I'm Only Me When I'm With You
Chapter 10
She felt sick, she felt dizzy but no one knew so she was pushing though it. She gripped the counter as she felt a wave of dizziness come over her.
"Brie," whispered Troy, coming to her side. "Go take a minute upstairs and hydrate."
"I'm ok," whispered Gabriella.
"No offence you look like you're about to puke," whispered Troy.
Gabriella glanced around the kitchen her brother were there and everyone else was out in the café so nodding she headed up to the flat.
Troy glanced after her.
"Go if you want we can hold the fort," smiled Jordan.
To say Jordan and Jason were shocked on New Years to find out their baby sister was with their best friend and excepting his baby – at nineteen – it was a bit of a shock but when it came down to it they realized they couldn't think of a better guy for her to be with. They knew they had to push aside there thoughts and make sure Gabriella was top priority her healthy and their nephew or niece matter more than how they felt about the relationship.
"Hey where'd did Gabriella go?" asked Yvette.
"Toilet. Why?" asked Jordan.
Everyone was still very wary of Yvette since the incident with the knife.
"Oh please I'm not going to do anything she has an admirer outside," smiled Yvette. "He wants to ask her out."
"I'll come talk to him," said Jordan.
"I think we should both go talk to him," smiled Jason.
"Why would you do that?" asked Yvette.
Troy came out from the stairs.
"Because anyone who wants to date Gabriella has to talk to her brothers first," answered Troy.
Yvette walked out followed by Jason and Jordan. Seconds later Gabriella came down the stairs.
"Hey how you feeling?" asked Troy, walking over to her.
"Bit better," she smiled.
"You should go lie down," whispered Troy. "You're pale, clammy and don't look well."
"I'll be fine," whispered Gabriella.
"Oh and there's an admirer out front for you. Jordan and Jason have gone to talk to him," smiled Troy.
"This I gotta see," smiled Gabriella.
"Gabriella!" exclaimed a voice, as she poked her head around the kitchen door.
She retreated back and hid against Troy.
"Oh god," she whispered.
"What? Who is it?" asked Troy.
"David. From across the road. From the newsagents. He flirts with me every time I go in there," whispered Gabriella.
"Is that why you send me in now or go to the other one down the road?" asked Troy.
Gabriella nodded.
"Well just go out there and tell him you're taken," answered Troy.
"No one knows I'm dating anyone apart from my brothers," whispered Gabriella.
"You don't have to say who you can just say have a boyfriend at college," said Troy.
"Ugh fine but you owe me," whispered Gabriella. "I want a tuna mayo, sweet corn, cucumber and pepper sandwich."
"Done," smiled Troy.
"When I mean pepper I mean the spice and the salad," said Gabriella.
"All mixed together?" asked Troy.
"Yeah and toasted," said Gabriella. "But forget about the pepper and cucumber."
Troy nodded. "I'll do that as soon as you turn this guy down."
"Gabriella!" exclaimed David.
"Hi," said Gabriella.
Everyone walked off but Troy, Jordan and Jason stood in the background.
"Are they really your brothers?" asked David.
Gabriella nodded. "I'm flattered you want to ask me out but I'm spoken for."
David face dropped.
"I'm sorry," said Gabriella.
"Is there any chance?" asked David.
"No not for a long, long while," said Gabriella, dropping her hand to her stomach.
"I see," said David, before he turned around and walked out.
Troy came up next to her and started to make her sandwich.
"I don't want that toasted anymore," whispered Gabriella.
"Ok," said Troy.
"Hey Troy," said Yvette, coming up to them. "Do you fancy getting a drink after work?"
"We close at half two," said Troy.
"Later," said Yvette.
"I have a girlfriend Yvette," said Troy.
"Oh ok," said Yvette, before she walked off.
"What is it with everyone getting asked out today?" asked Jordan.
"Oh my god," whispered Jason. "Gabs look."
"What is something wrong?" asked Gabriella.
"Just look," said Jordan, pointing.
"Oh my god," whispered Gabriella. "DADDY!"
