What happened last:

With the help of Flame Princess, Bubblegum was able to wake Marceline from her coma. After the vampire queen woke up, she went to see if Finn really was dead like she thought. After the depressing discovery she feels as if all she's left with is sadness.

Marceline knew that she could save Finn but she didn't know if it would be the best idea.

It was eating her up on the inside and she didn't really have many ways to fix things this time. Unlike other times when she had problems, the solutions were very limited and someone was going to have to die. Marceline couldn't think of anyone who would be willing or even possible to get to besides herself. So she came to the conclusion; it was either her or Finn.

The thought of being forced to make a decision was mind numbing. For once in her life she found someone who understands her and now she has to make a life or death decision. Another thing that made this more difficult was knowing that Finn was dead inside of that time frozen capsule of dark energy.

Marceline was just staring at Finn's lifeless body when she noticed what she was wearing. She realized that her clothes were different from what she remembers wearing because the shirt she had on was much bigger. She looked down to see that she was wearing the shirt she gave to Bonnie. Normally, seeing something symbolic like this would give Marceline more driving force to keep on living and fighting. But not this time…

She was tired of the broken heart, she was sick of the loss and most of all… she was fed up with only caring about herself. If she didn't even at least give Bubblegum a chance at saving Finn then what kind of person would that make her? The vampire queen has been viciously greedy her entire life. She took what she wanted and guarded what was hers. It didn't matter if she didn't need something, if it was available, it was hers.

She's hurt soo many people during the many cycles of grieving that she's experienced and she felt like "Glob" would never forgive her for it. She thought long and hard and decided to at least attempt to do what may let her soul rest in peace when she dies. She's been alive for an entire millennium (which isn't very long for vampires) and she feels as though she's had her full of the world and what it had to offer.

She's made friends and lost them.

She's cried and those tears dried.

She's been hurt but recovered.

She's loved and lost.

But despite all of the bad that's happened to her over the centuries, some of the people that mattered most were there when she needed them. Her father, Hunson, regardless of how fragile the father-daughter relationship they had was, he always supported and loved his daughter. Bonnibel was another person that helped her with her life greatly. The candy princess was around for many years as Marceline's best friend, friend, and occasional shoulder to cry on. And neither last nor the least was Finn the Human. He only knew the vampire queen for a few years but she learned a lot from him in that time. He taught her how to be happy again and to trust people again. But most importantly, he taught her how to love unconditionally again, and in a much more powerful way than before.

Marceline was almost feeling like she was regretting her decision to break Finn's curse before even doing it but her mind suddenly went blank. Her soul felt at ease and she knew that this was what needed to be done. She took in a few deep breaths and let them out slowly. Her body seemed to calm down entirely and she felt relaxed.

M: "Finn would do this for me…" She knew he would do it for her if he was in her situation.

Once her mind was completely made up she wanted to do one last thing before saying goodbye to this unforgiving and merciless land of Ooo and more importantly Finn. She left the darkness filled room, went invisible and got a few things. It only took her a few moments to get everything and she returned before anyone could notice.

She had her guitar, a pen and her diary. She sat down, cross-legged in front of the dark orb containing Finn and began to write some things down in her journal. It was her final words…

..

..

"Dear everyone,

First off I wanna say sorry that you guys had to find me like this. I'm probably hard to recognize because of rapid aging or some junk like that but it's really me, Marcy. Just know that I did this for a good reason and I hope you guys can save Finn.

I'm sorry dad for lying to you about not sacrificing myself to save Finn. I just felt like there was no other way around this and I didn't want to keep living if I would just live out my days as a selfish little punk. I mean… I know I'm supposed to be evil and stuff but… I don't know… that's just not my style. I like acting evil sometimes, just not all the time. What I'm really trying to say is that… I love you dad. I'm sorry for all of the fighting and arguing in the past but I really love you. And I forgive you for the thing about the fries.

Bonnie, oh where do I begin? You've been there for me longer than I remember. We've fought a lot and for the longest time I thought we were sworn enemies. But I was wrong. Somewhere in between the yelling, a few slaps and punches here and there and just who you are… I fell for it. And I fell really hard. You were the only person that never changed during my lifetime. And while it had its downsides, I loved you for it. You were the one stable thing in my roller coaster of a life. Just always remember me and know that I love you, Bon Bon.

Finn… I know you're going to read this. You just have to. I know in my heart that Bonnie will be able to save you. I'm sorry that I couldn't protect you, I tried my hardest but you know how epic battles can be sometimes. One moment you're fighting and the next… you find yourself on the doorstep of a very lonely vampire queen. And maybe, you'll find a way to return fire back to her heart that hadn't existed in a long time. I can never thank you, or repay you, or do enough to show you how much I really loved you, Finn. So just do one thing for me, live the life that I tried soo hard to give back to you. But don't go like… making a cult after me or any of that wack bunk. Just be happy, you have a bunch of people that don't even deserve you, heck… I didn't even deserve you. But you chose me anyway. And before I start to soak these pages with tears, I'm gonna finish this. I love you Finn the Human.

