Teach Me
Chapter 2
"So I'm getting an apartment," said Mark, nonchalantly as he and Lexie curled up in bed one night.
"That's great you've been living here for over a three years," smiled Lexie.
"Would you help me look?" asked Mark.
A look of shock shot across Lexie's face.
"I'm not asking you to move in with me - unless you want to. I just I can see us being together for a while and if we're together you'll spend a lot of time there," said Mark.
"I'd love to help you," smiled Lexie.
Hours later they were in the hospital.
"Stevens Grey," said Sloan.
"Yes," whispered Meredith.
"The other Grey," said Mark, looking to Lexie. "You did a good job in there."
"Thank you," smiled Lexie.
"She probably quizzed him in bed last night," whispered another intern.
"Do you have something you'd liked to say?" asked Mark, looking towards the other interns.
The interns all shook their heads.
"Then you can all leave," said Mark.
Everyone left except Izzie, Meredith, Cristina, George and Lexie.
"Dr Grey any questions?" asked Mark.
Lexie shook her head and Mark walked off as well as Meredith and Cristina.
"What was that about?" asked Lexie, looking to George.
"You left with Sloan last night everyone assumes you slept with him to get this surgery," said George.
"I was home last night you know that. My car wouldn't start and Sloan was in the parking lot he offered me a ride home and I didn't sleep with him," said Lexie.
"I was on call last night," said George.
"You're my friend you should believe me," said Lexie.
"I do," answered George, before he walked off.
"You clearly don't," thought Lexie, walking off.
"You ok," whispered Mark, as he walked next her, his nose in a chart.
"Everyone think I slept with you last night to get surgery. Someone saw me get in your car," said Lexie. "Don't retorted to any of that."
"Do you want me to kick you of the case?" asked Mark.
"No I earned this case I am going to own this case," said Lexie. "I am going to kick its ass."
"I sure you will," said Mark. "You know why I choose you for this surgery?"
"Cuz she slept with you," whispered someone walking past.
"Ignore them. Apart from Stevens you were the only one to directly look at the patient without cringing," said Mark.
"Thank you," smiled Lexie.
"No problem," smiled Mark. "I'll see you in surgery."
Mark walked off and Meredith came up to Lexie at the nurses' station.
"Are you sleeping with Sloan?" asked Meredith.
"What? No," said Lexie.
"What was all that about?" asked Meredith. "Why were you seen getting in his car?"
"He was telling me I was on the surgery because I was the only intern to actually look at the patient without cringing and my car wouldn't start," answered Lexie.
"Did you go home with him?" asked Meredith.
"No," answered Lexie.
"Did George see you come home?" asked Meredith.
"George was on call. I did not sleep with Sloan," said Lexie, her pager went off.
The display read 3C OC MS.
"I have to go," said Lexie.
Meredith nodded and Lexie headed off to her and Mark's on call room.
"Everyone is going on about us," sighed Lexie, as she lay there with Mark.
"But no one knows so they're just speculating," said Mark. "We know the truth they know nothing."
Lexie stretched. "That is true."
"They don't know that I really like you," whispered Mark.
"They don't know I really like you," whispered Lexie.
They lay there in silence for a couple of minutes.
"We need to get to Dave's surgery," she whispered, sitting up.
"Can't be late if the lead surgeon isn't there," smiled Mark, pulling Lexie back onto of him.
Her laughter rang though on call room.
