What happened last:

Marceline made her trip to Death's castle of light after yet even more sadness and being comforted by Bubblegum. Getting Finn's soul back from Death was surprisingly easier than the vampire queen would have guessed. Now she just needs reunite Finn with his soul.

Marceline sighed, took a deep breath and walked into Bubblegum's room.

She saw Princess Bubblegum, looking very distraught. She's been constantly working with her candy staff to help all of the wounded from the large battle that took place a few days ago. For the most part, everyone was ok except for Finn. He was pretty much the only one left in the Candy Kingdom that wasn't completely ok.

M: "Bubblegum, are you ok?"

PB: "Marcy! You're back." She sounded surprised and somehow didn't notice Marceline when she walked in.

M: "Yeah, it didn't take very long." She held out the soul stone.

PB: "Is that's a soul stone?" She's done extensive research on soul stones in the past so she knew exactly what it was.

M: "Yeah…" She was mostly speechless because she just wanted to save Finn and she knew that she had the solution in her hand.

PB: "I uh… can leave you alone for a bit so you can help Finn. I have a lot of stuff to do around the Kingdom anyway. Cinnamon Bun got hungry and ate a bunch of my science equipment again." She smirked.

M: "Yeah ok, PB."

It almost seemed as if Bubblegum tried to leave the room with haste but Marceline was probably just over thinking things.

The vampire queen walked up to Finn with the soul stone in hand. The room was quiet and the ambience was very peaceful.

M: "Oh, Finn… I'm sorry all this happened to you. I… I know that it's all my fault and if it wasn't for me you'd probably be at home right now with Jake doing whatever you guys usually do. And you wouldn't be all messed up like this and…" She didn't want to say anything else.

She blamed herself as always but knew that apologies wouldn't fix anything. She held the key to fixing Finn in her hand and didn't want to waste another moment.

She felt an oddly cool breeze come in through the window. It made the moment leading up to her breaking the soul stone feel almost cinematic for the vampire queen. She raised the stone in the air and then threw it on the ground. Instead of the stone shattering as Marceline would have expected, it bounced a little then rolled around on the ground.

M: "What the…?" She sounded irritated.

She picked the soul stone back up and prepared to throw it on the ground as hard as she could. She was getting tired of all of the problems that she's caused for Finn and she had a short moment where all of that frustration accumulated in her heart gave her extra strength.

She raised the orb in the air once again and slammed it down with much greater force than before. This time, the ball shattered like glass and the pieces quickly vanished out of thin air then Finn's soul came rushing out.

It looked like a wisp of light floating around, it didn't appear to look any different from any other soul but Marceline knew that it was him. She could feel it.

She watched and waited for Finn's soul to find its way back to its body of which was only about five feet away. It floated around the room as if it was lost. She kept watching it for a few moments and finally realized that it wasn't going to find its own way back. Something must have either gone wrong or his soul couldn't find its way back to its body because it was tainted with evil.

Marceline felt helpless and didn't know what else she could do. She felt like she wanted to cry again because of the frustration but she started to get angry. She was sick of everything messing up and not working out how she wanted. She glared and Finn's soul floating around aimlessly. It infuriated her.

She flew up to his soul and used her powerful vampire skills to grab the soul and force it back over to Finn's body. There was probably a more natural way to do this but Marceline didn't care, she was doing it how she knew. She didn't mess around with souls much but she still knew how, thanks to her father.

Her fingers had claws jutting out and she was using dark magic to force Finn's soul back in his body because it was the most potent type of magic. His soul didn't put up much of a fight and quickly reunited itself with Finn's body.

The angry vampire quickly calmed down when she saw that her efforts had probably succeeded. She was quiet for a few seconds until Finn began to react to his soul returning. He didn't have any sort of dramatic reaction; he just inhaled more deeply than he had recently and a bit of color started to return to his face.

His eyes clenched together as if he was in pain and his body began to shiver as if he was cold. His lips looked a bit blue.

