What happened last:
Marceline found out exactly what she needed to do to fix the problems involving the assassins but there's only one problem… she needs Princess Bubblegum's help. After going to retrieve the candy princess some unexpected events started to unfold…
The two sides of the thought on Marceline's mind, arguing about the pros and cons of the good or bad decision that she could make, were going back in forth. She knew what she wanted and what she needed but for some odd reason, it was unclear what the more important one was.
PB: "Marceline…" She said in a sly, yet sweet voice.
M: "W-what?" She started to stutter from the mix anxious and nervous feelings.
PB: "Kiss me."
M: "PB… You know I can't-"
To Marceline's absolute shock and almost horror, the princess leaned in to kiss Marceline. She immediately started to push back on the princess's shoulders to get her to stop.
M: "What the…" She seemed angry but her tone quickly changed.
The princess ignored the words that Marcy said out of anger and she was able to calm her back down almost immediately by moving back in for another kiss.
Marceline's mind wasn't working like it normally did, it seemed to be doing its own thing as if she was watching a movie but she was the main character and had no control over herself.
The vampire queen didn't have the mental willpower to resist the princess any longer. So that's exactly what she didn't do.
This moment was a nostalgic blast from the past for Marceline. The sweet taste of Bonnibel's bubblegum flavored lips was always something that had Marceline coming back for more. It was soo unique and made the princess that much more desirable. This was exactly as she remembered things between her and the princess. It was as if they were acting out one of their past moments together.
It didn't take much or even that long for the situation to get more intense than with anything else. The two girls already knew each other and already knew each other's limits very well. And they weren't even halfway there…
As they were getting "re-familiarized" with each other Marceline naturally started to use her long tongue to keep things interesting. It was all going well until she noticed an odd texture…
PB: "Marcy…"
The odd texture felt like smooth but slightly rough at the same time…
PB: "Marcy."
It felt like some sort of cloth..."
PB: "Maaaaaaaaaaaaarcy!" The princess said in a loud voice.
M: "What the?" She thought to herself as her eyes shot open. She felt disoriented and bewildered; the dream that she just had felt soo real to her.
Marceline quickly pushed the pillow away that she was grasping and sat up.
She saw the princess standing there, in very conservative clothing, ready for the trip to the Nightosphere.
PB: "Are you ok Marcy?" She said in an amused tone.
M: "Y-yeah. Why do you ask?" Marceline realized that she dozed off for a few minutes but tried to play off that she was awake the whole time.
PB: "Well, first off… you seemed to have taken a liking to my pillow because it has your spit all over it." She said pllayfully.
Marceline's cheeks promptly flushed red and she turned her head away in embarrassment, not bothering to respond to the princess.
PB: "Is something wrong?"
Marceline didn't say anything she just continued to look away. She was still confused with what just happened. The dream that she just had seemed to mesh with reality perfectly. It didn't make any sense to her how it could have happened the way it did.
What's going on in her head?
PB: "Were you having a dream or something?"
The vampire queen did exactly as she did after the princess's first question but Bonnie noticed that Marcy's cheeks became the slightest bit redder after the second question.
PB: "You can tell me about it you know."
M: "I don't know if I-"
PB: "Marcy it's ok. It can be our secret." She said, trying to get the vampire queen to talk. She wasn't trying to get Marceline to tell her some sort of juicy gossip or anything; she just wanted her to feel comfortable telling her a secret.
Marceline let out a big exhale and got ready to tell the princess about her interesting dream, cheeks still scarlet red.
M: "Ok… before I tell you, you gotta first promise something."
PB: "What?"
M: "Don't judge me."
PB: Uh… ok?" She said with a smirk.
M: "Ok so… I laid down on your bed and after I somehow, which I still don't understand, fell asleep, I had a very interesting dream...
PB: "Yeah… my bed is kinda made up of synthetic clouds that I engineered in the lab so it's basically the most comfortable bed that's ever existed. But… what was the dream about?"
M: "So I guess I was laying there and long story short… you kissed me." She said while breaking eye contact.
PB: "Ooh… do tell." She was legitimately intrigued.
M: "So… I originally tried to push you off me but you were pretty assertive and basically, we just kept going."
PB: "Wow Marcy, you're even dirtier than me." She was making a joke out of the conversation.
M: "What?! No way! You're the one that's sneaking into the showers and stuff." She replied with an even better comeback.
PB: "Well, I guess I know what goes through your mind when I get dressed in front of you." She said with a smile while making fun of Marceline.
M: "What? N-no! That was just a one time thing…"
PB: "Suuuuuure…"
M: "Ugh!"
PB: "Anyway so Marcy, two things…" She said, quickly changing the subject.
M: "Yes?"
PB: "So, When are we going to the Nightosphere?"