For everyone else, Jake, Lady, Beemo and everyone else. I didn't forget about you, I'm just running out of space to write. But if you're really curious about what I think of you, just read my diary. But not too much…"

~Marceline the Vampire Queen

After she finished writing, she placed the pen down on the pages and left her diary open so that it would be the first thing read when someone looks at her diary. The vampire queen then reached over and grabbed her guitar. She strummed a few chords to get her creative mind flowing one last time. Then she began to sing what was written on her heart for the last time.

Once again, another song. So if any of you people that are reading this want to hear a sung version of it then go to Youtube and look up "FanFiction: Sempiternal"

There's also a link on my profile if you would rather just click.

"When I was younger I heard, that my momma died,

and went to the sky.

My dad he left to and I was

lost and afraid, all by myself.

And then I thought

That it'd be always like this. just like this...

And then that day came when we met

It all changed right there, before my eyes

Cause Ohhh...

You are the only exception (x4)

Maybe we met somewhere, in our past lives

And felt this same love.

And now I have to decide, just what to do

It's me or you...

And I lived my whole life alone,

keeping a comfortable distance.

And up until now I have sworn to myself

that I'll live on, till the end of time

Cause nothin' ever seems to work out right.

Well… you are the only exception (x4)

You always brought out the best of me and I can't,

bear to think of livin' life without you here.

I hate to leave you all alone here without me...

but I loved you till the death can't you see?

You are the only exception (x8)

And I'm on my way to forgetting him...

No, I'm on my way to saving him."

..

As Marceline finished playing her song and strummed the final chord, she began to cry. She tried her best to hold back the tears because she's been crying soo much lately but it just wasn't possible. She was having a hard time accepting the fact that her and Finn will no longer be able to be together. She felt like she was dying inside and that feeling was only fitting to what she was planning on doing next.

She sang her song and now she's going to do what she needed to do. She walked up to the ominous orb to trade her immortality in order to break the curse. Finn's life was on the line so she didn't want to postpone her impending doom any longer.

Marceline reached out and touched the sphere of dark matter and it felt very cold. It was almost to the point to where it burned the vampire queen. She thought that this was an effect of the dark energy attempting to accept her immortal offering but it wasn't something was very off about the orb. It gradually turned in to a brownish-yellow color then immediately turned blood red.

Marcy was confused but she was convinced that she was beginning to break the spell. She could swear that she was feeling more tired and sleepy as if the orb was draining the life energy from the vampire queen but it was all in her head.

Yes, the orb's ancient magical grasp on Finn's body was beginning to break down and dissolve but it's not because of Marceline's voluntarily forfeited immortality. It wasn't because of Hunson and Peppermint Butler's magic either. Not even PB was the one to fix this issue.

But playing that song, Marceline's sempiternal love for Finn transpired into something that was almost a tangible magic force. It wasn't the kind of immortality to keep a living being alive forever but it was the powerful emotions of someone who truly loved the person under the ancient curse. Her love for Finn was eternal.

It may have been something that was pre-determined by the cosmic owl or it was something that Finn and Marcy did to intertwine their own destinies. The truth might never be known, but what is for certain is the fact that her feelings for the human boy was enough to break the curse and Finn's, still lifeless, body is free.

M: "Oh my glob…" She said sounding exhausted as she quickly positioned herself in front of Finn to catch him before he fell to the ground. She immediately sensed something off about him that shocked her. It made a lot of sense why her father didn't say anything about this before.

She could feel that Finn's life energy was still present in his body, so he wasn't dead but his soul was split and sent to one of the dead worlds as if Finn had really died. She would have noticed it before but Finn being stuck in that orb of dark energy must have preventing her from detecting anything.

Marceline made a quick decision to bring Finn to Bubblegum for medical help. She thought that the princess would be able to care for Finn while she did what she knew she had to do next. She had to get Finn's soul back.

She needed to see Death.

With the mostly dead human boy in her arms, Marceline flew down the tower and quickly made her way to Princess Bubblegum. On her way, she passed through the kitchen where her father and Peppermint Butler were eating and talking. As soon as she entered the room and they noticed that she had Finn in her arms, they both simultaneously spit out the food they had in their mouths from the surprise.

HA: "Marcy, how did you-?" He stopped talking because the vampire queen had already passed by them.

She ignored everything around her. Various candy people gasped when she passed by with the fallen hero of Ooo. They all believed that Finn was actually dead because they couldn't detect the subtle nuance of Finn's soul not existing in his body. Not even her father noticed because he doesn't take time to understand souls, he just consumes them.

