Basket Forty-Six: Girl's Day Out
OoOoO
Kira had kept true to her word and she had appeared at her house with Mikurei in tow on the weekend.
Due to her mother still being in a good mood, she had let her go out with her friends. Although, technically, Kuroi only called one of them a friend.
But, she was beginning to warm up to Kira, despite what previously happened in between the two of them. As long as she didn't try to pull any weird stuff again, then they might just become friends.
Currently, the three of them were walking towards the mall near Kuroi's house. The one that she always used to frequent (so she could change from her boy uniform to her girl uniform).
Kira, the tallest of the three was walking ahead of them, while Mikurei and Kuroi walked side by side. The blond brushed her hair over her shoulder as she turned to face Kuroi, giving her a look. "You still look like a boy. Just wearing a skirt." Kira laughed, ruffling Kuroi's short hair. Kuroi rolled her eyes and swatted Kira's hand away, huffing in annoyance.
"You're the one who told me to dress as I was born." She replied.
"Wouldn't that be naked?" Mikurei spoke up, arching her eyebrow. Kuroi paused and gave it some thought.
"Actually, yes." She smirked in amusement. "And, no thank you, I don't want to walk around naked." Mikurei smiled and Kira was next to roll her eyes.
"Yeah, okay." The third year shot back. "Are there any good shops in this mall?" She asked, changing the subject.
Kuroi thought about it, realizing that even though she always went there, she never really paid any attention to all the stores there. "Mm, a few. I guess." She shrugged, still not too sure.
Kira paused, and Kuroi had to stop as well before nearly crashing into the older girl. "By good I mean spectacular." Kira confirmed, smirking.
"Thanks for clearing that up." Kuroi replied dryly, eyes boring into the back of Kira's head. Out of the corner of her eye, Kuroi noticed Mikurei shake her head at Kira probably in amusement, or annoyance.
"Why did you even want to hang out with me?" Kuroi asked, not missing the way Kira froze for a second. She went to look at Mikurei for an answer, but the amber eyed girl also stood still for a few seconds before recollecting herself and proceeding with their walk to the mall.
"..." Kuroi narrowed her eyes at the silence and crossed her arms over her chest. 'What's going on here...?'
OoOoO
Ten minutes later the trio stood in front of the mall. "So, what do you want to do first?" Kuroi asked, looking in between the two girls.
"Go shopping!"
"See a movie."
Mikurei and Kira had both answered at the same time. They turned and glared at each other briefly before looking back to Kuroi for the deciding answer.
"Uh, err... Well, let's just go check movie times, I guess. Depending on what movie and what time it's at, we could either go shopping before or after?" The answer seemed acceptable for the two girls and they nodded before swiftly entering through the mall's north entrance.
"What do you want to do, Kuroi?" Mikurei asked, offering Kuroi a small smile.
Kuroi hummed and thought about the options. "I don't-..." She trailed off, seeing one of those mall maps on. The black haired girl made a bee line for it and her eyes scanned over the huge list of all the shops and other things that were located in the mall. "Oh! There's a sports store in here?" She questioned with a grin.
Kira rolled her eyes again and sighed, putting her hand on her hip. "Seriously? Do you always have basketball on the brain?" She asked.
Kuroi paused and went silent, her grin disappearing. Mikurei, sensing her friend's change of aura, shot Kira a look before patting Kuroi's shoulder gently. "We can go check it out." The dark blue haired girl said.
"I guess." Kuroi sighed. "Anyways, first let's just go check the movie theater." With one last look at the map, the girls headed towards the west side of the mall where the theater was at.
OoOoO
"What should we see?" Kuroi asked, turning her vision away from the list of playing movies. "I kinda wanna see the Amazing Spider-Man 2."
"Transcendence." Mikurei spoke quietly, staring at the red-lighted movie title. Kira scoffed at both their choices, putting her hands on her hips.
"Those movies sound stupid. I mean, really? Comic book movie, Kuroi?"
"Hey. Spider-Man is cool." Kuroi shot back, sticking her tongue out. "As much as I hate to ask, Kira, what do you wanna see?"
Kira overlooked the current titles again and tsked. "The movie I originally wanted to see isn't playing here, but I guess Divergent will do."
"None of us wanna see the same movie... How about we all just pick one none of us really want to see?"
"That's stupid." Kira huffed.
"What about... Haunted House 2?" Mikurei suggested, pointing to the image of a woman sitting in a chair looking rather ominous. Kuroi froze and stared at it, while Kira just raised her eyebrow.
"I haven't even seen the first." She replied. Kuroi nodded slowly. "Y- Yeah. I think we better choose a different one.. heh... heh..." She trailed off, watching the blond and the blue haired girls exchange looks before smiling. "Great..." Kuroi mumbled dryly, remembering how her previous experience with watching scary movies went.
"Oh, look," Kira pointed, causing the two girls' heads to follow where her finger was pointing. "The movie starts in ten minutes. What luck." She smirked.
OoOoO
"That was horrible..." Kuroi murmured, hugging herself. She was still spooked from watching the movie, a slight twitch in her eye. Kira cackled at her expense and patted her shoulder in mock-comfort.
"Don't worry, Kuroi. I'll be sure to rent the first movie sometime." That caused the third year to laugh some more and Kuroi's shoulders drooped at that.
"No thanks." She replied, pouting softly. The black haired girl looked to Mikurei, who simply shrugged with a small smile on her face. "Count me out." Kuroi said, quickly walking ahead of the two. "Anyways, I decided that we're going to go to that sports store first. Since you two made me watch that scary thing."
Mikurei nodded, "Okay."
"I guess that's reasonable." Kira agreed, albeit begrudgingly.
OoOoO
"Okay. Seriously. We've been to practically every store here. Can we please go now?" Kuroi asked in a begging tone. If Kira were to ask her to get on her knees, then Kuroi would consider it. She would.
Thankfully, the third year did no such thing and she agreed. "I'm tired anyway. Besides..." The blond trailed off, glancing at her cellphone. Mikurei pulled her own out and seemed to text someone before putting it back in her pocket.
Kuroi looked away, wondering which way the exit was, before looking back to the two girls behind her. "So, I guess-..." She trailed off, blinking. Mikurei and Kira were whispering to each other, until they realized they had been caught.
Kira cleared her throat and marched on ahead of them while Mikurei just kept her gaze lowered to the ground. Kuroi watched them as they began their journey back to her house, silently wondering what was going on. The black haired girl sighed and decided not to dwell on it any longer as the three of them left the mall.
OoOoO
Did Kuroi ever have a 'girl's day out'? I can't remember... *shot* All I remember is that she had one with the guys. xD Was it twice?... I should really re-read my own story lol.
Also, out of those four movies, I only saw Transcendence. It was interesting ouob I still wanna see Spider-Man, though *u*
