Chapter 7

Plans

"You have to tell me," I begged. "I need to know how you guys became what you are right now. Paul said that you two didn't get along at all. And now you're expecting a baby in a few months! What changed?"

I was currently sitting on my knees as I implored Seth and Luka to tell me a little of their history. Seth was currently sitting on Luka's lap, both of them in a beach chair. Every single pack was enjoying the heat of the day as they lazed about the beach, some of them in their wolf forms.

It's been three days since Sam and I had talked on the beach that night. And during that time, I've made doubly sure to steer clear of both him and Paul, needing a little space in order to think out my future. I have basically decided to neglect my former feelings of contempt. I no longer saw the need to fight it anymore. I felt like I was being mentally and emotionally ripped in half.

In the past three days, I have been seeking refuge in Embry's, Quil's, or Seth's presence. But in the process, I've been noticing Embry's distractions. I didn't quite understand what was going on, but I knew that if he felt he was in danger he would tell me, so I wasn't too concerned.

As I sought out Seth's company, I quickly learned just how great a person he was. He was a little kid at heart, a puppy. I grew to really like him, and I knew that if I decided to join Paul's pack, we would grow even closer. As I learned and shared things with Seth, I was able to get to know Luka as well, as he was never too far away from his mate. And as I watched them together, saw how protective and utterly caring he was towards Seth, it led me back to my initial question.

Seth giggled as he snuggled into Luka's tight embrace. I watched in amazement as the dominate wolf pressed a kiss to his mate's temple.

"See? Like that! What happened to cause such a change in attitude?"

Seth glanced over his shoulder as Luka, a cute smile on his cherubic face. His brows lifted in a silent question, and with a slight nod from his dominate, he turned back to me.

"Okay, Jake, we'll tell you a little about how we met, since you asked so kindly." "And who knows, maybe it well help in your decision," Luka finished.

I smiled and settled myself down, ready to listen to every word that was going to be said.

"Well, it started three years ago, when I first joined the pack…"

FLASHBACK

"He's looking at you again," my sister, Leah, said with a smirk.

I rolled my eyes and groaned. "Stop looking at him," I snapped as I swatted her arm. "You're only encouraging him further."

Leah laughed, causing me to bury my head into my palms, wanting nothing more to disappear as my new pack brothers looked our way.

"I think it's cute that you've joined the pack just three days ago and you've already caught the eye of a dominate. You're just too cute," she cooed as she pinched my cheek. I swatted her arm again and scowled.

"It's not cute, Leah," I growled at her. "I can't stand him. And you encouraging him isn't helping a damn thing."

She rolled her eyes, looking at me like I was some mere child, instead of a fifteen-year-old teenage werewolf. "I don't know why you're making such a fuss, Seth. You were completely obsessed with Luka when you were younger."

I shook my head as we continued to walk deeper into the forest, both of us wanting to take a quick run and to get away from the pack for a little bit.

"That was before I found out that he's an obnoxious, arrogant, self-centered asshole who thinks he can get whatever he wants, me included."

Leah scoffed and then smiled sweetly at me. "You like him," she sing-songed."

I groaned and shoved her aside, needing to get away from her and a certain dominate wolf. Before I could get very far, though, strong arms wrapped themselves around me, holding me captive. I didn't need to look to see who it was. The hairs standing on the back of my neck already told me who it just might be.

"Hey, baby. I missed you."

I heaved a breath as I started to extract myself away from his hold.

"You saw me last night at the meeting, Luka."

He dug his face into my neck, nuzzling it like a cat. "That seems like ages ago. I need to see you all day every day in order to make my big bad wolf happy." I felt his hands move down from my stomach to the top of my thighs, caressing suggestively. "In any way I can get," he purred in my ear.

I whined as I felt his fingers get closer to my…special…place. I arched my back off his chest, trying harder to get away. I heard him groan as he pressed himself harder against me, letting me feel his own special place.

"You're not as big as you would like to think," I muttered. He kissed my throat almost sweetly, but I knew he was full of shit. I knew how he really was.

"How would you know? Would you like to see, just to make sure, of course?"

I glanced over my shoulder in disgust. With a growl, I jerked my head back forcefully, cracking my skull right into his nose. With a yelp of pain, he released me, his arms falling back to clutch at his bleeding nose.

