you're safe.'
