Chapter 28

When Toshiro was about asleep he heard Karin say ' Sorry Toshiro but this fight is mine and even if I die. I hope that you know that I love you and that is why I wanted to spend the night with you. I hope you don't get mad at me. I really love you.' Toshiro felt Karin's head move over to his chest and went to sleep. Toshiro hugged Karin and went to sleep with her but before he went to sleep he promised that he will make sure that she will live and that she can fight the guy by herself but he will help in another way.

The next morning when Toshiro got up Karin wasn't with him. He got out of bed and started to head down stairs to the kitchen hoping that she was in there and didn't leave without him. When he was in the kitchen he didn't see her but he did see a note that was on the table. He walked over there and picked up the note and started to read it.

Dear Toshiro

I hope that you don't get mad at me, but I went ahead and left for the world of the living so I could kill the guy. I left at around 5:30 in the morning so I am probably long gone by the time you read this. When you come you might want to bring some one with good healing ability because I have a feeling that I am going to get really hurt during this fight. I want you to know that this is my fight and don't even think of helping me with this fight and you can only fight the guy when I am dead. I have the best time with you here in the soul society and I am glad I could be with you all this time. I want you to know that if I do die is that I love you and always will love you. I hope that you love me as well and that there is no one that I would rather spend my life with than you. If you die and find someone you truly love then please make her happy unless you are gay then he. I love you Toshiro but before I die if I am not already die please try and hurry so I see the face of the person I love before I die.

Toshiro was angry but mostly worried that Karin could be dead or almost dead and he was blaming himself on why he didn't wake up earlier so he could have a better chance of saving her. The first thing he has to do is tell someone with very good healing ability to come with him to the world of the living. Then he will make sure he gets there as fast as possible and keep his promise and did she really think that he would love any one other than her. Toshiro flashed stepped as fast as he could to squad four barracks.

Karin on the other hand has only just found the guy that had attacked her and the weird thing was is that he was in the same place as when she first found him. She has been fighting him for around 30 minutes and Karin was hurt but only one kind of server wound and she knows she has hurt him some because he was slower and has been losing his strength. Karin was in her shikai whose name is Phoenix. Karin's sword looks like Ichigo's bankia but has a longer chain and can throw fireballs and when the sword cuts a line in the ground the line will become a wall of fire.

Karin was happy because she might actually have a chance of winning but if she didn't win she wanted to know who killed her. That was just one of her missions but it was the main one at the second.

"Who are you? What is your name?" Karin asked when they crashed swords.

"There is only one way you are going to find who I am and that is if you can pull off my cape." He said and they broke. Karin was about to attack again when he just randomly flashed stepped far away and lowed his stance. Karin looked around and then realized that he would fight her if he knew someone was going to also fight him. Karin was also happy that she was able to see Toshiro here and that gave her more strength.

"If you are worried that he will attack you while we are fighting then I can tell you he won't fight you until I am dead." Karin said turning to the guy and she really needed a better name than 'the guy'.

"I want to hear it from him not you." The guy said turning to Toshiro. Toshiro turned to Karin and remembered the letter and then turned back to the guy.

"No one will fight you until Karin is dead and trust me that first person is me and you will die from my hand if you aren't already dead by then." Toshiro said with venom coming out of every word.

"I don't believe you." He said and Karin was getting angry.

"Fine." Karin throw he sword at the ground to create a line where a big wall of fire formed. "How is that?"

"Thank you now I know I will be fighting only you since you are the only one I want to fight." Then he came straight for her. Karin knew that she had to end this fight fast the wound she got early was really starting to hurt.

"BANKIA AKANE PHOENIX!" Karin screamed and then a big burst of spiritual pressure came from around her. Once you could see through the spiritual pressure Karin had wings of fire and the sleeves to her shoulders are no longer there but instead the chain that was on the sword are raped around her arms.

Karin sent one of the chains that were on her arms to grow and attack him. He dodge it but Karin sent fire balls him twice as fast as when she is in shikai. She flew towards him and cut his chest and was bleeding pretty bad and he just laughed. Then he stabbed her in her other side but before he toke his sword out of her she was able to take off his cape. The person in front of her surprised her the most.

"Dad." Karin said looking shocked and he just smiled at her.