When Marceline got to the infirmary, she came up on Bubblegum almost wrestling with Starchy because he didn't want to take the medicine that she needed to give him.

PB: "Just take the dang medicine! You're only going to get worse if you don't!" She said as she tried to force the syringe in her hand in Starchy's arm.

Starchy: "No! Starchy needs… magic!" He was struggling to push her away. One of his hands slipped and he accidentally slapped Bubblegum in the face.

PB: "I'm not asking!"

The struggle only lasted for a few seconds until Marceline said something.

M: "Bonnie." She said in a calm voice.

PB: "What, Marcy? I'm kinda busy and-" She turned to the vampire queen and noticed Finn in her arms. She dropped the syringe.

M: "Please help…" She held out his body to Bubblegum.

PB: "Finn!" She rushed towards Marceline and grabbed Finn. She didn't say anything else; she just rushed out of the room with him.

Marceline knew that Finn was in good hands. If anyone could help him then it was the princess of the candy kingdom.

She turned to starchy and noticed that he looked very upset and sick. Marcy picked up the syringe off the ground and tried to reason with starchy.

M: "Hey man, why don't you wanna take your meds? They're only gonna make you feel better."

Starchy: "Because… Starchy only uses magic to get better…" He was pouting.

M: "Hmmm…" She looked at the syringe for a second.

She then used her telekinesis and other magical abilities to make a few random colorful effects happen around the syringe, giving the impression that it's now infused with magic.

Starchy: "I-is that real magic?"

M: "Yeah man. It's got magic in it now." She said happily, and then she injected the medicine into Starchy's arm.

Starchy: "Thank you, Marceline!"

M: "No probs, Starchy." She said then floated out of the room to find where Bubblegum took Finn. Her first thought was that she probably took him to her room, and she was right.

She walked straight in the door and saw her father and Peppermint Butler in there, waiting for her to arrive. Bubblegum was in the process of hooking up all of the medical equipment to Finn.

HA: "Marceline, how did you get Finn's corpse out of that magical orb?"

M: "First off, I did it without giving up my immortality because I knew what I was doing (she actually didn't) and second, Finn isn't dead. His soul was just split from his body but you wouldn't know that because you never take the time to get to know anyone's soul, you just take them." She was slightly angry, but it was mainly because she was under a lot of stress.

HA: "Well, if that's the case then-"

P. Butler: "-She needs to talk to Death about getting Finn's soul back."

M: "Yeah… and I don't even know how I'm going to get him to return Finn's soul…"

P. Butler: "Shhh… Take this and go to his castle of light in two days at midnight." He handed her a nickel.

M: "What is this and why do I have to wait two days?" She was completely confused.

P. Butler: "You want Finn's soul back right?"

M: "Ye-"

P. Butler: "Then do exactly what I said… *ahem* Miss Abadeer." He felt like he slightly stepped out of line but he corrected himself.

Hunson didn't bother to say anything, he knew Peppermint Butler had good ideas and he trusted him.

M: "O-ok…"

The princess finally got all of Finn's vitals hooked up and they started to go crazy. He was obviously alive but something was wrong.

HA: "Whoops! I almost forgot. Marceline you have to get away from Finn." He said as he rushed her out of the room.

M: "W-what?! No! I want to be near him until I have to leave!"

It all happened soo suddenly so Marceline was confused once again. Once she was out of the room, Finn's vitals started to calm down slightly but not by much.

M: "Why can't I be in there?"

HA: "Marcy, I hate to tell you this but with ancient Magic like that… the person that breaks the spell can't be near whoever was under the curse until their soul is returned. He's been alive for enough millennia to see almost everything. He was very knowledgeable with how magic and curses worked.

M: "I don't…understand…" She felt defeated.

HA: "Basically, until you return Finn's soul in two days, you have to stay away from him. I'm guessing it's because whatever you did to break the curse was exactly sacrificed like it was supposed to be. Whatever you used still exists in full force." He didn't know that love is what she used.

M: "B-but…"

HA: "I'm sorry, Marceline…"

The vampire queen didn't know what else to do so she left the Candy Kingdom. She was depressed and wanted to be alone until she was able to save Finn. That's all that was on her mind and she didn't care about anything else.

When she got back home, she realized that she hadn't been there for a while. Her bed was still a mess and everything was left exactly how it was the last time she was there. She went to her room and curled up on her bed like she used to before Finn found her and took her away from all of the pain and suffering in her life. And now that suffering returned.

When will it finally end?

How'd you guys like that one? Also I had a question and I was wondering what the consensus would be on it but... Do you guys think that this story is good to stay "T" rated or should it be raised to "M"? Someone brought up a very valid point.
