"That was brutal," I huff wiping sweat away from my forehead as we pile noisily out of the training room.

"I'm starting to wish I'd chosen Amity." Claudia laughs back at me, her breaths coming out in short, sharp bursts, as her heaving lungs struggle for air.

"How much longer of this is there again?" Michael, an equally exhausted Candor, chips in hearing the end of the conversation as he exits the training room behind us.

"2 weeks," I groan only half to my companions.

The Candor pulls a disgusted face before disappearing into the throng of noisy Dauntless, who seem to have descended upon us.

"Oh balls," I mutter pulling out my brothers phone from where it sits in my pocket, from when I borrowed it for a game this morning. "I forgot to give it back."

"You better go and find him then, hadn't you?" Claudia laughs spotting our Dauntless born friends across the crowd of people. "See you later." She sings slipping away towards them.

I turn back on myself, wandering down the grey corridors in the direction of the control rooms, where I'm sure my brother will be.

When I reach the cold metal door, I rap on it twice, to alert Tobias before pushing my way in.

The control room is lined floor to ceiling with screens, buttons and switches, but the hard plastic chair in the corner is empty.

"Four?" I call stepping into the dimly lit room. "I've got your phone."

On a small square table in the back of the room a small silver laptop sits open, a blue memory stick poking invitingly out if it, as if the person on duty left only a for a moment.

My Mothers voice rings through my head as I reach forward to pluck the stick from the computer and slide it into my pocket. Then with a shifty glance around room I exit the control room trying to ignore the burning guilt settling in my stomach.

The entire way back to my dorm the memory stick sits like a brick in my pocket, reminding me what I've done.

"Traitor," I voice jeers and I whiz around before I realise it was me.

I'm not a traitor I'm helping my Mother I try weakly to assure myself. I could ask Tobias to help me of course but I know he wouldn't, and he wouldn't let me out of his sight either.

When I reach the dorm I shove the stick under my matress and try to compose myself. 'No one saw, you're fine. Just calm down.'

"Hey! You find him?" Claudia enters the dorm noisily as usual.

"Who?"

"Four? You had his phone?" She stares at me in confusion like I'm some sort of idiot.

I'd completely forgotten about the small smartphone in my panic to hide the memory stick.

"Oh! No I couldn't find him, I'll give it back at dinner." I smile trying to fight the rush of blood warming my cheeks.

"Right OK, well I was just going there now, if you're ready?" She eyes me suspiciously before, forcing a grin onto her face.

"Yeah sure, sorry." I blush again, duck my head and follow Claudia out of the door.

"I believe you have something that belongs to me." A husky voice echoes directly into my ear.

My entire body stiffens and the blood rushing through me runs icy cold all of a sudden. 'I've been caught.'

But as I turn it is my brothers, not a Dauntless leaders face behind me. "Oh Four, yeah sorry." I blush for what feels like the billionth time this afternoon, before fishing the smartphone out of my pocket and pushing it into my brothers calloused hand.

He smirks, casts a wink in Claudia's direction and saunters off to to a rather exasperated Tris, who stands waiting on the other side of the dining room.

"See you later then." I call after him sarcastically. "What a plonker." I turn back to my best friend sitting across from me st the table.

She merely grins before turning red faced to her pudding.

"Hi guys." A sing song voice echoes behind me. Marley.

"Hey, how was training." I ask shuffling along the bench to make from for her.

"It was ok, I'm the worst there though. I don't know if I'm going to make it in if i'm honest." She shrugs nonchalantly, but behind a sheen fear clouds her blue eyes.

"It'll be fine, honest. You don't know how bad some of the transfers are." I laugh easing some of the tension which has landed at the table.

"Yeah, it will be." She mutters turning back to her dish. "It's always fine."

Its 12 o'clock that night when I finally find a chance to use the payphone in the hall, to tell Evelyn what I have, and the entire Dauntless compound is silent save for the occasional thump from the guards on their night duty.

I slip behind a wall, concealing myself from the passing guard before tiptoeing down the corridor to the phone.

My heart beats loud enough for the naked ear to pick up, and my hands tremble slightly at the consequences of getting caught giving confidential information to the factionless, but I force myself to focus as I slide three 20ps into the slot and grabbing the receiver.

The phone rings three times before a hushed voice answers on the other side.

"What?"

"It's Jane, I have something."

A small gasp leaves my Mother, and I can almost hear her straightening on the other end of the phone. "Yes?"

"I managed to slip a memory stick. I don't know what's on it, but it could be helpful?"

"Yes. I'm sure it will be just bring it round whenever you can. You know the way yes?"

But before I can reply, she's gone leaving only a dial tone of white noise in her wake.

"Yep." I mutter aimlessly, gently stowing the phone in it's holder, and slipping back through the night.

I'm so sorry, I'm getting gradually worse at this whole updating thing, and I am so so so so sorry.

I will try my hardest to be quicker next time! Thanks for your patience you guys rock, see you soon….
