Half a minute later I am stood on top of what seems like the tallest building in the city.

'What the hell is this?" I shout trying to make myself heard over the sound of the whipping wind.

"Ziplining, hope you're not scared of heights." Tris smirks, pointing over to where a Dauntless member is being pushed off the top of the roof, into the black nothingness below.

"Is that even safe?" I gasp looking apprehensively over the edge of the building.

"Not really but this is Dauntless, what is safe?" Tris laughs wandering over to where a bigger version of Uriah has him in headlock.

"Alright Zeke calm it down, we don't want any deaths." She grins freeing Uriah from his grasp.

"That Four's sister?" Zeke gestures over to me, a conspiring grin oh so similar to Uriah's on his face.

Tris nudges him in the side. "Don't be rude Pedrad. But yeah this is Jane."

"Couldn't persuade him to come then?"

"Zeke he's been around for four years, if he wanted to come then he would've already. " Tris snaps.

"Alright Trissy, calm down. Four's a big boy he can defend himself."

Tris gives Zeke the finger before marching me up to the harness. "Jane is going now." She says firmly to the older Dauntless man strapping people into the harness.

"Four's sister?" He asks surveying me up and down.

"How does everyone know?" I ask exasperatedly throwing my arms up into the air.

"Word travels fast around here, especially when its about someone like Four. He's a dauntless legend you know? You got a lot to live up to kiddo." He laughs fastening the harness around me, tight enough to stop my blood circulation.

"Remember to pull the brake at the end." He lifts up a small metallic oval, to show me. "No seriously if you don't thats the end of initiation for you, unless you can fight with four broken limbs." He winks before pushing me off the edge of the high rise building.

The world pulls out from under my body, defying gravity and leaving me sailing through the air like the most graceful bird. Underneath me people are just insignificant specks of colour, and buildings wosh past too quickly for me to register. This is what it feels like to be truly free.

I allow my arms to spread as if I am dependant on wings, and the cool nights air rushes through my fingers leaving them numb from cold. Wind smacks me on the face, leaving cruel red marks on each of my cheeks and burning my nostrils as it sails up them.

Suddenly my entire body jolts up and I am whizzing all too quickly down steeply set wire, my body jerking this way and that.

And then just as quickly as the skyscraper disappeared, a tall graffiti covered wall appears in front of me, and my body straightens up and begins to slow down.

I fumble behind me, trying to grab onto the metal handle hanging above the small of my back, but as I try to grasp it my adrenaline filled body shakes, and my sweaty palms slip of the smooth handle.

A few precious seconds later I manage to get a proper grip on the handle, and I yank it as hard as I can, the little muscle I have in my arms straining as I force my body to a halt a few dangerous centimeters away from the large concrete wall that would have broken all my bones.

Suddenly cheers erupt from beneath me, and I notice the crowd of rowdy Dauntless jumping up and down under my feet, their screams deafening. This is why I choose Dauntless, not because of Toby, not just to get away from Marcus, but because I really and truly belong here. Now all I've got to do is prove it.

I return to the dorm just before sunrise and I know I've missed my chance to catch any more shut eye.

In fact I have just enough time to slip under the covers and fake restfulness before Tobias comes barging in yelling at the top if his lungs. "Breakfast in 5!"

Next to me Claudia pops up from her bed bleary eyed, and messy haired. "Where did you piss off to last night?" She groans, probably still half asleep.

"To see Tris and my brother, I see you had a wild night." I snort.

"If you call getting woken up at 12:00 to play paintball wild, then yes it was."

I poke my tongue out at her and drag myself out of my almost perfectly made bed. Watching as she dramatically rolls her eyes, and follows suit.

10 minutes later we are sat at a breakfast table with Richie, Scott and Lily. "Last night was so sweet, we absolutely trashed them!" Richie laughs a mouthful of bacon revealing itself to the rest of the table.

"Ugh Richie you're so gross man." Lily rolls her eyes and slaps her boyfriend on the arm. "It was pretty sick though." She grins as an after thought.

A second later a sweet looking girl with long brown hair pulled back into a tight ponytail makes her way over to the five of us. "Hey." She smiles sitting down comfortably next to Lily.

"Marley! How did it feel to get kicked to the dirt last night?" Scott laughs stealing a piece of muffin of her tray.

I feel a completely unwarranted pang of jealousy inside me, at the flirtatious tone of his voice.

Marley shots hima 'shut the hell up look' before turning to Claudia and I. "Hey you're Jane right? Four's little sister, I'm Marley." She smiles extending her hand to me and Claudia in turn.

"Claudia." My best friend interjects beaming at the Dauntless born, who smiles politely in reply.

"Transfers! Training Room in 3 minutes!" My brothers boom cuts of any further conversation between us, which is something thats happens more commonly than you might expect.

Ok so it's been years and years since my last update, and this chapter is really short. :(

I'm so sorry schools started again, and my teachers have given me a shit ton of homework and between that and clubs after school I've just been really busy. Mix that with a major case of writer's block and a bit of laziness and you get a lack of updates. Sorry. :)

Love you guys loads, please review :)