Marceline looked around the room for a blanket. She wanted to lie next to him but she knew that she couldn't warm him up because her body produces more cold than heat. She got a blanket that was nearby and placed it over Finn, making sure to tuck it in around his body to warm him up as efficiently as possible.

She stopped what she was doing when she heard Finn try to talk but she couldn't quite hear what he said.

M: "Finn?"

F: "Why are you doing that?" He said in a raspy voice and then cleared his throat.

M: "Doing what?" She was very concerned.

F: "Tucking me in. If you don't like being tucked in then why are you doing it to me?" He smiled but his eyes remained closed.

M: "Oh Finn." She leaned in and hugged him tightly. She ignored what he just said because she knew that he was alive.

She hardly realized what she had just done. Not only did she break an ancient curse without using the normal methods, she also returned a soul to its body that was practically incompatible due to an imbalance of evil and good.

Her love for Finn was the fix for the curse and her anger was the fix for Finn's soul.

She hugged him for a few seconds until he freaked out.

F: "Ahhh!" He screamed and flailed randomly to get out of Marceline's grasp.

M: "Finn! What the he-" She was interrupted with a fist meeting with the left side of her face. She fell backwards and hit the ground.

F: "Maja!" He lunged forward at Marceline with his fist darting towards her face again.

The vampire queen easily caught it and got to her feet with his fist still in her hand. Finn was dangling and flailing around; trying to break free of Marceline's grasp. It was as if he didn't know where he was. He thought that he was still on the battlefield, fighting his enemies.

M: "Finn!" She tried to get his attention.

Finn didn't seem to hear her. His eyes looked empty and he kept struggling to break free from Marceline's hold.

The vampire queen didn't know what else to do. She noticed that she's experienced a lot of things recently that confused her and things that she didn't know how to deal with. She just reared her other hand back and slapped Finn in the face in attempt to maybe fix him.

When she hit him, he recoiled back, shook his head and calmed down.

M: "Finn?" She waited a few seconds.

Finn remained silent for a few more seconds then Marceline slapped him across the face once again. This time, she actually lost her grip on his hand because she hit him harder than she even expected. He fell down and hit the ground.

M: "Finn?!"

F: "Oww! Why did you slap me?" He said as he sat up and rubbed his cheek that had a red hand print on it.

M: "Is that actually you or is that crazy you?"

F: "Ummm… It's me? Why is there a crazy version of me?" He sounded generally confused and rubbed his cheek.

Marceline moved in to embrace Finn and knocked him backward in the process. She pressed her body completely against his and kissed him. She didn't want to stop kissing him but she had to; there were more important things to do. And besides… they could always pick back up on this later…

F: "Well… if I get this just for you slapping me then I wouldn't mind this more often…" He said jokingly.

M: "Oh, shut up."

She hugged him again and her cheek was pressed up against his. They had a calming moment together then Marceline talked about more serious matters.

M: "Soo… Finn."

F: "Yeah?"

M: "What's the last thing that you remember before now?"

F: "Well… I was fighting that army of the undead just like everyone else and I almost got to Maja and… That's where everything went dark… did something happen to me?"

M: "Yeah, Finn. Maja hit you with some crazy lightning bolt thing and…" Her voice trailed off.

F: "…And what?"

M: "Well… until pretty recently, we thought that you were dead. But it turns out that you were mostly alive, just without a soul."

F: "Ohhh..." He began to understand for the most part what happened.

M: "Yeah… so you've pretty much been a vegetable this whole time."

F: "Wait… how long have I been out?"

M: "Finn… you've been out for 27 years." She sounded completely serious.

F: "What?! Are you serious?!" He yelled in shock.

M: "No, not really. I was just kidding." She said in an almost monotonous tone.

Finn just gave her a confused and upset look. She was obviously playing with his head but he didn't notice it immediately.

M: "But seriously, you've been out for like three days."

F: "You're such a jerk, Marcy." He said jokingly.