"You did very good job honey, you pass my test." Then he toke he sword out of her. Karin was about to fall down to the ground but he caught her and landed safely on the ground. He started to heal her wounds that he caused.

"Why?" Karin asked as he final let her sword go back to is original state.

"I wanted you to be able to protect your self and to be able to fight with your power since it was dormant all this time but I would never have killed you. You are my daughter after all and you will always be mine." Isshin said with a smile.

"Thank you dad." With that Karin passed out.

Toshiro saw the wall of fire go drown and Toshiro was looking all over for Karin. When he saw that Isshin had Karin in his arms Toshiro ran right over there.

"What happened to that guy and is Karin okay?" Toshiro asked in a panic.

"It's okay. Karin will be fine I would never actually kill her." Isshin said laughing a little. Toshiro was confused at what he said and looked at him.

"What do you mean that you would never actually kill her? Are you that caped guy?" Toshiro asked looking angry.

"Well I was him and I only did it to make sure she would learn about her power and that I know she would be safe in case a hollow or something came for her and she wouldn't use a soccer ball all the time." Isshin said looking at him.

"What do you mean? She has been getting attacked and has been protecting her self with a mere soccer ball?"

"Yes and that was just to dangerous for her so I thought this might be the best way."

"I do have to agree with you on that but why didn't she tell that she was getting attacked? You also do know that she said that if she would make it out of this fight alive then she would become a captain of the thirteen court squads, right?"

"WHAT?! She never told me that." Isshin yield.

"Yes and she would be living at the soul society but she is able to come back here anytime she wants and I have a feeling it will be a lot."

"Well then that is different if she can come back at anytime. Now when how is your relationship going?" Isshin asked with a grin. Toshiro was blushing at the comment.

"What are you talking about?" Toshiro asked.

"Oh come on you really didn't think I would notice when you would sneak into my house?"

"Well we hoped you didn't notice and it is going good."

"Well I am just guessing that you don't just like but love her am I right?" Toshiro was just blushing so much at this comment.

"Yes." Toshiro said at pretty much a whisper.

"So when are you going to ask her? Oh and I hope it is soon my son is getting nowhere and I want grandchildren." Toshiro was blushing like crazy but just then a member of squad four came running towards them.

"I am here to help." He said.

"Then can you take over what I am doing? I am not the best at healing." Isshin asked the member looked at Karin and nodded his head and started healing.

"I think we need to get her to squad four barracks in the soul society because I can only do some much and I won't be able to heal it all." The member said. Toshiro nodded his head and turned to Isshin.

"Are you coming too?" Toshiro asked and Isshin looked horrified at what he said.

"You think I would leave my daughter when she looks like this?" Isshin asked looking like he was about to cry.

"Okay then lets go." Toshiro opened the door to the soul society and Isshin carried Karin in his arms. When they got there they ran straight to squad four barracks.

"Captain Unohana can you heal Karin?" Toshiro asked when they came into the barracks and Unohana just looked at Karin then she became worried.

"Yes of course. I can see why you wanted someone from here to go to the world of the living now. Follow me so we can get her in a room." She said and started to walk away.

Unohana walked into a room and Isshin put Karin in the bed and Toshiro was happy that Karin had the room all to herself. Another reason is if she shared a room then the other person would know that he never left her side.

"Will you please stay out while I am healing her? I have to change her clothes and some of the wounds are pretty bad." Unohana said this with her smile and we left even though I wanted to stay by Karin's side I couldn't because anybody knows not to mess with Captain Unohana.

They waited for a few hours out side of Karin's room then Captain Unohana finally came out. She came out with a smile on her face.

"Karin will be fine but who ever did this is strong and it's a good thing she was brought here. Did she kill the person?" Unohana asked nicely.

"Yes she did. May we go in and see her?" Toshiro asked looking a little angry.

"Yes but she probably isn't going to wake up for a day or so." With that Captain Unohana left to go help other people. Before Toshiro went in the room he sent a glare at Isshin. Isshin on the other hand just shrugged it off and walked into the room with Toshiro.

Karin was on the bed covered with a blanket so that even if she did have clothes on you couldn't see anything.

Isshin and Toshiro sat in silence of hours watching Karin and it was starting to get very late.

