Basket Forty-One: Recruiting Help

OoOoO

"A- Aomine's school!?" Kuroi gaped, mouth literally hanging from the shock of the news. Kise smiled rather cheekily, pushing her jaw up, closing her mouth for her.

"Yep!" He grinned, looking over her shoulder at the clear blue sky.

"I-... I'll be there to cheer you all on." Kuroi offered, fists clenching softly. Kise's smile dropped as he nodded solemnly. "Oh," Kise glanced back at Kuroi, blinking curiously. "I can get some people to come help cheer you all on and stuff! In fact, I'll go ask them right now!" Kuroi grinned, lightly smacking Kise's shoulder in a gesture that told him 'not to worry about it', and ran off, leaving the blond on the roof.

"Ya- Yasuhirocchi!... What about my question..." He pouted, shoulders drooping as he stared at the exit door.

It took a while, but Kuroi had finally found who she was looking for. "Kira-sempai!" She called, but quickly cleared her throat, making it a bit deeper. "I- I mean, Ki- Kira-sempai." Kuroi shoved her hands in her blazer's pockets, leaning against the wall, in an attempt to appear cool.

Kira just raised a delicate eyebrow, moving out of the way of the students to stand in front of Kuroi. "What do you want, Kuroi?" She asked lightly, a tinge of annoyance laced in her voice. Kuroi just rolled her eyes, looking around, just to make sure no one was listening in on their conversation.

"I just wanted to know if you wanted to come help me cheer on the team for their game against Ao- er, uh, Touou?"

"Wait, wait. What?" Kira hissed quietly, eyes narrowing.

"What, what?" Kuroi stared dumbly in confusion.

"You aren't on the team anymore?"

"Oh... No." Kuroi muttered, eyes cast to the ground. "My mom..."

Kira's eyes widened, her posture straightening, "I swear, Kuroi. I didn't tell her anything." She said in a serious tone.

"I know, I know," Kuroi waved her hand in the air, dismissing Kira's small frown, "She just found out when I wasn't home. Anyway, you didn't answer my question?"

"Oh," It was Kira's turn to give her a dumbfounded stare, before shaking it off, "Yeah. Sure, I mean... As long as there'll be hot guys!" Kira harrumphed, crossing her arms after she tossed her hair over her shoulder.

Kuroi smiled and nodded, "Great. Thanks. I'll give you more details later, Kira-sempai!" Kuroi called as she began to run off down the hall, in search of the rest of the people she had in mind.

OoOoO

"I swear, I can never find them when I need them..." Kuroi mumbled, her purple orbs doing another once-over of the field where many of the girls came to eat during lunch because it was filled with tons of flowers and such.

She turned, giving up and ready to find the last person she needed to talk to, until she literally walked into someone. "Oh, sor-"

"Kuro-kun!"

"Kuro-sempai!"

The two girls, the ones who made her very fanclub, sparkled as they spoke at the exact same time, making it hard for Kuroi to concentrate for a second. "There you are!" Kuroi said, sighing loudly in relief.

"Eh? Where you looking for us?" The one who had dark crimson hair and crystal green eyes squeaked, cheeks flushing slightly at the question.

"Have any juicy information for your beloved fans~?" The brunette with blue eyes asked excitedly, sharing a look with her friend.

"One at a time. And no." Kuroi ignored their disappointed glances and pouts. "I wanted to know-... Actually, I don't even know your names..."

"Oh, I'm Fujimori Kyoko," The girl, Kyoko, with the soft brown hair said, smiling softly, "and this is Kanno Misaki!" She pointed to her fellow fanclub member, the girl with crimson hair.

"Nice to finally and formally meet you." Kuroi smiled, earning giggles from the two girls. She faltered, realizing she shouldn't really say such things, especially to two girls who created a fanclub for her. Kuroi cleared her throat, making sure to keep it the same deep pitch she's used many times before, "As I was saying, I really wanted to ask you guys a favor," Kuroi clasped her hands together, grinning sheepishly.

Both Misaki and Kyoko had identical looks of curiousness and anticipation etched on their faces, small smiles and cheeks slightly flushed. "E- uh, I was wondering if you could help come cheer for our basketball team!" Kuroi nearly stuttered out, swallowing the lump in her throat, feeling slightly nervous from the intense stares she got from the two girls.

Kyoko and Misaki shared a look before turning back to their sempai-in-love. "Okay!" They both agreed, grinning. "We'll go ask the others!" Misaki said, turning on her heel, pulling a Kyoko along with her.

"W- Wait, what others?!" Kuroi asked, surprised.

"The others in your fanclub, silly!" Kyoko managed to reply, before finally running off with her friend, Misaki.

"There... are others!?" Kuroi felt faint at the news she received, before slowly pushing the weird thoughts from her head. "If they only knew..." She murmured, making her way towards the library.

OoOoO

Kuroi stepped past all the shelves upon shelves of books, searching in the aisles, looking for a certain person. Once she spotted her, Kuroi tip-toed over, jumping next to her. "Rei-chan!" She burst out, watching her blue haired friend practically jump out of her skin, heading turning in shock and surprise, lips parted as if she wanted to scream, but didn't, thankfully.

Mikurei clutched the book close to her chest, heart beating wildly. "I was... absorbed in my book." She admitted quietly, cheeks flushing from being startled like that.

"Aw, you're so cute." Kuroi teased, giggling at how Mikurei's cheeks darkened. "I'm sorry I haven't talked to you much, but a lot has been going on. I shall fill you in," Kuroi smiled, taking a seat beside her friend, making herself comfortable.

OoOoO

"I'm sorry you're off the team..." Mikurei offered, honestly feeling bad. Kuroi shrugged, eyes darting anywhere but the girl who sat beside her.

"It's fine. It's kinda what I get, anyway... I still miss everyone, a lot..." Kuroi grumbled quietly, un-crossing her legs to stretch them out. The five-minute warning bell chimed, making both students look up at the bell above them.

"Damn. Well, anyway, I just wanted to ask if you wanted to come help cheer for the basketball team with me!" Kuroi asked as she stood up, rolling her shoulder to loosen it up a bit. A minute passed by, and Kuroi smiled sympathetically. "Don't worry, it doesn't get that crowded! It'll be fun! And I'm pretty sure Kise will be playing~" Kuroi laughed at the blush that formed on Mikurei's otherwise pale cheeks. She held her hand out, watching the amber eyed girl stare, before taking it with a shy, but warm smile.