M: "Oh uh… right now. I was just waiting for you to get dressed."
PB: "Oh, ok then." She sounded satisfied with the simple answer.
M: "So what's the other thing?"
PB: "Well I…" The princess began fidgeting her hands as if she was nervous of something.
Then she went and sat down next to Marceline and looked at her.
M: "W-what are you doing?" She thought that the princess was going to try something…
PB: "I just… want to say sorry for the way I've been acting. I didn't really mean to try to do things with you while you've been with Finn… well actually… I did. I can't lie about that. But that's why I'm apologizing. Because I feel bad that I did it and I want let you know that I treasure our friendship more than anything; that and science of course." She said with a chuckle but it was completely sincere.
Marceline was instantly relieved after hearing that. Yet… somehow let down…
M: "It's ok PB. I forgive you." She said with a content smile.
Marceline leaned over and hugged her long-time friend. She felt as if they were finally on the same page with each other since Marceline began dating Finn.
PB: "Ok, now let's go fix this biz with the assassins before more show up."
M: "What if something happens while we're gone?"
PB: "Don't worry; when I left the room which was right after you fell asleep I suppose, I told Peppermint Butler to call me on the holo-pendant if anything happened. Everything should be fine though. I told the Banana guards to stay alert... although that probably won't really help anything."
M: "Geez… how long was I out?"
PB: "Only about 5 minutes. I told you that I left and you answered me but I guess you were just talking in your sleep or something."
M: "Hmmm…" She didn't really have much else to say.
PB: "Well, I suppose we should go now. But one more thing before we do…"
M: "What's that?"
PB: "We're having a sleepover or something with everyone cause I'm getting annoyed with everyone being on different sleep schedules and falling asleep all the time. It's chaos!" She wasn't upset by any means; she just thought that it would make more sense if everyone was awake at the same time.
Marceline couldn't help but think of Finn when Bubblegum mentioned "sleep schedules". She remembers when that was a slight problem for the two of them and how Finn ever soo kindly made it so he would be awake at the same time as her so that he could take care of her.
Who knows what would have happened if he hadn't done that…
M: "Sounds fun." She happily said.
PB began drawing the face image on the wall and then handed Marceline the bug milk. The vampire instinctually threw the bug milk on the image and started the incantation.
M: "Maloso vobiscu-"
PB: "Wait!"
M: "What PB?" She almost yelled, thinking that something was wrong.
PB: "Ooh! Can I try?" She sounded overly excited while asking.
M: "Uh… sure."
PB: " Maloso… vobiscus et come spuritus!"
Nothing happened.
M: "What was that? Ha Ha Ha!" She said as she began laughing at the princess's failed attempt.
PB: "Hey! It's been a while since I've done this. Gimme a break."
M: "Oh all right. I guess you can try again next time, ."
The princess didn't mind that she messed it up, she was just glad to hear that there would be a next time.
M: " Maloso vobiscum et cum spuritum!" She shouted and the portal immediately opened.
They both stared into the portal that led to an endless abyss of misery and torture and Bubblegum was the only one that had any slight sense of fear.
With one last glance between the two girls they both stepped into the Nightosphere and Marceline shut the portal behind them.
Back to Finn
*RING* *RING*
F: "Ah! My phone's ringin'! Play for me, Jake!" Finn yelled.
He was busy playing Guardians of Sunshine with Jake and was really getting into the game. Just as the brothers often both do. They had been playing Beemo and doing other random things around the Candy Kingdom since Marceline and Bubblegum said that they were going to the Nightosphere.
Finn pulled the phone out of his backpack and answered it.
F: "Hello?"
Jake didn't pay any attention to his brother; he just kept playing the game.
F: "Oh hey! What's up?" He sounded very surprised.
F: "No, not really. Why? What do you need? -Well sure, can I bring Jake? -Ok. -I'll meet you there. Bye." He sounded almost elated while he was talking on the phone.
J: "What was that about, man?"
F: "Nothing too crazy, just another princess needing my help."
J: "Ok well, where are we going?"
F: "Well, she said to go without you, man…"
J: "Well, that's weird. Oh well." Jake didn't mind at all that he didn't need to go. He was feeling lazy today.
F: "So uh… yeah man, she said that it's urgent so I should probably go…"
J: "Ok man, I'll see you later."
F: You're not even gonna ask who it is?"
J: "Who is it?" Jake asked, sounding completely honest.
Finn just gave Jake a blank stare and tried to tell his brother who it was using nonverbal communication; which didn't seem to work.
After a few seconds of thinking, Finn decided to go against the princess's wishes and tell his brother who it was that called. It's not like it would hurt anything to tell his brother.
F: "So uh… yeah. You could probably guess who called… I actually haven't talked to her in a while…"
J: "No way… It's not…?"
F: "Yeah man… Flame Princess."