"While I have to go home. I told Yuzu I would be gone for a while but I said I would be there for dinner. I tell Karin I was here alright." Isshin said and started walking to the door.

"Sure." Toshiro said and Isshin was gone. It was starting to get really late and Toshiro was really tired. He decided that he would lay his head down for a few minutes. Toshiro accidently fell asleep on the side of Karin's bed.

Karin woke up in the middle of the night to find Toshiro asleep on the side of the bed. Karin was laughing at how cute Toshiro looked when he is asleep then she smiled at him. Karin started to brush Toshiro's hair.

Toshiro felt something brushing his hair. He opened his eyes and turned to Karin and saw Karin smiling at him.

"You know you look really cute when you are asleep." Karin said smiling bigger and laughing a little. Toshiro looked shocked.

"Karin how long have you been up?" Toshiro asked.

"Oh don't worry I have only been up for 10 to 15 minutes and all that time I have been watching you." Karin laughed and Toshiro was blushing.

"Your dad was here until he had to go home and eat dinner with Yuzu he told me to tell you that and are you feeling any better?" Toshiro asked looking to see if he saw her in any pain.

"I am feeling better, thank you. But you know what would make me feel even better?" Karin asked with a grin on her face.

"What would that be?" Toshiro asked confused.

"A kiss from the only person I love." Karin said still grinning.

"I wonder who that would be. Oh wait do you want me to go get your brother or do…" Toshiro was cut off with a kiss from Karin. Toshiro didn't really care and happily kissed her back with just as much force.

A few months have pasted since Karin had fought her battle. She was now a captain of squad 5, even though Ichigo wasn't that happy with her becoming a captain but once he heard the conditions then he was happy. Karin was on the way to Toshiro's house since she still stays at his house most of the time. Toshiro had been pretty protective of her for a few weeks but then stopped being that protective and Karin would start to yell at him and he hated when she was mad at him.

Karin at Toshiro's front door and had just opened it with her key when he heard him talking to what sounded like her brother.

"So when are you going to ask her? It is really big and I see how the other guys look at her even if she is your girlfriend they will still look at her." Ichigo said. Karin hides behind the door and was trying really hard to hide her spiritual pressure.

"I know that's why I was protective of her. I was planning of asking her tonight." Toshiro sounded kind of sad.

"Hey you have to have confidence in your self if you are going to ask her?" Ichigo said and you could hear him patting Toshiro's back.

"Yea your right." Toshiro said sounding a little happier.

"You were going to ask me what?" Karin said coming in from around the corner. Ichigo and Toshiro looked over to Karin and looked shocked. Ichigo was the first one out of shock.

"I should have known Karin would have done something like this. Well I will leave you two be." Ichigo said leaving the two of them be only.

"So what are you going to ask me?" Karin asked looking confused at Toshiro. Toshiro was blushing like crazy.

"Oh it is um…?" Toshiro was looking really nervous.

"Toshiro if there is anything you want to talk about you know that I am always here right." Karin said walking up to him and looking up at him in the eyes. Toshiro put his arms around Karin's waist and looking into her eyes.

"I know that. Well you want to know what I was going to ask you?" Toshiro said leaning down towards Karin.

"Yes, I do." Karin said confidently looking at Toshiro. Toshiro got down on one knee. Karin put her hands over her mouth.

"Karin will you marry me?" Toshiro asked looking into Karin's eyes lovingly. Toshiro opened a ring-box with a diamond ring in it.

"Yes!" Karin yelled at him and jump into his arms. Toshiro pulled away and kissed Karin with passion and love. They pulled away for air.

"Are you happy that I asked you? I was going to ask you at dinner tonight but you really wanted me to ask you so I did." Toshiro said looking in her eyes with a little grin.

"Yes I am really glad because if you think that guys only look at me but a lot of girls look at you and now I am glad I will be the only woman in your life like this." Karin said smiling really big.

"You know for you to be the only woman like that you have to put on the ring." Toshiro said smiling at her holding the box open towards her.

"You should put the ring on." Karin whispered into his ear. Toshiro pulled the ring out of the box and put it on her ring finger.

"You are the only woman I will ever love and don't forget that." Toshiro pulled Karin into a kiss.