"Fucking hell, Seth!" he shouted. "What the fuck was that for?"

Without a word, I continued to walk towards the trees where my sister oh so conveniently disappeared to. The broken nose was his own fault. He needs to understand that no means no.

Six Months Later

I said, stay away from me! With a snarl, I lunged at the white wolf in front of me, my claws and teeth inches from his muzzle. He dodged it easily, his own teeth showing as he growled along with me.

What the fuck is your problem, Seth? Luka growled though the pack link.

You! I screamed as I lunged at him again, my claws digging into his flank. Before he could roll out from beneath me, I jumped off and landed delicately on a stone ledge just above his head. With another snarl, I lashed out a paw in his direction in warning, hissing furiously, my hackles raised.

I don't understand why you're acting this way, Luka muttered as he looked up at me. I watched with deep satisfaction as blood stained his pure white pelt, staining it gruesomely. Isn't it every submissives' dream to be the mate of a domainte? You're a submissive and I'm a dominate. I don't see the problem here.

And that's exactly why your fur is stained red, I said with a huff of breath. He shook his head, not understanding. You're too arrogant, too self-centered. You think everything is owed to you and you don't have to give back. You have a big head, Luka. And that is not attractive. I paused and shook my head, my growling long gone.

Luka, I began, feeling myself calm down a bit. When I was younger, I couldn't wait to be a wolf, just for the mere fact that I would be near you constantly. And I was hoping and praying that you would take me on as a mate. But as I got older, I saw how you really are and I wanted no part of it.

I knew my words were taking effect as his hackles lowered, as did his eyes. I heard and saw his thoughts as they raced by, too quickly for me to catch. I jumped off the ledge and walked up to him, his eyes raising to meet mine.

I want you as a mate, I said softly. His ears perked up in interest, but I shook my head, not finished. But in order for me to accept you, I need you to take a long hard look in the mirror. I need you to see what it is that is so unattractive. When you do and when you fix that, come talk to me then. I walked right up to him, rubbing my muzzle against his softly. I'll be waiting for you, I whispered before racing away from.

Six Months Later

"I don't understand. Why am I blindfolded? Should I be scared?"

Leah giggled as she led me, blindly, through the forest. It had been a weird day by far today. Paul gave me the entire day off, saying that I should just take an entire day for relaxation. That mixed in with the entire pack being creepily nice to me, and my sister coming out of nowhere and tying a blindfold around my eyes and started leading me deep into the forest, not telling me where we were going. For all I knew, she was planning to murder me and bury my dead corpse somewhere in these dense mountains.

After what seemed like forever, she released me and left me standing in God only knew where.

"Leah?" I called out tentatively. There was no response. "Can I take the bandana off now?" There was still no response. Cautiously, I reached for the blindfold, but before I could even touch the fabric, a strong warm hand gripped my wrists. I gasped in surprise as they pulled my arms to my side. I stilled, my breath shuttering, as the hands left my wrists to grip my hips firmly, squeezing. "L-L-Luka?" I whispered.

"Shh, baby," his deep voice shushed. I groaned as he kissed the spot just below my ear. "Don't talk. Just let yourself feel. Trust me."

I nodded and leaned into him, giving into his wishes. I haven't seen much of Luka in the past few months. I didn't know if that was a really good thing or a really bad thing. I didn't know if he actually took my words to heart or if he just blew it off like I expected him to do. Nevertheless, I was able to enjoy six nice months of no groping and no cat calling. I was happy at that.

I gasped suddenly as I felt Luka's teeth scrape against my throat, teasing the skin. I moaned and pushed myself against him, wanting more of whatever he was willing to give.

"Seth, baby," Luka whispered in my ear. I turned my head towards him, half expecting him to revert back to the asshole that he usually was, but instead, I felt a slight tug before the pressure against my eyes were released and I was able to finally see where we were.

We were right smack-dab in the middle of the forest. Before me was a campfire, the only light surrounding us besides the twinkling stars staring down at us from the clear night sky. I gasped at how close to the heavens we were, like I could reach out and just pluck one twinkling diamond out of the thousands there. It took my breath away.