M: "Yeah, I know. She wrapped one of her arms around him.

They talked a bit more and joked around together to bring up each other's spirits a bit. That lasted a few minutes until they noticed that they probably needed to be doing something either than joking around even though that's all they wanted to do.

M: "Soo uh… I guess we should see what PB's up to or something."

F: "Yeah, ok." Finn said and stood up to get ready to walk out of the room with Marceline. He started to follow her and became dizzy and almost fell over. He stumbled over to a nearby wall to support himself.

M: "Are you ok, Finn?" She smirked at him as she floated in the air.

F: "Y-yeah. I just got really dizzy." He said as he lightly pushed away from the wall, regaining his balance.

M: "Ok then. You're probably just dizzy from all of that crazy biz' that just happened to you."

F: "Yeah, probably. Let's just go find PB."

Marceline floated over and gave Finn a kiss on the forehead. Then they both walked through the hallways and found the princess tirelessly working in the hospital section of the candy castle. She was logging all of the information that was gathered from all of the patients and cleaning up everything from the massive amount of patients that they had to deal with in the past few days.

F: "Hey PB, what's goin' on?"

PB: "Finn!" She excitedly yelled, stopped what she was doing and rushed over to hug Finn.

F: "Oh yeah, right. I'm ok. Surprise!" He said jokingly.

M: "Yeah… the soul stone thing seemed to work pretty well. At least, I think it did." She shrugged her shoulders and smiled.

PB: "That's awesome, Marcy. Oh and… now that you're both here, we need to have a meeting later on about this whole "war" thing. Jake already knows and he'll be there too."

F: "Jake! Princess, where's Jake right now? I need to let him know that I'm alright."

PB: "I told him that he could should go back home about two days ago. He told me that he was gonna stay with Lady Rainicorn for a couple days… or was it a few? Eh, I can't remember. But he should be back home b-"

F: "What?! PB, the difference between a few and a couple is a huge deal. I mean… he could be anywhere! What if I never find him!?" He was overreacting for no reason and sounded kind of ridiculous in the process.

PB: "Ummm… I'll just call him then." She said calmly as she took out her seldom used phone.

F: "Oh…" He felt a bit dumb for overreacting.

Marceline just giggled at Finn acting weird as he always had. It was refreshing for her to see him act as if he was back to normal.

After the phone rang a few times, a voice was heard.

PB: "Hello? Jake?"

BMO: "Jake… Jake…! JAKE!"

J: "WHAT?!" HE could be heard in the distance.

BMO: "Someone's on the phone!"

J: "Yeah, I know! I'll be there in a sec!"

BMO: "Jaaaaaaaake!" Beemo was acting very annoying.

J: "Hold on! I'm-" His words were cut off by the loud sound of objects crashing and Jake falling down. He was in such a hurry that he became careless.

A few seconds of silence passed by, followed by the soft sound of footsteps getting closer.

J: "H-hello?" He sounded like he was in a bit of pain.

PB: "Jake, what are you up to?"

J: "Nothing really. Just getting something to eat before that big meeting."

PB: "Oh, ok so-"

J: "Are you gonna ask what I'm wearing now?"

PB: "Wait… what…? Oh, ha ha." She laughed sarcastically at his silly question.

J: "But seriously, I'm not really doing anything right now. Why? What's up?"

PB: "Well, if you want, you can show up to the meeting early. There's someone who wants to talk to you."

J: "Ugh… is it the bellhop from that hotel in the Nightosphere? Cause I already told that guy that I already have Lady…"

PB: "No… uh… it's someone much more important."

J: "Is Finn…?"

F: "Hi Jake!" He yelled.

The phone on Jake's end went silent as if he dropped the phone.

F: "He'll be here in like 32 seconds." He said then conceitedly crossed his arms.

Everyone looked around the room, trying to hear some sort of notion that Jake was on his way. Bubblegum just stared at her watch.

And just as Finn predicted, Jake arrived exactly 31.8 seconds after he finished his sentence.

PB: "Wow… that's pretty impressive, Finn."

F: "Yeah, I know." He put his hands on his hips, feeling content with himself.

J: "Buddy! You're alive!" He lunged towards Finn and wrapped his arms around him.

F: "Yeah, man. Marcy fixed me up."

J: "Dude… I was soo worried that you were gonna croak."

F: "Nah man. I think I still got a few more years before that. So… how's Lady?"

J: "Eh… she got hurt a bit after the big fight but she's ok now. The kids actually came down to see how she was doing and they're taking good care of her now."

F: "That's good to know man."

PB: "Soo uh… I don't want to interrupt this moment between you two but we got some pretty important stuff to talk about."

F: "Ok. So lay it on us, P Bubs."

PB: "Let's go to the war room to talk about this stuff. I'd rather not have anyone eavesdrop on this conversation that's not supposed to hear it…" She almost sounded paranoid.

F: "Ok, Princess."

Finn, Jake and Marceline Followed Princess Bubblegum to the secret war room where they go to discuss important things that they need to talk about without anyone else finding out. It's one of the only places that Bubblegum can go to think about things. Normally she uses this room to think about legitimate things and make images or charts to help her visualize some sort of idea or solution to a problem; but recently she's used it to reflect on things.

When they entered, they saw the large round table in the center of the room with a hologram projector in the center, displaying a map of Ooo. The entire room looked more futuristic than anything else that they've ever seen before. There were powerful looking machines, computers and various other things that Bubblegum has worked on and developed over the years.

F: "Whoa… is that Ooo?" He was astonished by the very detailed hologram of Ooo.

PB: "Yes, Finn. It's a very detailed three dimensional map combining topographical data as well as digital terrain analysis."

Finn was speechless and wide eyed; this technology was almost overwhelming.

J: "So what exactly do you need to tell us PB?" He tried his best to play it cool and not seem too amazed by Bubblegum's technology.

M: "Yeah, Bonnibel. What's soo important that you need us to talk in here? I mean, we've talked about some pretty sensitive stuff before and we were just out and about in the castle."

PB: "Well, as it should seem apparent to all of you, there is a much higher chance of threat against the Candy Kingdom."

J: "Well yeah. An army attacked like three days ago." He almost sounded sarcastic.

PB: "Yes. And because of that I've raised the kingdom's readiness to DEFCON 2. It may seem drastic, but from the data that I collected after Maja's army retreated…" She fell silent.

F: "What, PB?"

PB: "…I fear that they will attack much sooner than we think. Or maybe they won't. That's the problem. I don't know." She sounded very distraught.

M: "Hmmm… Even you don't know? That really is a problem."

PB: "All I really know is that they left and traveled in one direction. The magical signal faded away and I lost all traces of it around this location." She said as she pointed to a random point close to the Ice Kingdom.

PB: "I believe that they've traveled beyond Ice King's normal area and they're regrouping far in the north."

M: "So… we could ask Simon if he's seen anything, right?"

PB: "Maybe... But with magic like Maja's, she could have done something to help her entire army go unnoticed."

J: "Mhmm… Well, that's annoying." He sounded upset.

PB: "Yeah… It's very annoying indeed. And knowing this… or not knowing this I should say… We need to figure out what Maja's doing right now so we can figure out how to counter whatever she's planning on doing. Because honestly, I don't have a clue. So...?"

The room fell silent when Bubblegum's question ended. Everyone was aware of the very real threat. Maja was terrifyingly powerful and often unpredictable. What makes matters worse is that it's now very much known that Maja can take someone down with a single hit. Marceline was able to bring back Finn but how many more times would she be able to do that if even at all?

Who would step up to this life threatening task?

So, after being delayed for a bit. Here's Ch. 63. I was going to post it yesterday but some people were spamming Korean stuff so I decided to wait. Anyway, here it is. Enjoy. :p