"Seth, baby," Luka began again. I turned to look behind me. He looked absolutely delicious in his ripped jeans that barely clung to his prominent hip bones and opened button shirt that swayed in the light breeze, reveal more of his beautiful body to me. Luka placed a finger under my chin, directing my gaze to his face, which currently was smirking. I blushed at being caught looking. "What you said to me six months ago gave me a reality check on my life," he started, maintaining eye contact with me. "I realize that you were right, that I was an asshole that was in major need of an attitude adjustment. And when you said that you were not at all attracted to that, to me, I knew I needed to change."

My breath stilled as he lowered himself to his knees before me, his hands gripping my hips in a tight hold, all the while his eyes remained locked with mine.

"I was terrified that you were going to go off to someone who could treat you better. I knew I didn't have much time, but I immediately looked in that mirror and saw exactly what you did. And you know what? I didn't like what reflected back either. So I decided that day that I was going to change. For me. For you. And when I told Paul exactly what was going on, he was more than willing to help out, telling the pack to keep quiet about what I was planning on doing. About all this." He gestured all around us and I knew he was talking about the strange day today. "And when I looked in that very same mirror again today, Seth, I liked what I saw; I knew that I finally had a shot at you. But there was one thing I saw that I did not like. And you know what that was?"

I shook my head, unable to speak. He gave a small smirk before leaning in giving my bare stomach a lingering and sweet kiss, so unlike the Luka I've known before.

"I noticed that my reflection was missing you right beside it," he whispered. He kissed my stomach one more time before looking back up at me. "Seth Clearwater, I formally ask your permission to forever be my mate and partner in life. Through sickness. Even through death, that our bond will never fail or weaken, that it gets stronger and stronger with each passing day. I promise to protect you and love you for the rest of my life. Do you accept?"

I bit my lip as he looked up at me with piercing brown eyes, pleading and begging me to say yes. This was definitely not the Luka I have known. I wrapped my arms around his head as he pressed another kiss to my bellybutton, his tongue swirling the area. I moaned weakly before pulling him to his feet. As soon as he was standing, I pressed my lips against his, whispering yes over and over and over again. Immediately, his arms encircled my waist, pulling me closer to him as he devoured my lips in a passionate kiss.

FLASHBACK

"That is so sweet," I cooed as Seth finished his story. He giggled again and nodded before turning his head back for Luka to kiss his lips.

"Yeah," Luka muttered in a gruff voice as his eyes locked with Seth's as his thumb stroked the mating mark on Seth's neck, a perfect imprint of Luka's teeth. "The after party wasn't as sweet, though," he smirked.

My cheeks flamed red with Seth's as I realized exactly what he meant. Seth rolled his eyes, no doubt used to his mate's brashness.

"I don't know what you're talking about," Seth muttered with a smile on his face. "I'm the one that took control the entire night."

"Only because I let you!" Luka countered.

I smiled and shook my head as they continued like that. I turned away from them to meet Paul's shirtless body a few yards away. He was playing football with Jared and a few other members of his pack, the sweat glistening off his body in the most delicious way. I glanced at the water where I knew Sam would be, floating on the surface like he didn't have a care in the world. The water dribbled down his body like the sweat on Paul's form, and I couldn't suppress the shudder. I thought over Seth's and Luka's story and I knew exactly what I needed to do.

"I'll catch up with you guys tonight," I said quickly to the bickering couple in front of me. "I need to do something real quick."

Seth smiled deviously before he wrenched himself to his feet with Luka's help. "I'm glad we could be of assistance," he said before giving me a hug. He looked back at Luka, his eyes twinkling. "C'mon, babe, Aleigha and her mommy wants to go for a swim which means daddy has to come along, too." He took his mate's wrist in his hand and started walking to the water, much to Luka's dismay. I had a feeling he wasn't the biggest fan of water. With a determined shake of my head, I started walking towards my house, already formulating a plan as to what I was going to do.

Tonight.

I'm so happy that we got to share some of Luka's and Seth's life! Again, I'm not too sure how well I wrote out Seth, but hopefully I did a decent job. And it's a guarantee that the very next chapter is going to be Jacob's choice! GAH I'M SO EXCITED!
